Excellent Location, Value For Money and Capsule”
My stay at New Japan Capsule Hotel Cabana for one night was really incredible and excellent. I would recommend the solo traveler to try staying one night if they would like to experience capsule bed and other indoor activities such as spa/sauna/hot bath/gym/swimming pool. These activities were really cool. Not only that, the location was excellent because it was near Namba area which was famous for night street. Perfect location yet it has good value for money. I will come back again if I visit Osaka.
Great Place to Crash for a Night or Two”
The New Japan Capsule Hotel Cabana is a great place to crash for the night if it's just you or a small group (3 maximum). You don't get much personal and sleeping space, but you get a lot of value in the amenities (if you use them), the staff are very helpful with what English they are capable of, and the location is convenient for those interested in Dotonbori. Located to the edge of Dotonbori, it is a 5-7 minute walk into the heart of the shopping and dining district of Osaka. You can go out and shop (but not too much as I'll explain why later) during the day and go eating and drinking as late as you want. The area is littered with shops, restaurants, and bars, and is close enough to the subway station for convenient travel around the region. Now, the reason you want to be careful about shopping too much and one of the novelties of this hotel is that it is a 'capsule hotel'. It means that your sleeping space is the equivalence of a spacious coffin. You don't even get a door to your coffin, you get thick blinds that you pull down and click in to hold. That should help if you are somewhat claustrophobic, but if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. What's neat about the coff- err... capsule is the use of space. You get a sleeping mat about the space of a single bed, you get a personal tv, some personal lighting, and an air circulation system. If you get the top capsule, you have to climb up into it, like a bunk bed, or like an astronaut. I find the latter explanation more interesting. So, as you walk down the hallway to your capsule, you'll see rows of these capsules stacked on each other, two-high, like a futuristic prison hotel. Unfortunately, the economizing of space comes with the drawback of not having any storage space. Large luggage has to be kept up with the front desk, off to the side, in a somewhat-not so secure space. That would also include all your shopping if it cannot fit in your personal locker provided to you, which is slightly wider than a l
An awesome capsule hotel.”
New Japan Capsule Hotel Cabana has a cosy atmosphere and attentive services. This hotel has many facililities and amenities too. Food is reasonably priced at the restaurant. The staffs I met can convey in english. Matsumoto-san, the manager helped me to retrieve my lost mobile phone. 本当にありがとうございました！ Location is perfect and the nightlife around Dotonbori is great to explore. This was my first capsule hotel experience in Japan and I really enjoyed my 5 nights' stay.
Enjoyable Capsule Hotel Experience”
Stayed one night at the capsule hotel just to experience what it's like. The establishment was crowded but the staff were polite and attentive. Capsules were new and well-appointed. But bear in mind that this is establishment caters to salary men who have missed the last train after a night of drinks. I was woken up in the middle of night by the sounds of drunk men trying to locate their capsule. Overall, i'd highly recommend a night's stay for a first time visitor to Japan.
Great value for the location and facilities!”
Capsule hotels are really built on the convenience for a one or two night stay. This capsule hotel definitely invites one to stay for extended trips. The reason lies in the facilities. There was a full-on workout gym center complete with 25-meter lap pool. On top of that a full onsen are with multiple pools, sauna, steam room, massage service, lounger area, etc. This place was decked out. If I had realized it had all those services I would have tried to check in earlier. The only drawback, and this is something I have with older Japanese establishments, is the cleanliness. Not that it wasn't clean, but the place could have used a fresh coat of paint, and the air filters on the fans needed cleaning. That is why I knocked off a star for "cleanliness" and "facilities". I didn't need the staff so I guess that was "good". All that said, the place was great, and the location was killer! Down the street from The Hatch, and opposite of a main food and night district in Osaka. Definitely a great place to set-up at while in Osaka!
It was an interesting experience, first time staying at a capsule hotel. It was my first night in Osaka and I came straight from Kansai International Airport. It is a bit far away from the train station (maybe 10 minutes walk), but not too difficult to find. The staff speak perfect English (at least for the 2 receptionists I met). You have to take off your shoes before getting in, put them in a locker, give the shoes locker key to the receptionist and check in. You will get a key for the locker and a key to get into the sleeping area. If you want to go out, you will need to give the keys to the front desk for security reasons. If you have large luggage that wouldn't fit in the locker, you can leave them outside at the front desk. I see people taking their large luggage in to the changing room for change of clothes. You have to take off your clothes and put on their blue shorts. Then take a shower and put on their bath robe. There is a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi on the second floor of the shower area. You have your own TV in your sleeping pod. The pillow was good, but the bed was a bit too hard. I got woken up in the morning around 6-7 am when the other people's alarms went off. At least I had jet lag at that time and couldn't sleep any longer. Overall, it was a good experience. I would do it again if I am traveling alone.
Excellent capsule hotel with great facilities”
Its location is extremely convenient (just steps from Namba subway station) and is very near popular areas for dining and shopping (Dotondori); It is well-equipped with relaxing and state-of-the-art facilities (Jacuzzi, swimming pool, gym and massage zone) to deliver theme-based professional comfort services; Its locker is tall and thin, which suits storage of soft baggage; Suitcases in cabin size can be placed in the check-in counter area; Capsule is spacious for sleeping and has power supply inside for charging up smartphone; Capsule was very clean and the serving staff were very polite; The restaurant that offered breakfast was fine; There are comfort zones that offer quiet place to sleep; Wi-Fi connection was stable and excellent; Highly recommended to travellers for a superb stay!
