Fantastic setting, and beautiful room. Food wasn’t good, slow service, air conditioning failed during the night with very hot temperatures outside
its 40+ Kms from Chitorgarh, but interesting heritage hotel
Lovely quiet 350 year old castle in lush mountain valley. Don’t be put off by the 40 km drive through sere desiccated mountains as valley bursting with green crops and great variety of trees due to abundant lakes and streams. A number of different tribal villages make for interesting hikes. Lovely large rooms in castle and best most workable bathrooms we have encountered in 2 weeks travel in India.
Very good hotel with courteous staff.”
It is 14 mms.off highway.but it is worth it.
Experience for staying at Castle of Bijayapur during Christmas vacation”
The property is good... but needs maintenance and professional staff. Food was horrible. The cook cannot made even simple paratha but charges any item very high. The hotel charges each items very heavily.... Needs improvement if they want to do business....
Lovely heritage hotel with real character”
We had two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful position, the beauty of the the building, with swings, daybeds etc and the grounds, with pool. Breakfasts and dinner (served by the pool) were very good, as were the staff.
We enjoyed a quiet stay at Castle Bijaipur. After a busy schedule of visiting every tourist destination in Rajasthan, it was nice to chill out and do nothing at Castle Bijaipur. We enjoyed walking around the village and out into the country taking pictures of the abundant birdlife and rural scenes. The villagers were friendly and tolerant of our presence. It is too bad that the only place to get food in the town is at the castle. The restaurant at the castle served some of the blandest food we have had in India at a ridiculously high price. The place is geared towards organised tours. Maybe groups get value for their money but as independant travelers, I would say that our stay was interesting but overpriced.
Its hard to fault this place. Clean, super spacious rooms with marble floors and lovely linen; fantastic shower; we had a lovely private roof terrace overlooking the village and hills. Reasonably priced G&T, great pool. Staff were wonderful. In a way it is a bit'gated community' but do venture out into the village and spend some money. The village is poor but super lovely people. We went to a performance of a play/musical by some travelling actors/singers - the whole village attended. Mesmerising and immersive experience. The food was a bit uninspiring but fresh, always ask for 'Indian Style'. Personally, I wouldn't bother with the trips on offer and just take a big pile of books and be prepared to relax. Oh, and the deep tissue massage and reflexology were the best in India.
Nice place to spend time with close ones”
Everything is perfect. One can spend quality time with the loved once. Nice place to relax and chill. Only issue i found was that they do not have room service our a in room phone to call reception or House Keeping.
Good for groups; Couples probably not.”
My wife and I just spent a few days in Bijaipur. a small town surrounded by lovely farmland. This hotel caters to groups. If you are not in a group then it is a bewildering place to stay: meal times and locations are unknown and not announced. I think the staff is used to having a group guide to provide information to guests. This is unfortunate, as the setting is very nice and convenient to Chittoragh.
Nice stay and good service”
Overall a very nice place to stay, environment is beautiful, and service is good. Sometimes quality comes with a price and this time it really worth the investment. Go there and Relax for a while
Over all good stay but food was average ”
Good stay, need heaters during winters in rooms. Need wifi in rooms. Food options and taste could be better in ala cart option.
Great castle experience”
Great little palace in a middle of a village lost in the hills behind Chittorgarh (1h away, 600 rp with rickshaw). You are there for the hotel and nothing else, had a yoga session with the Maharaja in the morning, enjoyed the pool and the beautiful room, chatted with the other costumers. The restaurant maitre d.hotel was great fun and really lovely team, too bad the food was just average too salty and fatty and not much flavoors. Overall I still recommand the place, the double bed room are nicer than twin.
Great Experience: history, hospitality, countryside”
The hotel is simply fantastic helpful staff, old castle redone to be a hotel, fantastic views, great horse riding experience...
It was great . !!!!
Buffett / Food Rates are very high”
Very Good except the Costly Food, Only one type, No Menu choice. Also Test of food can be a bit better. Overall Good Experience.
