Very Friendly host”
nice garden, not far to the cellars and shops. The property owner is very friendly.
Highly recommended ”
Our stay in this hotel is lovely. The food in the restaurant is excellent highly recommend it to eat there. Beautiful chateau. The location is not quite the center of the town it's about 10 min drive to tanunda. So if you like to walk to sightsee you will be walking a long distance. The hotel is clean the bed comfortable.
A hotel in rose garden”
Arrived in the evening and attracted by the roses before the reaching the reception. The room assigned to me was a triple room although I was single. The room was spacious and clean. Saw rabbits running at the garden from the room. Breakfast first served was generaly good. Spent an hour walking around the garden and the Chateau. I wish I can stay more night in the hotel.
great place to go for a weekend getaway, been a couple of times and really enjoyed staying there
Basic service, gardens were all dead flowers, coffee machine broken and replaced with really cheap/weak pot, light in bedroom not working, really difficult to get a taxi/uber into town at night. Would not recommend to a friend
great in Spring!”
Came here for our 3 year anniversary. I definitely recommend to stay here in Spring, as that is when their huge private garden is in full bloom, and it is such a joy to walk around with all the flowers.
Great location, beautiful gardens”
Rooms are a little tired but if the weather is nice you will want to spend most of your time here in the huge stunning gardens. Location is great, just up the road from lyndoch town with other barossa attractions easy driving distance.
Nice location for a weekend away”
The room was nice for a romantic getaway and quite easy to find from the main road. There wasn't too much noise except the sound of the birds and the nature surrounding the room. The rose garden view was very nice with a small balcony and stairs down to the rose gardens. We had breakfast at a special event on site that was being held for a Barossa Gourmet weekend. If this happens again I highly recommend it.
We searched for accommodation in the general Gawler area, and found Lyndoch Hill to be the most affordable and only a easy 12 minute drive from the function we were attending at Nixon's in Gawler. The motel has been a presence in the Barossa for many years, and from previous visits does have a very good restaurant. We found the room and en-suite to be very clean, a comfortable bed and pillows, good air conditioning , and a pretty outlook over the gardens from the rear of the room, next time we may have the chance of staying a little longer as it is located very conveniently to the attractions of the Barossa and not too far from Adelaide. Close to good wineries”
For the price it is so close to some great wineries. At first we thought we were far away, then realised great wineries are less than 10km away, and if you start there and work your way back to the hotel its amazing
Clean and very reasonable price.”
Room was clean and a staff was friendly. You can find some good wineries nearby.
Lyndoch Hill is located well within the Barossa district and easily accessible to local winemakers. The restaurant was good and the service also was good. The rooms however are a little tired looking and outdated and could benefit from some refurbishment to compete with neighbouring accommodation.
We organised a group of 11 to spend two nights and they looked after us very well. They arranged our rooms next to each other and we had all we needed in terms of tables an chairs around the pool to enjoy our evening drinks. The rooms look like they are all in the process of being upgraded, but even in their current condition, they are a nice size, clean and the bed is comfortable. And the shower was magnificent with plenty of hot water. What more can you ask for, If you are looking for 5 star, this is not necessarily for you. But it did us very well. We had dinner in the Restaurant on one night and really enjoyed the regional fresh food, They even masked the wine for us, so we could have some fun with a blind tasting. In another season where there is less of a drought, the rose garden would be very delightful to explore.
Well the pictures in the add look great but unfortunately thats as good as it gets. Rooms from the 70s. uncomfortable beds. Restaurant was average breakfast rubbish and overpriced. Was going to complain but there was a box for key return outside the door so just left keys and went. they obviously did this so they dont have to hear all the complaints. never again.
Stop Off on way to visit family in Country SA”
The courteous of the staff was a welcoming. The room was clean and well presented. Pool was a relief for the pre teen. Happy Hour in the Restaurant was nice. The gardens lovely and chateau lovely as ever. Coming back after 9 years was not disappointing.
Barossa on a Budget”
Existing reviews are accurate, the rooms are not well represented by photos here. Décor is dated and there was a strong cleaning product smell that took awhile to air out. However, for the budget traveller wanting to stay in the Barossa I think this place is well worth it. The gardens are amazing, easily 1-2+ hours worth of wandering trails on the grounds to see the roses (obviously best seen during the right season). It is well located, suggest restaurant Lord Lyndoch down the road for a meal during your stay. Staff are friendly. I would stay there again, but would recommend against it if you are after a luxurious room.
Good looks bad stay”
The hotel is only good on the outside. The room that we stayed does not match with their advertisement, nor their garden presentations. The room designs is ugly, the bed is unacceptably soft that caused backaches and the toilet is flooded all the time.
Relax & Enjoy the environment ”
We'd great experienced this hotel, the hotel staff is friendly & nice. It's quiet place, suitable for relaxing. The breakfast is really Delicious. The Coffee is Great. Have a very satisfy stay w food & accommodation.Definitely will came back again.
Simple, comfortable rooms with friendly staff ”
The room was neat and comfortable - quite simple, but perfect for our short stay in the Barossa. The staff were friendly and helpful and gave us a bottle of wine and cheese on arrival which is a welcoming touch. We didn't get a chance to visit the cellar door there but the gardens looked beautiful.
Good location, big room”
Nice hotel with good location, room was big and comfortable with nice balcony area. Bathroom was so-so though, wished that it was more modern but acceptable overall. Good value for money and it was easy to find and get around to the vineyards from there. Free bottle of wine and cheese platter was a definite plus and it was nice that we received a bottle of sparkling for Christmas. There was lovely rose gardens surrounding the property and it was nice to walk around especially during sunset. The only thing was that on Xmas day everything was shut including the restaurant and we were told that housekeeping was not working during Xmas and they would leave extra towels for that day. We did not receive the extra towels. We can understand that things are closed during Xmas but forgetting to give the extra towels was disappointing. Overall a nice and relaxing stay.
