Pictures don’t do it justice.”
It seems the photo for the hotel were taken on potato. From when we walked in from the busy crowds we were greeted by big chrome mirror and white grand piano. The staff were amazing and upgraded us for free which really made us happy. We paid €72 for the room and over looked the canal. Chandelier in the room along with a sofa and double bed with a very clean massive bathroom. We almost didn’t want to go out for dinner the room was so nice, we got lost looking upon the canal with boats and people streaming passed the window. At night you can hear the relaxing water trickling against the side of the canal which really sends you to sleep. Only problem was that we were there for one night!!!! ***** Will be back for sure!
The location was so close to the railway station and the view of the restaurant where we took breakfast was excellent. However, the room was small and the shower area was just too small.
Few minutes walking from train station and many shops and restaurants around the hotel. Upgrade our room to canal view room.
Good hotel and very strategic in location. Nice quiet room with very clean sheets. Staff especially in breakfast room can be more gracious. Level 1 rooms if you have heavy luggage need help from the porter as there are stairs to go up and down on the level itself.
Long weekend ”
The hotel entrance was lovely and check in easy with friendly staff. The room was quite small and a little outdated but it had everything we needed (who goes to Venice to spend time in their room anyway!) Our room overlooked the main street but the windows blocked out most of the noise so it wasn’t an issue. The breakfast was lovely with a choice of scrambled egg, bacon, cold meats, cheeses, croissants. More than enough to set you up for a day of exploring. And to top it off eating it outside right on the grand canal was just stunning! The location of the hotel is perfect, about a 5 or 10 minute walk from the train/bus station and a 20 minute walk to St Marks square with lots of bars, shops and restaurants along the way. Overall I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price.
Excellent location beside train station”
Hotel was located really near the train station. Breakfast was great with a view. Staff were friendly and very helpful. There are 2 supermarkets within the proximity and loads of eateries and restaurants. Rooms were clean and spacious.
You were lucky to upgrade your room because it's off-season, but the view of the sea was fantastic. Even if I stay at home, I still can't forget about the ocean view. During a trip to Europe with my son or husband, he said the best accommodation is here. The breakfast room was big and nice. It's off-season. We used breakfast at reasonable prices. If it were during peak seasons, we wouldn't have had a chance.
The Principe hotel is clean and close to the Venice St. Lucia station. It's convenient for the travellers to stay. The breakfast was good but not very good.
Stayed 1 night at Hotel Principe and here's the Pros & Cons. Pros: - 5mins walk from train station. - Nice view from my room as it is facing the river. - Staff is VERY friendly. As I reached the hotel before check in time, the staff automatically help me store my luggage. When I reached my room, I called them and they have porter service to deliver our heavy luggages to our room. Oh! They even helped me to carry to the lobby and called for porter service to the train station when I check out. Cons: - They have a famous Japanese restaurant in the hotel. Tried to walk in but was fully booked and the take away time is only till 7pm. So, if anyone interested to try, do reserve early.
enjoyed our stay very much”
Canal view room. Decent breakfast but may increase variety of choice. Good location, walking distance to railway station. However we were a bit unhappy when we keep our luggage with the reception due to early check in and unreadiness of our room, the service crew insist to send our bag to room and do not allow us to take our own luggage ourselves. When he sent the bags, he asked for tips. So avoid depositing your luggage with them will be ok
Location is within the main walking street and few mins from the Venice San Lucia Station. Many shops and eateries are around the hotel vicinity and there are two restaurants within he hotel itself. One of them is a Japanese Restaurant. I really like this hotel a lot and the decoration is so Venice. I will definitely come back here to stay in future.
Clean, quiet and classic”
Quiet location, 10mins walk to ponte vecchio. Pictures looked old hotel, but room and toilet are clean. Breakfast not much variety but still good and at least have bread, yought, fruits, eggs, cakes, coffee and prosciutto (ham).
This hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the main railway station and vaporetto jetties right on the lovely Grand Canal. The restaurants and outdoor terrace offer superb views. It is a four-star place and perhaps the rooms overlooking the canal are wonderful - mine, tucked away at the back did have a view of the canal. If you leaned out, craned your neck and peered past the rubbish bins a tiny glimpse of water could be seen. The room was tiny but clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was satisfactory. I was disappointed that my dinner was spoiled by a couple at a nearby table who insisted on smoking while I was eating.
The best hotel”
Lovely hotel. Stayed in room 46. A good size room, very clean and tidy with character. There are no tea making facilities in the room . A really good breakfast. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Close to train station
Perfect for me”
We are on our eurotrip holiday so called and our last city stay was Venice. This hotel has surprise me a lot. Beautiful room, clean toilet and complete facilities. The staff is super helpful and always try to assist us. We were staying at room view of canal and its so amazing. I want to praise one of the staff working at evening shift by the name MATTAO. Please the management take care of this staff as he did great things to me and my family. I will not disclosed here his contribution but I wanted everybody to know MATTAO is being very hardworking and being so helpful to us when we were there. Credits to him and all the staff. Will be back again. 10 for me for this hotel.
Nice hotel in great locale”
A well priced hotel just a short walk to the bus and train terminals. Very convenient indeed, especially with luggage. Staff were good, wifi fast, rooms clean and a decent size. Breakfast was a bit of a rush as many people and limited options. Otherwise would recommend.
Very close to the station ”
I was just there for a night so is nice that the hotel is just so close to the station by few mins walk . No need to use lot of time to find the way super easy to get there . Other then that everything is fair
Free Wifi password only last for 10 Hours, need to get new password to log in again. Wifi is not so stable, got disconnect many times. Breakfast is good, hot food was quickly taken up when it was placed. Reception offer free tour to Murano glass making workshop and gallery. Interesting tour with boat ride.
The Principe Venice”
The hotel has a superb location, near the railway station. The staff are very kind and friendly. They speak good English and they have a great sense of humour. There are many eateries nearby and great shopping opportunities. The rooms are small but pleasant and comfortable.
Great hotel for business and clients!”
Visited this hotel scouting for destination wedding referrals for receptionless. The location is amazing, breakfast is extensive and delicious, and rooms are delightful. The room is an extension of the canals and the nostalgia of Venice. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. Leave your bags, take a walk and eat at many nearby delicious restaurants or shop!
