Great service from the staff”

Friendly and attentive staff, nice onsen

It was a great pleasure to stay at Arima-Onsen Negiya. We spent a night at this hotel during our honeymoon trip to Kansai region and decided to have a relaxing onsen trip at Arima. The hotel prepared a very nice room for me and my wife (with great view and spacious traditional tatami room)and they prepared a little gift for us. The staff were very friendly and attentive to us. Dinner was served in the room and the experience is great. It is not cheap for the stay (inclusive Kaiseki dinner and breakfast for two) but it is definitely worth it. The onsen is also great, especially the outdoor one.

Relaxing stay in beautiful Arima Onsen”

Ambiance, baths, staff

We loved our overnight at Arima Onsen Negiya. First of all its a convenient walk up a very steep hill (thus good views) from the train station. It is surrounded by Japanese maple tress. You can start feeling relaxed the moment you arrive. The staff kindly kept our luggage when we arrived early and we could walk around town til check in. When we got back to the hotel our luggage was tucked in our room and there was a nice pot of tea waiting for us. The futons are SO comfortable and the baths, one newly renovated are clean and inviting. I can imagine how beautiful it is in the fall!

Services:Good service with kindness staffs. Especially for the Chinese guy who helped us with full of patience. Facilities:In spite of the facilities of the hotel was really old but it was a good experience during the stay.It was clean and traditional.but need to be maintain if possible. Location:we went Arima Onsen from KOBE,you have to go Kobe Sannomiya Station take a bus which go to Arima Onsen. Remember to call hotel arrange the pick up service otherwise with the heavy luggages was not convenient. Food:How big meal it is! It was truly traditional local food but for foreigners should be according yourself. Spa:Public spa was good but too simple.

Great value for the price”

Not only the location of this Ryokan (Japanese hotel) is near downtown, the facility is well maintained. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Their own Onsen (Spa) is worth trying especially the uphill one (they rotate between men and women). I happened to stay at the side with a great view overlooking the valley. There was nothing negative I can think of. Definitely will stay at the same hotel next time I come to Arima Onsen.

Good experience with local ryokan hotel”

Mixed with small sized western hotel and local ryokan spa, good breakfast, ride service from arima onsen station, friendly staff

I reserved halfboard plan which has double price than room only plan. Comparing my past expirence in other ryokan (betpu, kurokawa, hakone) the dinner was pretty disappointed. Even though it has many side dishes, there's no kobe beef and denpura, only small sized sashimi they provide main manu. Once i checked the price on their website, the price of my plan thru agoda was almost same. On the website people can choose dinner options, but they didn't ask me what can I choose. If you want to have Kaiseki experiece at local ryokan, you would better ask them for the dinner because options/ prices are variable. However breakfast was so great than any other my experience :)

Traditional Style”

This is a very traditional spa hotel, which likes 1980s. I live in the Japanese style room without a bathroom, so we need to go to the public bathroom as expected. There are two hot springs offered, and it will be rotated for men and women to spa everyday, so we can try one of them after dinner, and the other one in the morning. The hot spring is not big in terms of size. It likes x2.5 of my bath tub at home. but I enjoy the time there, which can make us feeling relaxed. But you won't expect a very big and nice dinner offered by this spa hotel. I will say the dinner is enough to make you just feel full, and no Lawson / 7-11 is required in further.

Overall very happy with the onsen experience at Negiya. The staff arranged pick up service for us at the bus stop. We are welcomed by lovely maple foliage at the entrance. The room was spacious and clean and has everything you need. Dinner inside the room was amazing, prepared and served by a very friendly happy staff. There are outdoor and indoor onsen for both female and male. Skincare products at the onsen are very good and also available for purchase at the lobby. Enjoyed the mountain view of the room. Had a good time with good food and kind staff.

I really like the hot spring in the hotel. It’s convenient for us to try both inside pool and outside one. If it’s in autumn, it will definitely be more enjoyable to see the gorgeous scenery . The room is big enough for 2 people. The dinner and breakfast are also worthy trying which are in traditional Japanese way. The service is sweet. I would like to recommend it to my friends ~

Good location”

Convenient location for a short stay in Arima. The rooms were of good size and we enjoyed the in room dinner but the breakfast was served in a main hall. I had easy communication with the hotel staff before the trip as we needed help to arrange a birthday cake and to add on Kobe beef to our dinner package (extra costs) but when we were there, the reception staff were not very helpful or maybe we had much better experiences in other onsen hotels in Japan so we have a different expectation. Free onsite parking. Onsen was OK and we were not informed on the closing time of the onsen so we missed out the chance to try the other onsen the next morning.

Quite impressive”

The location is not too far from the train station, but to reach it you have to climb up a steep route. And the road maybe dangerous at nighttime. You can only contact them to pick you up via phone. (At other ryokan, I can contact them via fb page. It's so convenient.) You can leave the luggage here but you couldn't choose your dinner time before you check-in. So if you reserve the dinner, you can't plan to go out far in the afternoon. You just have to wait near the hotel until check-in time and that's when you're free to go. The room is fine. The dinner is carefully serve. They ask if you have an allergy or not. It's delicious and has variety of food. The maid that serve dinner is so polite and suggest us how to eat each dish. The public bath is big but we found the cockroach on the paper cup. But I don't blame the ryokan because it's an outdoor bath. The English skill of night shift staff should be improved. It's hard to communicate. The breakfast is as good as other ryokan.

Pretty good.”

Of course outdoor spa as first, and cleaning, and the location

I have pretty much enjoyed all the facilities of this hotel. Water was quite clean as I expected, and the location was pretty good. I think it would be much better if the outdoor spa is more bigger. Since the weather quite cold at night and early in the morning, I could enjoyed the temperature of the water to the fullest. If you would like to try the traditional Japanese style room or things like that, I highly recommend this hotel. However, I used to like to have Japanese food before, the food this hotel served was not my taste unfortunately. Except that, I was satisfied with this hotel. Thank you for your services.
