Home away from Home Between the skies and the mountains ”
To keep this objective id recommend people expecting 5 star new hotel with star chef and exquisite breakfast to stay at Meridien or Ananatara. This feels like a dated version or Sukhothai with homey comfort food yet friendly and courteous staff and lots to offer. We loved this unpretentious place due to its unique setting, the views are simply breathtaking! The park they have created with free shuttle will give you opportunity to escape for a little while and walk around and feed the parrots the swans and the fish, bike or walk. Otherwise you will be stuck on the mountain for the entire stay unless book your own transportation. If you're looking for an escape and those picture perfect breakfasts and dinners with mesmerising sunsets/sunrises straight from your terrace - come to Katiliya. We loved the place as this is exactly what we were looking for ( luxury is this case is waking up with THAT view ). And mini bar prices are really really cheap so you dont need a local 7 eleven!

I highly recommend Kataliya to anyone looking for great views and a relaxing environment. I've lived in Thailand for 25 years and have travelled it from top to bottom. This is one of the better options you'll find. It's family-owned but managed very effectively. The rooms are well-designed, beautiful and well-maintained. Service is efficient and friendly. Food is very good. I was surprised at how authentic the pizza was. They have a park with a mini-zoo good for kids and mountain bike and hiking trails. The mountain bikes were in much better shape than you'll find elsewhere in Thailand. They were hardtails, but new and well-maintained. Trails weren't single track, but they were fun for someone who misses the trails of the US. The highlight, though, is the view. Nothing beats waking up early for the sunrise with a coffee, or chilling with a beer for the sunset. Song birds will be serenading you. The only flaw in the trip was that two of the cardio machines in the gym weren't working. I informed management and presume that they'll be repaired. Power cut out occasionally for a few seconds but was quickly restored, I presume due to generators. Wifi was strong and reliable. This is my first hotel review. I generally don't like to share my secret hideaways with others, but I feel obliged to provide some support given how well management and staff treated me. I was surprised that 1-2 of the reviews I saw here were less than glowing.

Where Luxury Meets Nature”
Where Luxury meets Nature! That is Katiliya Mountain Resort’s tagline and I couldn’t have said it any better! The rooms are immaculate, spacious and luxurious. Beautiful clean crisp bed linens, an abundance of storage space, and spectacular views. The pool is magnificent as well as the relaxing jacuzzi. The spa has wonderful services and splendid mountain views. The entire staff is very friendly, welcoming and extremely accommodating. The restaurant has a fantastic menu and the food and drinks are awesome! My only regret was that I didn’t stay longer. I can’t wait for my next visit. I highly recommend Katiliya! It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, a family trip or a work related trip. Katiliya is a magnificent hotel and it’s a must visit!

Five Star ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Resort with a phenomenal view!!! I can not say enough good things about Katiliya Mountain Resort. First class service from the friendly and accommodating staff !!! Delicious food and wonderful service! The views are magnificent!!! And the facilities are amazing!!! A huge pool and a warm and inviting jacuzzi. If you want to come and Relax, Renew and Revitalize then Katiliya Mountain Resort is for you!!! I almost forgot to mention the spacious and clean rooms with spectacular views and vast amounts of storage space. A lot of thought and effort went into the design of the rooms and property!

A luxurious hotel on a hillside overlooking a hills and forests. The views from the room.ans restaurant were amazing. Our room was huge, the bed was very comfortable, shower also very good with no issues with warm water. The restaurant has a great selection of Western and Thai foods and everything was delicious. Breakfast was plentiful and service was always superb. The pool area is very relaxing and you can even swim a few laps. They also offer a shuttle service from the rooms to the restaurant, but the distance and privacy are worth the walk (if one chooses to). Location might be unsuitable for those without their own transport, but otherwise it's amazing.

A gem tucked in the hills”
We loved our stay at Katiliya. The staff made every effort to make us comfortable and were so helpful and friendly. Every suite is a work of art; spacious and a home away from home. The Maître D,, Mr. Wah at Breakfast made sure we enjoyed our meal. Having been to at least over a hundred hotels and resorts over the years, we can truly say this was one of the best experiences.

Best of everything ”
Prepare to come early to the resort, and enjoy the phenomenal experience from your balcony if you were to choose the Katiliya room liked me (open space view to Chui Fong) with how chill the weather was even in the afternoon paired up with a good wine and couple of best friends. Reserved the table at the restaurant and come about 5.45pm for the best view. After breakfast if you have time, I suggest to visit the hotel park. They have deers, parrots, geese, ducks, and so on for you to drive like an open safari and feed them freely (their food are ready next to their cage). Lots of fun staying here.

It's an ideal place for relaxation and great staff that one may count on to arrange all the activities that you wish to explore. A special thanks to Ms Sittichaya for all the arrangements & meeting our needs. Given the chance, we would rate all the guest services, the room, quality of food, the Spa, tour arrangements including the Katiliya Park as "OUTSTANDING". WOW! Just wow.”
It is a beautiful location, with amazing amenities all on site: they have a park with some wild animals for the kids to see, or just have a nice walk around. Two great pool areas, one with a heated pool, as well as a bar with snooker, darts, cards, a mini golf platform (don't get your hopes too high, only 3 holes), and a foosball table. All situated in a very quiet, beautiful mountain view. Highly recommend as the bathroom was larger than most studio apartments I have seen.

Hidden gem over the hills ”
The hotel is situated between Doi Mae Salong and the road to Chiang Saen/Doi Tung. We loved it here a lot, the room is spacious with a super panoramic mountain view ( even we just booked the standard room with garden view). They served a variety of menu at breakfast, including noodle/dim sum and bakery. Anyway, there was only house brewed coffee at the time we visited. Still impressive and will surely return the next time if i join the Mae Salong Ultra Trail again 🤩.

The best place to stay in Mountains!”
Big room with terrace giving the full view of mountains and forests, amazing service and location. They also have separate park adjacent to hotel where you can enjoy gardens, lake, animals (deers, rabbit, peacocks, ducks, parrots, etc). We enjoyed with our young children. If you want to to visit city side then it max 1 hour drive to downtown. The place is close to Tea plantation and Doi Tung.

Cons: the resort entrance was dark, rough and confusing. Pros: the resort is beautifully located on the hill. Nice panoramic view from the room. Very friendly and attentive staff, nice small zoo, good variety and quality of breakfast, spotless clean, very comfy bed.

Impressive resort in impressive surroundings.”
Beautiful accommodations and facilities in area with fantastic scenery. Very large, well appointed rooms, plus a good number of onsite options for activities. Centrally located to most of the tourist destinations in Chiangrai province, so that almost everything is just 1 - 2 hours drive away. We did not take the hotel tours, because we had made arrangements for private tour guide in advance. However, they hotel tours offered visits to all the sites and they seemed reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet was not the customary luxury resort excessive food display. It offered several different choices of Thai, western, and Chinese food in good quantity, but without wasted food. Eggs cooked to order in several different ways were included. Definitely a place we would go back to and recommend to others.

staff were extremely friendly. they allowed me to park my bike within the foyer, under shade. the swimming pool is slightly briny which is good. instead of utilising chlorine. room was very nice with awsum vistas from the balcony. you know you're in nature from the quiet and clean air. b'fast was excellent with a wide spread of food. all in all, a very nice stay. highly recommended.
