Location great, a few minutes walk from main town area, good breakfast selection. Staff speaks decent english and place is so pretty especially in the afternoon. Bathroom facilty in the queen bedroom can be better but doable for a few night's stay. Overall recommended

Comfortable and instaworthy”

Clean, modern, and good aesthetics, this is not on the main hostel street, and it seems a little nicer than the other hostels in this area. We used their bikes for free and bikes 5 minutes to the night market and city center and the breakfast was great!

Ypperlig”

Team was really amazing! Nice and welcoming, they provided bikes, kindly kept our bags while trekking and where always available to give help and advice! The place is also really nice, beautifully decorated! We loved it!!!

Hostel was located at the big Road, at night there was a lot of motorcycle racing along the road. There's a little pungent smell, not sure is it the floor cleaner smell or something else. Overall the hotel is clean and nice.

A cozy place to stay in Chiang Rai”

We rented a car and was at first concerned about the parking space as happynest was located along the road. Fortunately, we're allowed to park our car in front of the hostel. So if you're driving, parking is not an issue. Staffs were friendly as well. We stayed at family room and it was clean and tidy. Room for Improvement: 1. Family room is not suitable for older people as it's located in 4th floor and there's no railing on the staircase which quite dangerous for kids and senior citizen. 2. Weird design for the shower room in the family room as there's no door, just covered with curtain. No privacy. 3. Breakfast nice and simple. It will be good to start the breakfast time earlier to 7am. The second day we missed out the breakfast as we leave at 7am and breakfast only started serving 730am. Overall we had a great stay and love the hostel decoration! =)

Lovely hostel with great hospitality ”

Staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel decorations were very nice and the atmosphere was comfi and laid back. Loving the breakfast. They have 4 options for you to choose, both western and eastern with fresh fruits. About 10 mins walk to the night bazzar on one straight road and 15 mins to the bus station. Just slightly wish it could be even closer to these destinations under the great big sun. Room was spacious but there was a hole on the ceiling that should be cemented. Overall enjoyed the stay very much.

Beautiful and Strategic Hostel”

This hostel is in a very strategic location, walking distance to night market, clock tower and a few temples. The hostel is beautiful, clean where there's area for rest, reading, hang around. Dorm is clean and staff are helpful when it comes to direction and planning of the trip.

Good Location with pretty hostel”

THe staff is very helpful in helping us booking a night stay at Phu Chee Fa. He found us a very nice place to stay despite last minute request from us. The breakfast was good and the room was awesome. The only thing is they should change the showerhead.

Super loved it!”

Received warmly and was so relieved that they can speak sufficient english (after an effort to do so in our hostel in Chiang Mai). Location is good, 10-15min walk from bus station and the tuktuk drivers know it well. Bus stop to white temple is just 3min walk from hostel. The design is just lovely! From wall decors to the momentos, etc. They designed it with functionality in mind, as well. Loved the fact that for a hostel, they have hairdryer (vain me). Also, loved the Einstein-looking bulb by the bed side that is useful when you are reading before sleeping. Bedroom slippers were warm and fuzzy type. Breakfast was great too and served with fruits. They have bike rental for 20baht per hour, and motorbike rental as well. Good idea to rent the motorbike going to white temple, black house and hilltribe village (with due research for direction of course), which we realized only after hiring a tuktuk for half a day (350baht). Our return trip to chiang mai was later at 3pm so we just lounged around after 12noon, which was perfectly fine. We an still use the wifi and toilet, we did not feel being kicked out at all.;) I would really love to go back. :)

Best Budget Option”

Staff is awesome and tell tou alot about the city and possible trips, rooms (a leat the preivate ones) are quite spacious and feel more like a botique hotel then a hostel, overall we had a great time here and we recommend

New year, Chiang Rai is busy, a dormitory was all ”

I don't usually stay in a dormitory, but leaving booking until the last minute this is where we ended up. At 450B/bed, its pricey for a Thai hostel, but it was so much better than I expected. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, spacious community areas. The breakfast was a choice of simple western or simple Thai with coffee, yoghurt and juice. Only complaint was that the bathrooms didn't seem to get cleaned enough, the toothpaste remnants of my fellow visitors were a constant in the shared sinks.

I've tried the reasonably priced and spacious private twin room and would recommend it to travelers in this region. It does not come with anything fancy but is clean, has basic thai and western breakfast and helpful staff.

cozy trendy hostel ”

Very clean and spacious, doesnt look like a typical hostel becoz of it tasteful design. 7 mins from Chiang Rai bus station and night barzzar! Asian and western breakfast options and I like them both. I stayed in doubled bed room but shortly I sat down on the bed it was broken. So the staff arranged the twin room which I find it much quieter! !! Staff is very efficient to get someone to fix the bed so I moved back the following day. If u dont mind smaller bed in twin room, I go for quieter than the double bed room facing main road. Some cons about the hostel: 1) too many mosquitos in the open areas 2) the curtain is too thin which I cannot sleep longer during holiday 3) avoid double bed room especially room303, it is too noisy.

Not worth for money”

Room facing street was very horrible, street noise disturbed us the whole night, could not sleep even we were on the 3rd floor, private bathroom was awful, mold and dirt all around. Staff were helpful, good breakfast and music

Cute ambiance and nice staff ”

The hostel is super chic and fun! This got me from the first look. The location is right along the busy street but I’m not sure how much this can be avoided. Short walk to the night market, clocktower, restaurants and bus station. The room was a bit dingy but not something I would complain about. Our AC broke upon returning from a long day in the sun and the night staff moved us right away without question! Great recovery!

Family room is spacious and comfortable”

+ Large and comfortable family room, good mattresses, aircon, every day cleaning and changing towels, very "instagrammable" design, choice of four tasty and filling breakfast options, friendly staff. Fridge and kitchenware available at every floor. - The hotel is located approx. 10-15 min walk from the Night Bazaar, and on part of the road the pavements are absent - so this is not a very comfortable walk, especially with kids. You can take a tuk-tuk from Night bazaar for 50-60 baht though. Don't take road-facing rooms if you are sensitive to noise at night and if you plan to sleep late in the morning. Even on the top floor you can hear the cars very clearly, and from 8 am the construction works start on the sites nearby.

Decoration is superb!”

I felt in love with this hostel's decoration since I first saw this on website and probably couldn't wait to stay there. What i liked and disliked during my stay in private double room are; what I liked - hostel & in-room decoration - a very helpful and friendly staff - few choice of breakfast but it well prepared so we really appreciated it. what I disliked - Bathroom: Toilet is so so but bathroom is kind of horrible. Shower is rusty and I think there is some mold on bathroom's floor. - Not enough outlet in room. They should have outlet on both side of bed, not only one. - Noise protection is quite bad. My room is facing to the street so we can hear car noise all night. My husband couldn’t sleep because of it.
