Great Location and Hotel in the centre of Komtar”
New Asia Heritage Hotel is a hotel in Komtar that is near shopping malls such as 'Prangin Mall' and '1st Avenue Mall'. All walking distance, about 5 minutes. I recommend to take a bus from the airport to the hotel, since it's only 2,70 ringgit and takes about 40 minutes. You will arrive at Komtar terminal, and from there you walk about 5 minutes to the hotel. The location is great, and the staff were really friendly and always willing to help. The Deluxe room had a mini bar, tv, dvd player, aircon, shower, toilet, fan, and a balcony. Everything worked perfect and I thought the room was quiet big. The room was clean, except for the closet. Overall I really had a pleasant stay at New Asia Heritage Hotel and will come back again, because Penang is amazing!

This is an ideal place to stay in Georgetown.”
I very much enjoyed staying at the New Asia Heritage Hotel. The room was much bigger and nicer than I anticipated, and the internet worked perfectly. New Asia is right in the heart of Chinatown, with great street food steps from the hotel. It is also very close to where buses to Kuala Lumpur pick up, which was very handy. The staff gave me excellent advice on how to get to the Bujang Valley Archaeological Museum on the mainland, making that day trip cheaper and more efficient than I could have done alone. Georgetown is awesome, and New Asia is the place to stay!

Great location and great services”
The location od New Asia Heritage Hotel is in the center of Komtar. The hotel was surrounded by many famous food stalls and short walking distance to shopping mall. The staff are very friendly and helful. They even showed us the period of time which we can come back with a cheaper price. Compared to the other budget hotel in Penang, i think this is the best hotel.

my friend recommended the new asia heritage hotel when i told him my intention to visit penang. as listed 2 star, all rooms are on first or second floor, the double room is basic but pretty large and clean. we even had a choice of rooms with street view or inner room for less noise, which also has a window. the staff a very friendly and helpful in fulfill any of our request, showing us the attractions with helpful hints.

Great hospitality, good location ”
would stay again when i return to penang in new asia heritage for these few reasons : the front desk staffs are very helpfull especially who speaks excellent english with information on tourist site, transportation, food etc especially the location is within komtar,1st avenue shpng mall, heritage sites n most important -is actually a food street line up with many authentic local chinese food-just dont have that many days to try all the goodies ! the room are spacious w balcony,2 double beds, air con n fan as well. they even provide a selection of dvd for yr viewing pleasure.ask for it. the only issue is the size of the toilet but was told by the owner- it was exactly the same area size that was originally from the pre-war days and every effort to maintain the size with modern sanitation was really a great effort. see for yourself n u will know what i meant. we enjoy our stay very much.

Fun, Satisfying and Full”
It is such a pleasure to know this 102 years old building still stand strong and looks good. New Asia Heritage Hotel is situated in Kimberly Street, an easy access to the most famous Penang Street Food. Along the street, and at both its end, there are stalls that are highly recommended by almost all visitor. Prangin Mall is just a couple of minutes away and so it the bus stop for the free CAT bus. They hotel management has modified to room to add in a little toilet and shower. This are not in the original room design and hence it a bit smaller that what people generally have in mind about hotel bathroom. Our room has a balcony where we can have the full view of Kimberly street. Downside is, it may get a little noisy at night and early morning. Sound proofing in an old building like this is not that good. Recommend you get yourself a pair of ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Overall, this hotel is a delight to stay. It is one of the pleasant discovery I made in this trip.

Perfect for the BUDGET traveller”
We stayed here for 2 weeks over Chinese new year and the hindu festival in Penang. Everything was so expensive for accom, and I found a room here for £16pn which was the cheapest by far and a great location. I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but when i turned up I couldn't have been happier, the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful, they also upgraded our room free of charge which was great! As we were on a budget it was also good that there is a kitchen you can use as much as you like, and right outside the door step to the hotel is a night market every night with food. (There is also free water machines in the lobby area) So we had food to take away and ate in the hotel kitchen/ chill area. The wifi wasn't great but we had our own data to use which is super cheap anyway. Overall great stay I would totally recommend if you want a friendly homely hotel, good location and on a budget. Cons- The hotel could do with a renovation as said in many reviews before (but still does the job) The bedding has a weird towel like cover, but its not as bad as it sounds.

First impression may be deceiving”
Located right in the heart of old Georgetown. 5 mins from Prangin Mall. 1st impression can be deceiving. Entrance to the hotel is through 2 separate staircases up 1 floor. The grd flr is typical chinese business shops, messy looking but when you get up there, this place a CHARM! 1 of the entrances is closed by 10pm, the other by 1am. However, if you come back later than 1am, just call out from the entrance & the nice uncle will open the door. The tiles at the tiny lobby area were more than 100 years old. A huge seating area with airwell & water dispensers where you can get hot & cold water 24/7. There is also a small pantry where you can borrow crockery, cutlery, cups and glasses. Rooms - largish but the toilets tiny with hot water. Thin towels, soap & shampoo are provided. The deluxe family room has a nice balcony & 2 queen beds. Extra mattress is available for RM10. The family room had a little problem with the air conditioning but they fixed it. The bed is hard & bedsheets as blanket but for me, there are not important coz the place is really charming. The surprise came at around 6pm, the food stalls mushroom! There were so many stalls & this area serves one of the best chinese desserts in penang (tong soi). Most stalls are closed by 11pm. Come morning, these stall areas were replaced by other stalls - breakfast & wet market. There are a few other shops serving kway teow soup, dim sum etc. But a MUST try is the fried carrot cake stall that uses wood fire! It was REALLY REALLY good! We packed everything and ate at the hotel. Parking - road side parking. During the day, it can be a little difficult to find one. Tickets will be issued for parking. If you can't find the guy writing the tickets, you can collect all the tickets & hand the money over to the hotel reception. They'll pay it for you. Definitely will come back again despite some cons but its charm, location and availability of food cancels out all the minor cons! And the rates are cheap too.

