Good quality, good price”
Swimming pool, comfortable beds, staff
We stayed 1 night. The hotel located at quite area and no far from center and railway station. The hotel arrange wedding party, and we had possible to look how is going preparations for the wedding, that was interesting. Good swimming pool. The staff is friendly, specialty girl on the first floor. Dishes at restaurant were good taste, tea was tops. Our room clean, spacious, on the balcony beautiful view of the river and mountains.

overrated hotel”
the views from the top floor rooms are nice. the pool looked nice and clean.
When we got to the hotel we were shown a room which was supposed to be the Double Deluxe room that we had booked. But by the simple decor and flaky ceiling it was clear that it was just a Standard room. Upon complaining, it was admitted that this was a Standard room. Our room had been given away for some reason. It took the receptionist ages to find our booking and he was reluctant to compensate us accordingly. If it had not been for the chef who gave us a proper refund and also apologized to us we would have had more unpleasant arguements. Unfortunately, neither the internet nor the television worked But by then we had given up complaining to unqualified staff. Breakfast was ok, apart from lukewarm overly strong tea. When we left shortly after seven, nobody was around at reception. Maybe they do a good job at local wedding ceremonies, but definitely not when it comes to international travellers.

Worst hotel ever”
The Nestline Holiday Resort is the only hotel in Badulla town. It is quite far away from the town and from the train station (it seems closer in the map). The rooms were unclean (it seemed like the glasses on the windows had never been done, the floors were dirty), the sink was not working, either, the shower was lacking one of the closing doors, there was a hole in the bathroom wall and the door was not closing properly. tried to talk to the manager and he said he would give me a discount, but it was only two dollars, i.e. almost anything, Definetly, I'm never going back to this so-called hotel. I've been to guest houses a thousand times better for less than half the price I paid for the Nestline.

Only place to stay in Badulla ”
Swimming pool friendly waiter and price
The hotel is under renovation and thus dining room etc was dusty and not very clean. The pool area (which could have been pleasant) was also not comfortable as a result and dishes used by earlier guests were not removed. We spent 2 nights (one on way to Arugam Bay and one on way back) and though staff tried hard,we had all except one breakfast in our room. The swimming pool and views were pleasant and room was fairly clean. Road to Badulla is very poor and though the train trip from Badulla to Kandy is lovely, it might be better to wait until the road works have been completed and go via Ella or Nurelya to Arugam Bay. Thanks to Tiera the very helpful and friendly waiter. He made a real difference to our stay.

wedding hotel close to the city”
nice nature view from the terrace
try not to stay in badulla at all... when you have to, close your eyes and stay....there are no better hotels than this one new, but already run down and dirty. made for weddings...not for travelers. ac working poorly, dirty, bad staff performance, no wifi (nobody knows the password ! enjoy the rail journey the next day (at the time of writing the track was interrupted)

friendly staff and were eager to please even if most of the staff cannot speak English
The room s were fine though there was no water the following morning, which was a big hassle. Location is close to the train station. Staff were friendly. ..

Not a great hotel but it's easily the best in town”
Nice pool and mountain views, easy access to train station
The rooms are basic but comfortable enough. Nice pool, nice scenery and setting, standard rooms have 2 double beds and a balcony with a view, only 1klm from station. Good food selection and cheap. No beer allowed (Muslim?) but saw the staff carrying out a bottle of whiskey from the function and guests carried out a bloke paralytic. 1hr Wi Fi costs 50 SKR ($0.40c) but didn't seem to work. Staff have poor English but are friendly. It's not great, but where else would you stay in Badulla if you have to catch the train?
