Breakfast is a joke”
I suggest giving good breakfast rather than just a bacon sandwich, even if the management charges some extra monies.
As soon as we reached at the property we were welcomed by two spiders on the right side of our rooms curtail rail, there were spiders web hanging from the curtains, corners of the room wall had spider webs too. Had lose hair string on the bed, telephone and room lamps weren’t working! Upon telling to the reception they cleaned the room and gave us a number to dial if need anything ( they never really answered the calls we made) first morning beside telling the receptionist that we are allergic to bacon we were given bacon & egg sandwhich! When asked to get a new one they got us two frozen toast, a tea spoon of jam and some lettuce for breakfast wow.? Not happy with the service at all, the toilets were smelly, the towels were smelly too and the people at the reception weren’t professional at all. Not worth $278 at all.
Cabin in the bush”
Clerk wanted me to pay in. Ash or transfer him money and he would give me the cash as the EFTPOS was not working. Booked online $20 cheaper and breakfast was a Bacon and Egg sandwich with a glass of orange juice. Clerk walked it over to cabins and knocked on door at 8.10am. View from room was a farm field after driving down dirt road to place. The photo is nothing like the reality of place
Should improve the bed cleaning as I saw the insert on the bed. Other is quite good
good stay overall”
stayed for a night as we wanted to take pictures of the 12 apostles during sunrise and sunset. Great location - this place is less than 5 mins drive away from 12 apostles visiting centre. Helpful staff - the receptionist brought us to the room directly and even asked if we needed milk for beverages in the room. the room was spacious and the heating was working well.
Great location and beautiful view from verandah”
Couple who own property were helpful and funny. Motel was in great location particularly if you want to get sunset and sunrise photos of the apostles. Only short distance away, 3km on gravel road. No problems driving back and forth. I didn't eat at the restaurant but it was always packed, closest place to buy food is port Campbell but this was no problem for us
this hotel provided a very convenient location. the room is clean and big. inside the room, it provided microwave , coffee and keep in good condition. the owner john is a wonderful man who set up the hotel 20 years ago. i highly recommend tracellers to book this hotel
The motel caters mainly for Chinese tourists . ”
Barbara, the owner was great. We booked for two adult and 1 child but only had a double bed. Barbara arranged for a mattress for our daughter. It seems the Chinese sleep with their kids so if you book here make it clear if you are not all sleeping together. The facilities are very basic but clean and work.
The whole place was quite a bit run down since the last time we were here nearly 10 years ago. When we checked in the receptionist was very polite but could not speak very much English so communication was a bit difficult. The restaurant was not open but we could order a limited amount of Chinese food if we wanted. Breakfast was an egg, bacon, cheese and lettuce toasted sandwich with juice brought to our cabin which was okay. Flies were persistent and there were no fly screens on any of the windows or doors, but a can of fly spray was provided in the cabin.
Closed to Twelve Apostles”
Closed to Twelve Apostles (about 10 mins drive). The room was clean and comfortable. Limited internet access but definitely a good stay :)
It’s not upmarket smart, but it’s clean, spacious and the staff are warm and welcoming - nothing too much trouble and full of great local knowledge, we saw a herd of kangaroos because we were told exactly where to be and at what time.
Motel very near 12 Apostle but empty serrounding”
The motel very to 12 Apostle view, motel are with cooking appliance can cook, i book 2 rooms motel, the heater only at living room, room without heater if stay during winter will get cold and furniture are old. The location is good but surrounding is empty, at night is very dark without street light. Go with group or before sky dark is better, if only 2 pax abit dangerous. If you like to see star at night, this is good location. The owner seldom at reception counter need use intercom, and without WIFI.
Sitting so perfectly just out the way of the main tourist trap, this is a tranquil place but supplied with all essentials. Don't expect frills and you are fine. Dodged Roos in the evening as we drive down the dirt access track, listened to amazing bird life as night fell. Wine and supper on your own hut terrace is hard to beat.
Very good hotel”
Very close to twelve apostle but in quite natural environment. The host is a nice grandma and is willing to provide advice. There we even find a Koala on the tree and Kangaroo! The house is very big and grandma is very kind and prepared heater. Worthwhile to stay there for several days.
Perfect location, Quiet, Clean, Friendly”
- very close to twelve apostles; - quiet and lovely place to relax (kangaroos can be seen across the road at 8pm); - clean and tidy. all kinds of facilities provided (we had a great barbeque dinner in front of our room); - staff is very super friendly and helpful!!! the only drawback is the lack of water; consequently shower should be limited. but it's acceptable and could be a common case in this area. water is still enough for daily use, no worries. all in all I should strongly recommend this place and I will come back if I visit there again.
Lovely little place of the beaten track”
Loved this little motel and wished we had more time to make the most of it. The lady who runs it is welcoming and funny. As described by others it's not luxury, but is clean and has everything you need. We had breakfast which wasn't cheap, but then is anywhere is Australia? I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it others. Gutted we missed the kangeroos, but did catch sight of a possum on our stay.
Looks Can Be Deceiving”
It's near the 12 apostles but not walking distance. It's down a long dirt road, When you get there, it looks a little faded and dated but the room was big and comfortable, came with a kitchenette and your own barbecue. Could maybe use a paint job or a face lift but its fine for a night. We did not eat there (agoda - you need to give a NA option on your rankings of dining) but there was a restaurant on the premises. It's only open for an hour for dinner and breakfast. This kind of matters since its a little bit of drive to Port Campbell, the closest town. So if you have been driving all day on the Great Ocean Road, check in to the hotel and just want to chill out there, you may miss the dining hour and will have to get back in your car to find a place to eat. Also, no free wifi, which in today's world seems a little outdated. You are really out in the middle of nowhere so the owner said wifi was expensive so they charged for it. I could understand that so couldn't blame her. But the mobile phone connection was pretty bad so we didn't bother checking the wifi since I figured the speed and connection would be so slow, why bother paying for it. Overall, not a bad place.
Excellent Stay-over for Sunrise Twelve Apostles!”
My stay at the Twelve Apostles Motel & Country Retreat was excellent. It was my first time to stay in a cottage and to be so near to the country side. The place was very nice, cosy and have all the necessary things to stay over before I go to the twelve apostles for the sunrise. The cottage faced the wide green and horse and cows were running at the green! The owners are very friendly and we had a great time chatting! Thanks for the great stay!
it was very good..good value for money..quiet surroundings..peaceful..close to 12 apostles maybe 5mins drive..close to scenic helicopter flights..it was an awesome stay..would highly recommend to someone
