Exceptional”
The structure is clearly decadent, I believe covid affected the whole structure, but the staff and guests are so friendly and room are comfy enough that you forget the rest. It's a very eclectic environment. Comfortable in the uncomfortable 😜😄 I'll go back

Great location... The staff is friendly and helpful... Value for money with a decent ded. No common are or kitchens at the moment with the current situation which is a let down everywhere but otherwise great place to stay.

The service was very good, but finding a mouse in the environment was very unpleasant and it seems that it is a common thing there. They should pay more attention to this.

Only A Good Option For a Specific Situation”
It's a hostel with a lot of "long termers". You'll have people of all ages and people who primarily live here/ may deal with homelessness. Also people with possible mental illness, talking to themselves. The area is not very good and the photos hide that. There's a lot of of stairs. That said I was okay but if you're not the kind of person that can deal with this it won't work. I wanted to rate it highly for the cheap price at least. But my roommate found some guy jerking off in the kitchen the morning I was due to check out and the shower fell apart while I was using it.

Please dont stay in this place, is very dirty, bad cleaning, no covid-safety, staff are rude, loads of cannabis smell, homeless people and junkies going in and out, to be honest I just slept there 1 night the next days i just stayed in my family house… but yeah if you don’t believe me go and see for your self… better pay a little more then come here

Extremely rule staff and big noise ”
You shouldn't expect a quiet evening since there has a pub with live band music downstairs. You'll even feel the floor vibration. Staff is extremely rule, what happened to me was that my dorm mate checked in before dawn so the receptionist was off. They bang the door roughly from 3a.m. until 6a.m. I was slept and the noise, I thought they were robbers so I didn't unlock the room door. ( Which makes sense you won't open your room door to strangers at 3a.m. midnight.) Until the next day the staff and the couple asked me why didn't unlock the door and blamed on me. The staff even throwing a tantrum on me with other matter too. First, I am not your door boy. I paid for my holiday. I have no responsibility to unlock the door for your customer. Especially I wouldn't wake up at 3 o'clock and unlock the door for strangers. Secondly, I am not a selfish guy. If the receptionist asked me politely on the previous day, I won't lock the door. Thirdly, it's the receptionist duty to settle the late arrivers but you told them to find ME! Your another customer! And speak like it's MY FAULT! Which I thought they were thieves until I woke up. And I had a bad sleep that night because of the noise. ( That guy keep banging the door.) I should be the one who is angry. This is the worse hostel I have ever stay.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOSTEL ”
This has been the worst experience of my life! I booked a twin private room for my guest and I to stay in for one night and it said that breakfast was included and that you could make a special request to have a room you can smoke in on the website. Upon arrival after checking in our room already smelled of smoke so we asked down stairs if we were allowed to smoke in the room but they said no so we didn't. In the morning I called reception to ask what time breakfast was and they said they only serve breakfast on Friday and the weekends. Bearing in mind that when I paid for the room it said breakfast was included. Check out time was at 11am so I arrived at the reception desk before that time to avoid being fined for late checkout. However no one was at the reception desk, I called the number for reception 5 times but no answer and I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to show up so I could check out and get my deposit back for the room key. But this is when the staff informs that I need to pay a £50 fine for smoking in the room because his colleague left him a note from the night before to check our room and issue a fine if we smoked in the room. However this staff did not bother to check the room but proceeded to charge me for the fine. Even though I tried to explain to him what was on their website and that we asked their colleague if we were allowed to and they said no so we didn't smoke in the room. He rudely insisted that I had to pay the fine because his colleague left the note and apparently some drunk people that were outside fighting all night saw someone smoking. Now I am currently in the process of getting a refund for the fine because not only was the entire place flithy, the staff were all very unprofessional and did not provide the service I paid for but are quick to issue fines without any definitive proof or evidence.

Hi We feel your review is very unfair. Smoking is not allowed in any hospitality setting in the UK. This is UK law. There are signs up explaining if you are caught smoking, you will be fined. You were smoking in the room, and because of this you was charged you then decide to write a very negative review. Regards NX Inn
New Cross bin!!”
It's like staying in a bin. No cleanliness smelly rooms. No proper pillow and mattress. The shared dorms are very bad idea to stay guests are leaving smelly clothes, shoes, no ventilation and wine burping and smoking/weed breaths in the room. Decent toilet and kitchen area tough.

we arrive 10am when check in time is 2pm x a kind staff says its ok to ckin as room already available x very cheap and afforadable x near london overground station x new cross or new cross gate station x but it would be noisy at night due a pub just below x ppl in need of quiet place shld avoid x

Such lovely and helpful staff members. Had a lovely stay at the hostel and they made it nicer. The only thing I was gutted about was the shower next door to our room was broke and we has to go upstairs to a different floor for it. But would definitely stay again!