Affordable hotel in Penang style”
It was nice to stay at the New Asia Heritage Hotel as it is only 10 minutes walk from Komtar, where every bus transits in Penang, and some shopping centers. You can also easily find very delicious hawker food near the hotel in the morning and night with very cheap price. The staffs are also friendly and helpful.

Favorite in Penang”
This is the ideal place to stay while visiting Penang. It is in an awesome location on Kimberly Street. In the morning, when you step outside the hotel, you are greeted by the most delicious breakfast foods imaginable! Same in the evening. The hotel has a wonderful, semi-outdoor room filled with tables to eat in so you don't have to eat out on the street. They also allow you to use the dishes from your kitchen should you need them. The location is close to two picture museums, Komtar mall, Armenia street area, and also Little India. It's the perfect locale! The staff at the hotel are beyond friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to see every day. I think the best thing about the hotel is the staff. We have been traveling for several months throughout SE Asia and the people who work here make you feel like you are at home. We are truly grateful for that. The room is nice, and has a flavor of its historical surroundings. The Wifi worked just fine, and the room was cleaned whenever requested. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back!

I'd definitely recommend New Asia Heritage Hotel”
i really enjoyed my stay at New Asia Heritage Hotel. The boutique hotel is centrally located. It's located on Kimberly Street which there are a lot of local restaurants. You should definitely try all the restaurants on this street. Besides, it's only 4-minute walk to Komtar - the main bus station in Penang and walking distance to other attractions in George Town. We stayed in a Standard Family Room. The bathroom is very small and they use a big towel instead of a blanket. However, The staff are super duper friendly and helpful. The hotel also have a kitchen where you can heat up your food and a dining area. In general, I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Great location in historical district”
New Asia Heritage hotel in nested in Georgetown, so if you like walking to great food and street art, this is a great location. Moderately priced, clean, and comfortable. The center area has some dining furniture and several water dispensers. A manager is there around the clock, and quite hospitable. Would stay again for short term visit.

Lovely, good value hotel - but noisy”
We stayed several nights at the New Asia Hotel and enjoyed our stay there. The room was basic but very clean. The bathroom was very small but perfectly adequate - it's basically a shower cubicle built into the corner of the room with a toilet and sink in it, a bit like the bathrooms you sometimes get in boat cabins. But with an electric shower there was no problem getting hot water and we were quite happy. The room also had a new flat screen TV and a quiet airconditioner as well as a fan. The hotel is very well located within an easy walk of all the main places. Best of all were the staff, who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We left late in the evening and they locked up our bags securely during the day, and let us use an empty room to take a quick shower before we headed off to the night train. The only downside was the noise. There is a large restaurant just across the street which has (in the local style) open walls. The breakfast noise started early and the room is not well sound-proofed! Overall, though, the hotel was excellent value for money and I'd stay there again.

Cosy Hotel in the center of Chinatown”
We spent only two nights in Asia Heritage, but we really enjoyed our time in there. Staff was extremely friendly and ready to assist us all the time. Our room was cosy and clean and everything worked well. There was good street food available right in front of the Hotel. We would really recommend this place to anyone travelling to Penang.

A nice hotel to stay with very friendly staff.”
New Asia Heritage Hotel is a very nice hotel to stay even it looks not so good from outside. The uncle is very friendly and always smile to customer. And the best is he is willing to wait for us to check in at 1am in the midnight. The hotel is location very close to Komtar where is the center of Georgetown. And we can get groceries and foods easily around the hotel.

Perfect location”
I stay here 3d2n with my family and a 1.5 years old baby. This hotel equip with free water filter/heater. a pleasant place for dining or chit chat. The best is, just down stair of this hotel, it is the penang famous Kimberly street food stall, and also walking distant the world heritage place, Penang famous red bean cendol, Komtar...etc . Of course, because of this hotel just at the famous Kimberly street food stall, it is quite difficult to find car park around the hotel by the time of 5-9pm, but no worry, after 9 or 10pm, you can easily find car park just beside the hotel. Yes, the room air on is not that cold, but it is ok to keep the temperature lower than outside. The space in the room is quite big. But because of this hotel is the old shop lot, and just beside the road, you can hear the vehicle sound quite clear (but it is acceptable for me). My room is facing the dim sum restaurant, early of the morning about 4++am, I can clearly hear the dim sum restaurant preparing the food. Overall, I quite like this hotel, it bring to the life of a local penang people, I definitely will come here again for 2nd time.
