The location of the hotel (near to the airport and the tram station) is very convenient to travellers especially to back packers.

Good hotel for an emergency time”
Good hotel for an emergency time
If you are looking for a hotel to sleep in, definitely not here. there are bedbugs in the room. I have had stings for 3-4 days, and they are not even completely healed yet.
Lousy Hotel Management ”
Had no air conditioning during a brutal heat wave even though advertised. Was eventually told there was air conditioning only on upper floors. No partial nor full refund was offered. Carpets so filthy you don't want to walk on them. Location directions not accurate on Google maps. There is a shortcut from the Tram #1 if you walk as if you are going to the McDonald's next door.
Additional Fee... Kitchen downstairs only, If you walking / public transportation forget it you have to make huge circle half kilometer circle to go inside this hotel.
Would not recommend ”
The staff the first night were very friendly however on our last day, the receptionist was very rude. She had a lot of attitude and kept eye rolling me and my friend. She was very snappy and made us feel uncomfortable. There was no need for her to be so hostile. The hotel is also very far out from the centre. We had to use two methods of transport to get to the centre which was like around an hour. There are no shops around the hotel apart from a Mac Donald’s.
Not worth its price”
A part from the friendly staff in the reception this place has no other value. It’s way overpriced and the cleanest is not the something they take seriously.
Do not stay here”
All the things it claimed it included for a "luxury room" was a lie. The floors were old nasty stained carpets. There was a big hole in the ceiling where I assume a vent was supposed to go. When we sat down in the restaurant, the menu was so dirty and gross that I couldn't bring myself to order the food. Also watched a rat run out the back door while it was propped open!
Bugs in the room”
Don't choose this hotel, the room was full of bugs and ants. I was bitten many times. The reception obviously know about this problem but they don't do nothing.
Pro's and cons of The New Century Hotel, Osdorp, Amsterdam.”
The Hotel is on the Western edges of Amsterdam, but is well served by the tram network, just 5 minutes walk. The staff were 'Generally' very good and helpful, although I felt there was undercurrent of stress in their working lives. My room was clean, bed was comfortable, unfortunately the telephone was unattached and had clearly been unwired for some time. Breakfast was ok, Apple/Orange juices was available, but their was no water one day. My friend and her son had a room where the air conditioning was not working, in fact it was like entering a greenhouse. We asked for a different room for her and she did get a more comfortable room. with openable windows. (unfortunately while I was asking for another room for her, it was clear there was many others who were complaining about their own rooms). Although there were some good aspects of this Hotel, I would say to any other customer who goes to the New Century, 'You get what you pay for and be prepared for the good and not so good'.
The whole place is falling apart , got stuck in the lift once. Too many things that are broken ”
Broken lift, broken door number, broken and leaking sink, broken air condition then when we had breakfast the coffee maker got broken too .then I asked the gentleman who was offering coffee if I can have English tea pls. Then she said I do not know English tea what English tea. I find it rude and sarcastic to think he works in hospitality and management environment where being kind and pleasant should be kept in mind. The lady receptionist also was kind of rude when I asked her that the air condition in the room isn't working. She said that room's air condition was really broken. If they knew about it why they even allowed people to stay on that room when someone is still going to come down and complain about it. I ask her nicely if I could switch room. She replied, " that is what I'm doing right now". Staff aren't nice and doesn't know how to treat their guests well.
Bad attitude of staff, far from city”
Negative: took 30min to check in as the trainee staff made sth wrong, attitude was bad; far from city, 45min to the center, its about 5min walk from tram no 1 if you know the way as it is not a proper pavement, instead a rocky shortcut road; no trash bin in the room; no toiletries; ac is centralized cant adjust temp.; you have to pay euro15 for only two hrs of late checkout Positive: its clean and enough space to open the luggage (if you book luxury room); there is a 24/7 mcdonalds right next to it
Good base hotel if you are a frequent Amsterdam visitor ”
Pros -Right by transport facilities -Staff were very friendly and helpful -Rooms were clean -Maccies right outside the hotel (Poor allergy control meant we basically had to live there for food) Cons -Poor allergy control so we had breakfast included but couldn't eat a thing -Hotel ran out of hairdryers even though stated on what was included in the room (But the staff tried their best to find one) -Not a first time visitors hotel as too far away from Amsterdam Centraal and nothing in the area
Room had a blocked sink and was smelling very bad. On the floor below, guests were smoking weed—quite unpleasant! Reception staff didn’t bother to ask if everything was okay, even during checkout.
Location far from the city”
Eventhough the hotel is quite new, I would not recommend this hotel especially if you have children staying in bec even though there is a tram you have to cross a busy road to reach the public transportation which is a bit dangerous. no direct walkway crossing that busy road from the hotel and it's a bit waste of travelling time everyday. Good thing there is a free breakfast and Mc Donalds just beside the property. The room is cozy, small bathroom, nice view but again its far from the city centre.
A few things could be further enhanced to give it great value for money and to complement it great location.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, the staff very rude to guests. I paid for luxury room which i did not get and the breakfast, oops the hotel was not serving breakfast and any food for my entire stay.
Clean and tidy, modern, good breakfast. Friendly staff.
Location is off”
Location is very far away! it's in the last stop of the tram but then you need to walk again!
Dirty and cold”
