Sweet and comfortable family-run hotel with a neighborhood feel”
We wanted to be close to the major tourist attractions such as the Grand Palace and Wat Pho and wanted to avoid the expensive, fancy hotels. We decided to book Neighbor Phuthon after reading the reviews, and we're glad we did. Located about a block off a busy street, the hotel has a real neighborhood feel and is remarkably quiet. We had the family room, which, though not large and very simple, was very clean and comfortable (with the most comfortable bed of our trip). The room has air conditioning, WiFi, and plenty of electrical outlets. Breakfasts are really good—each day brought different Thai breakfast treats that were delicious. The staff are helpful and friendly, and it felt like coming home each day after our explorations. It's about a 15 minute walk to a metro station, and the Grand Palace and Wat Pho are also about a 15 minute walk away. It's easy to catch cheap tuk-tuks and taxis near the hotel. Definitely recommend as a local alternative to the big hotels.

A Very Welcoming Small Hotel”
Neighbor Phuthon is a beautifully designed small guest house in a quite little neighbourhood near the Big Temples. The owner made us feel very welcome and cared for with his delicious coffees and personal breakfasts. The teak and cast concrete give the place a wonderfully contemporary feeling while holding onto the charm of being locally-owned and personably run. We thought it was a good jumping off point to explore the city, and I would recommend it highly.

Hidden Gem Near Best Attractions in Old Bangkok”
So incredibly happy to have spent my first trip to Bangkok here. The area is rich with delicious street food, beautiful morning wet markets, and magnificent temples all within several blocks. The service and attention to guests is phenomenal, as are the conversations I’ve had with the host family. I’m going to miss Phraeng Phuthon—but I’ll be back soon (and I’m bringing friends!)

Great place to stay in Old Town Bangkok!”
We were looking for a cool place to stay for one night close to the Royal Palace and so glad we found Neighbor Puthon. We initially chose it for the architecture (the building is 150 years old!) and location, but turned out it was so much more. The owner (who's also an architect) and all the staff were very welcoming, accommodating, and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds were so comfortable. We love that a lot of original details were kept and blend seamlessly with modern amenities. The breakfast was home-made and delicious, and the coffee was very good. Even though the hotel was close to a lot of attractions, it was very quiet. If you're looking for a nice place to stay while visiting Old Town, we highly recommend Neighbor Puthon. We will definitely be back again! (Don't forget to try the grilled bread at Puthon Bar just a few steps from the hotel!)

Delightful Boutique Hotel ”
We spent two nights at the Neighbor Phuton and had a very positive experience. Our room was clean and comfortable and Mr. Mongkol was a gracious host. We would definitely stay here again! Breakfast was included in our booking and was both delicious and filling. The location was ideal as we were close to many Bangkok attractions (Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Khao San Road) and it was easy to get a taxi or tuk tuk to venture further.

The place feels like home, very close to royal palace and other amazing places”
This was not our first stay in Bangkok. It was a great stay. The room is clean and nice. Although there isn't much sound isolation. We had people sleeping right above us and you can hear every footstep. We also missed a fridge on the room (first place we stayed in during our 6 weeks trip where we didn't have a fridge). Other than that a great and helpful host. Very friendly man. The breakfasts were great. Home-cooked food which was very nice. We were also there during a local festival which was superb. Our daughter also enjoyed this experience very much. The last thing is the location which is great. It's a 10 minute walk to the Royal Palace, Wat Pho and the ferry. It's also a 10 minute walk to Khao San road (if you're in to that). A lot of great food stalls close to the accommodation. I would definitely stay here again.

Feel the Thai pulse”
A small, friendly hotel located on a quiet square with small restaurants serving excellent food. The breakfast served at Neighbour Phuton is varied and delicious served with good filtered coffee. This is the best place to stay to discover traditional Bangkok. Besides, the Grand Palace, the most beautiful temples and the Chao Phraya river are all within walking distance. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Highly recommended.

Excellence, clean, friendly and conveniently located”
Stayed in the old town with locals for 5 nights. Great experience for us. We went to restaurants, messages, street food where locals go. All major attractions are within walking distance. Staff are super friendly and will come back if we visit Bangkok again. House is a Thai style so you might hear things if you have a noisy neighbour. We also wanted to stay in Thai house instead of concrete chain hotel. The inclusive breakfast is one of the highlights. We had our table and loved the Thai coffee. One of the best coffee I ever had.

Kind staff, 10 min walk to Grand Palace”
Pros: -Kind staff, M and his family really took care of us. For instance, he ran to his room to give us change right as we checked in at 2330 because our taxi driver didn’t have change, in the morning he and his family served us breakfast, and when it was time for us to leave for the airport he personally ran around the block to get us a taxi. He and his family helped load our luggage into the taxi and saw us off. We really appreciate their kind hospitality. -Free homemade breakfast, it was really filling and satisfying -The air conditioner in the room works great -Clean room and bathroom (a relief from the grimy public bathrooms), and they provide a mosquito repellant plug-in -You can walk to the Grand Palace (~10 min) and Wat Pho, or you can take a tuk-tuk -Free wi-fi with good connection Cons: -The building’s old as you can hear the wooden floors creak from upstairs, but this didn’t really bother us, we knew it was a boutique hotel. We were able to sleep soundly.

A Gem in Bangkok”
My friend and I stayed 4 nights and I would say, the owner and his nephew were the nicest people we ever met in Thailand. They are very friendly and helpful. We had a different homemade Thai breakfast every morning, it was delicious! The hotel has 8 rooms, so we felt home and that's why we can easily communicate with the owner. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the Grand Palace. Rooms are very clean and quiet. I highly recommend this place. I'll be back for sure.

Hidden Gem with Great Hospitality”
We really had a lovely stay at this boutique hotel. I'm grateful that we were on the top floor as I imagine it gets loud from the guests above for the bottom floor. The gentleman running the front desk was extremely kind. Fresh breakfast every morning was a real delight. Only major concern about this hotel is that initially it is quite hard to find. It is in an enclave down an alleyway and there is only a teeny, tiny a-frame sign with the hotel name written in roughly size 80 font. Our airport transfer driver had one heck of a time finding the place, even with Google maps.

I felt so good”
The host was so kind. I got a very warm welcome even when I haven’t arrived yet. He still contacted me to follow that I got the correct location or not. The hotel was good. The outside feels like Thai old style but the inside has Europe(?) architectures. It mixed well. I especially love the bed and pillows. It’s like the equipments of 5-star-hotel. It also nears the main road. I enjoyed staying this hotel.

Stay like a local”
If you want to stay like the local people during the old time, this is a good butique hostel to try. The boss and staff are very friendly and helpful. Many local food are around the area. Is near to the Palace. I was there to run the Bangkok Marathon and I got a good rest before and after the race.

Truely Thai”
Beautiful place to stay in the midst of the old city. You can pretty much walk anywhere, there are a lot of tiny cafes and thai food places around and a lot of locals. It’s located in a sideroad so it’s really quiet. We stayed at the Suite King and it was beautifuland very very clean and comfortable. They evenmade us delicious vegetarian breakfast. This place is beautifully authentic and the staff is really friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back.
