Very pleasant stay”
The hotel itself is a part of the Royal Palace, located right in the midst of everything you want to see, but tucked away from hustle&bustle of the main road. Friendly & very helpful staff. Decent breakfast.
I requested a room beside the garden, near to a beautiful lotus pond and it was beautiful! I woke up to beautiful lotus blooms and I could access the garden in the morning, without any tourista in sight. It was more than my expectations when I booked the place, since there were some reviews on the cleanliness and about the staffs bugging you during breakfast, trying to promote some tour package. Well, the room was geneally clean and comfortable, staffs were friendly and helpful. I don’t see any problems with that. It was quite and peaceful, you will definitely get the balinese feeling as soon as you step in. Too bad I stayed for only 2 nights, I would definitely come back again.
Great stay and great staff! ”
This was a great stay with good location right by the palace. We had forgotten our passports at our last hotel in uluwatu and they offered to have a driver go back to pick them up and bring back. As we only had 2 days in ubud, going back would have used up half a day or driving. So we we’re grateful that they were able to do this for us while we saw the sites in ubud. Thank you!!
An oasis in the heart of Ubud”
Fabulous convenient location. Traditional Balinese villas. Walking distance to most of the main attractions. The staff make you feel like it is a home away from home. Hard to believe you are in the centre of town.
short stay but satisfactory”
you have to be aware about there meal plan specially when you are travelling with small kids.. my booking is entitled with breakfast. but they only served food for 2 people. i had to pay for my kids meals.
Nothing like the pictures”
Very disappointed in our stay. We paid $65 per night twin share including breakfast. The room was absolutely nothing like the photos as advertised on Agoda. I approached Reception 6 times over the 3 nights we were there asking if they could change rooms / put us in the room that was advertised as per the pictures etc - to no avail. The room was dirty, very old, the bedhead full of stains, sheets stained (even a pubic hair on the sheets), the fridge was dirty, the floor was dirty, the wooden double door to the entrance was in such a bad way that there were bit of it missing and mosquitos coming in. The staff were very polite and friendly. The breakfast was nice. The location was perfect. It is such a shame that the pictures are so incredibly misleading. Reception advised me if you want the room advertised on Agoda (there is only 1 room type option) that you need to request it. I asked how I would know to request this room if I have never stayed there before.
Nice location and price”
I really enjoy the place, with a nice great location and nice staff!
cozy, affordable, budget”
perfect for the first day if you arrive ubud at midnight. small but cozy, nice and kind staff, enjoyable breakfast was included. feel like visiting grandma’s old house.
Rooms are pretty clean but pretty old. Window in my room was broken and also I'm not sure if room was cleaned during my stay
Great location ”
Place have great location and have all basic that you need. I would recommend it. :)
We felt like living in the temple. We had a room upstairs with a large terrace in front, looking to the pool and above the trees. Marvellous place. Only the cobwebs here and there reminded that cleaning might have a chance for improvements.
living in the palace”
you will suddenly feel privilege when you stay in this hotel. located next to the famous ubud water palace. I feel like I'm a prince of ubud staying here. the hotel is really old as all room are real antique. cleanliness and maintenance is acceptable for unique cultural experience
A Balinese well-located hotel”
A typical little hotel in a beautiful setting next to a palace with a lotus pond. Nice staff at reception. Very good breakfast. Ideal location for those who want to see everything in the center of Ubud. Not recommended though to the yoga type people who want to spend the day meditating by the rice fields !
Traditional Balinese architecture and lush gardens”
According to the hotel website, Puri Saraswati was build on the Ubud Royal Palace land and great care has been taken to retain the traditional Balinese architecture and lush gardens. Well, they sure are not lying!! The hotel grounds is absolutely beautiful with mature frangipani trees and stone water features. The rooms are comfortably furnished, and although the bathroom shower curtain was a bit dirty, it is not really a big deal. Our room had its own large, private veranda. The location could not be better for us. It is merely a 5min walk to the famous Ibu Oka babi guling, and a few meters across the street you get the Ubud market where you can go bargain hunting and souvenir shopping. Right next to Puri Saraswati is a beautiful lily pond and the Ubud Palace....gorgeous! For its price, it is definitely value for money! Highly recommended.
Heart of Ubud”
I had a great stay, definitely worth the money. After staying in some less-than-optimal places in Bedugul and Lovina, this place was refreshing. Breakfast in the morning was basic--eggs, fruit, toast, coffee and/or tea--better than most. Cafe Lotus directly next door had good, but pricey dinners, though you can watch the dance performances if you reserve a table early enough. Only problems: I thought an expensive hotel in the city center would avoid the 5am rooster wake-ups common on Bali outside Kuta. Nope, there were roosters crowing loudly outside the window at 5am. Electricity also went out once or twice during my stay, always middle of day, but came back on within 10~15 minutes.
As this is a two star villa, you will need to manage your expectations. The estate is old but clean-You get hot shower, very comfortable bed and pillow and friendly staff. There isn't any kettle in the room but the staff are happy to bring you a pot of hot water Centrally located with plenty of excellent spas and restaurants within 15 mins walk.
Amazing gardens, nice pool, great location”
Staff was very friendly. Room service was overpriced and portions were small. Many excellent restaurants very near by. The gardens, complete with essentially a private temple and lotus pond, are an amazing place to sit in peace and quiet right in the city center.
Full of culture and religious bungalows house”
Puri Saraswati is a huge bungalows houses with gardern, culture and religous place to stay. I am very great to be here during my stay in ubud. It is centrely located in Ubud town, mixing of relax and buzy street outside. There is a puri and lotus garden insite the hotel. Every night there is a culture show started at 7.30pm.
Dirty, unkept and disgusting- checked out after 2 hours. ”
Absolutely false advertising. Property should be dropped from Agoda. Dirty rooms, blood on pillow, excessive mould in toilet, toilet dirty, ants in room, mice, rooms had definitely not been cleaned, toiletries half used. Power turned off 3 times in one hour. Felt itchy as soon as we walked into the room. Do not stay here. We checked out after 2 hours due to the filth. Very disappointing way to start our stay in Ubud. Managed to get a much nicer and cleaner hotel at half the price.
Very Balinese setting and great staffs ”
It is right beside Starbucks, great location on Ubud main street. Nearby to art market, Ubud Palace., water palace. however, the cleanliness needs to be worked on, ( the towels were old and dirty but staffs quickly changed a new set when I requested) and the whole place is a little old.
