We stayed in the deluxe couple room for five nights, and from the moment we arrived, Christine welcomed us with a big smile. She was incredibly accommodating, explained everything about the house in detail, and even shared valuable local tips that made our stay better. Our room was spacious, featuring a large and comfortable bed with one pillow per person. The design was minimalist, with just a single piece of furniture for belongings—no bedside tables, hangers, or drawers for clothes. There was a sink for washing up inside the room, and next to it, the toilet room had the typical Indonesian setup: a WC, bidet hose, and bath shower all within the same cubicle, without a glass partition or curtain. Despite this layout, the water pressure was strong, and the temperature was consistently hot—perfect for refreshing after a day of exploring. The house itself was quiet, making it great for restful sleep. There was no street noise, though the early morning prayers could be heard—something unavoidable throughout Yogyakarta. Breakfast was included and featured something different each morning. The staff kindly accommodated our vegetarian diet, serving delicious meals daily. In the common kitchen, cold and hot water were freely available, along with tea and coffee, which was a thoughtful touch. Renting a scooter was easy and made getting around the city effortless. The location was ideal for exploring everything Yogyakarta has to offer. For us, this stay was perfect, but we recognize that preferences vary—those seeking a more Western-style experience may find the setup different from what they’re used to.