The Gym and Swimming Pool facilities are awesome!!”
The swimming pool is probably one of the cleanest pool i ever been to in my life! not surprise, is Japan anyway.. Overall everything was great, except the toilet for non-hotel guest is not as clean as the rest of the toilet in Japan.. It smells weird.. But there's another toilet in the capsule room which is perfectly fine! definitely will stay in again..
Excellent Capsule Hotel”
Stayed here for 3 nights, first time experience of capsule hotels. The staffs are friendly and speak decent English. You take off your shoes when you arrive and put these in a locker in the entrance. Then you check in and the reception gives you your locker key for your luggage and a key to enter the capsule part of the hotel. The lockers are very narrow but you can leave your big luggage at reception (limited space) or take them to your capsule bed. After you lock your stuff, you can access the shower and spa which I found very pleasant. There are several water spas and sauna rooms on the second floor with the Japanese showers on the first floor. There is a restaurant next to the showers which served a good variety of Japanese food and alcohol. Really enjoyed the restaurant after my shower and spa. Beds were comfy, clean and the capsules were fairly spacious. There is a TV, power socket and a bottle of water for you in the capsule. However, you cannot control the temperature in the capsule and it was a bit too warm on the first night. Understandably, people walk in and out and check in at late hours so there would be a fair amount of noise at night. I used earplugs and slept fine but if you aren't a very good sleeper, this could be an issue. Highly enjoyed all 3 nights of my stay and would recommend this capsule hotel especially for solo travelers.
Great for business or light backpackers”
It's a great friendly place for people who likes to travel light. There's isn't much place for luggage as the locker is very narrow, about 16~18cm across (but you can put your bulky items at counter). Things to note is that, because no locks for your personal capsule, your keep all your belong with you, in the locker or in your big luggage at locker. Hence it can be inconvenient if your have many items like camera, laptop etc. However if you travel light. You basically dont have to wear anything after you check in. Simply put on the blue boxer they provide and you're good to roam wherever you like in there. Even at shower, all is provided at the communial shower area. It can be a bit confusing at first, but their staffs are usually well verse in various languages and were more than happy to show me around. Location-wise, the place is right in the center of namba, so if nightlife is your thing, this is the spot. Dotonbori, various bars, even foreign bars like L&L and Coolabah are just 3min walks away.
just staying here was a great adventure on its own”
this was an excellent experience. we had never stayed in a Japanese spa (onsen) before, much less a capsule hotel, but it turned out there was no reason to be apprehensive. the amenities were tastefuly designed and very clean, with a spa, jacuzzis, hot pools, common showers, gym, pool, and dressing rooms with a nice seet of hair and skin products. the capsule beds were very comfortable as well. the staff were friendly an the location unbeatable, being situated along Dotonburi street. i just wish the lockers were bigger, and of course you have to be prepared to strip in front of other guests like in any Japanese spa but that's it. all in all, a great experience and for very reasonable rates.
It is a capsule hotel for men, and it is very comfortable. The attached sauna and spa facilities were exactly what I needed after my flight to Osaka.
Good Capsule Hotel”
The hotel is located close to Namba station with 5 minutes. The building is close to many food establishments, so you have many food choices in the area. The staff are very friendly, polite and courteous. You have to walk barefoot on the floors, and your shoes stored in the lockers provided. Inside the facility, there are separate rooms for the capsules (bedroom), showers, sauna and spa, gym, massage area, dressing and locker rooms. Bathroom is a common area, so you had to share amenities with the other guests. The also have a Japanese restaurant inside. The hotel is actually very convenient and comfortable. Everything is provided to the guests, including bathrobes, toiletries, grooming products, sportswear, and bottled water.
Great location - easy to get too”
Would highly recommend New Japan Capsule Hotel, I will return. Great acres to public transport and the eateries around the hotel are fantastic
Good location nearby shopping street & train station. Beside have Lawson convinience store. A lot of foor store arounf the capsule hotel. Staff are nice and helpful. The bath area is open and no individual bath room. Will recommand to friend if they travel to osaka.
Even as a capsule hotel, the experience was quite interesting. It has everything a capsule hotel has - a sleeping area with capsules (clean), a centralised locker area to store your luggage and valuables, a large shower / spa area (cleanliness acceptable), a tiny dining and resting area, even a gym (which I don't know how to get into). The only thing that got on my nerves was that you were forced (strongly recommended) to wear the lounge underwear/boxers and bath robe they provided while you are staying in the hotel. Everyone was wearing that and it looked a bit funny. The locker area was also the changing area, but there were female staff walking around and it's very possible they will see you naked when you are changing into the lounge shorts.
Simple and comfortable”
It's a great place if you are just stopping by for a night or two in Osaka. The capsule bed is clean and I slept comfortably. The facilities like the public bath, gym, etc are good too. The restaurant is pretty good and reasonably priced too.
The lockers for the luggages is not even close to the room so you have to go back to the lobby to get your stuffs Tattoos are not allowed in the pool and sauna area they have an individual showers for the people has tattoos But it is nice still because its closer to the main shopping area i would still recommend this capsule hotel
Capsule hotel is always much better than thought. Location is very near by Dotonbori road and even not noisy. Facility is very nice. Hot spring is so wide and many things to do there. I really enjoyed it during days! BUT, we cannot control water-temporature.. It could be hot for someone. Nevertheless, It was very pleasant and want to go there next time again. Please maintain your fare~
