Exceptional”

It's very convenient location, just across from Shin-Osaka station that's why I choose this hotel. When I put don't disturbed sign on, I saw there's 1 big bag fill up with a new amenity such a towel and more in front the door. If I can say the room and the bed is small for 2 people, but if you can get a good deal of price, it's worthy. For sure I'll be back anytime I have chance to visit Osaka again.

Can see the hotel from Shin Osaka exit”

Less than a 5 minutes walk from Shin Osaka station . Can see the New Osaka Hotel signs on the top of the hotel from the central exit. Did not eat at the hotel, but several restaurants on the street near the hotel and plenty of places to eat in the station. Rooms were clean. Easy train ride to Osaka - about a 4 minute ride. Quick and easy check in and out. Will stay there again!

Great hotel with central location”

Location food cleanliness

We stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms were a bit small but decent based on Japanese standards. 3 minute walk from Shin-Osaka station. For those looking for the hotel for the first time it is located at the Central Gate exit of the Shin-Osaka station. Location is quite centralised to main attractions of Osaka such as Dotonburi (15mins by subway), Universal Studios - Harry Potter World etc (20mins by JR line) and Osaka station is just 1 stop away and there is tonnes of shopping to be done there! Overall really enjoyed our stay there!

Nice comfort hotel at convenient location”

The hotel is clean and comfort, staffs are very friendly and there are also restaurants in the hotel.

The room rate is relatively cheap despite the location of the hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from JR train station “Shin-Osaka” and about 1 minutes walk from subway station. It is very convenient getting around to the nearby city such as Kyoto and Nara. Getting to the hotel is quite easily as there are express train services ”Haruka” between Kansai airport and Shin-Osaka station. There are also some souvenir store, convenient stall, and restaurant in the JR station. There is also free Osaka map available at the hotel lobby with the train map and recommended places to visit. The hotel does not provide Wifi service but they do have cable connection in the room.

Good hotel for a short stay”

The best thing about this hotel is that it is very close to Shin-Osaka Station.

The best thing about this hotel is that is very close to Shin-Osaka Station. Please note that Shin-Osaka is NOT the center of downtown Osaka, so you will have to use the trains to access Dotobori and other popular shopping areas which was easy to navigate in English. Before coming to Japan, I was expecting my room to be really small but it was surprising not that small. It was a good-enough size for a solo traveler. The room was clean enough, but not sparkling clean. The hotel was more of a 3-star hotel to me. I liked that the hotel provides pajamas, slippers, and toothbrush and toothpaste, which seems common in Japan. I did not eat at the restaurant in the hotel because Shin-Osaka Station had plenty of restaurants for food. Check-in and check-out was easy, the staff spoke English well enough. I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel for a few hours after I checked out to explore the city before departing for my next city.

Very Pleasant Stay”

Location, Value, Service

Location is fantastic: directly adjacent to Shin-Osaka station, so convenient for people riding the Shinkansen bullet train. Check-in was fast. Internet worked fine and was fast (no wifi, however). Complementary free drink at the hotel bar/restaurant was nice. The hotel interior is clearly older, but well-maintained. Rooms were normally-sized for Japan and the only problem was that power outlets were not particularly convenient, but still usable. Check-out went fast and staff was very efficient in holding our luggage for me until my return in the late evening. Good value considering affordable price in an otherwise very expensive area of the city!

Excellent Hotel”

Don't be fooled by the facade and lobby. The rooms are well maintained and very comfortable. I wouldn't say they are new but definitely not old like some guests said. The room was very clean and a little larger than my expectation. Location is excellent, literally next to the Shin-Osaka train station, subway line on one end of the station. Get your bearings right and its a short walk. Take the Central exit, down the escalator, walk towards the right to the end where there is a bicycle area next to the underpass, walk through and you see the hotel.

Very near Shin-osaka Station...Great value for money!”

The hotel is very near the Shin-Osaka Station, you can view the hotel from the train arriving at the station. It's a few minutes walk from the station and is conveniently located near station shops and restaurants. Room space was small but this was expected. Our family stayed in a double room, would have booked the twin room but since availability during our stay was scarce, I opted to book this room instead knowing very well that space could be an issue. I was surprised to find out that the bed wasn't as small as what I expected it to be! There's very little space to move around though but again, I kinda expected it to be so. Staff were nice and accommodating. Check-in and check-out was a breeze! Breakfast was fairly good and cheap (1000 yen for adults and 650 yen for children). Hotel was clean and bathroom amenities were Shiseido products. Too bad you couldn't bring them with you since they come in big bottles instead of the usual small travel size ones. Overall, great hotel to stay especially if you're traveling within Osaka.

Within walking distance to JR Shin-Osaka station. Small room but equip with all the necessary amenities. Room and sheets are clean
Nothing that I can say.

I would recommend New Osaka Hotel for people who are looking at affordable prices at great location. It is very near to JR Shin-Osaka station (about 5 mins walk) where the Shinkansen line is and that is very convenient for travellers who are planning to travel out of Osaka to nearby areas eg. Kobe, Himeji, Kyoto etc The rooms are small but comfortable enough. With such affordable prices and location, it is really a steal.

Fantastic service and delicious breakfast!”

Free buffet breakfast and welcome drink. Close to train station

We booked this hotel last-minute for a one night stay in between cities. The room was a decent size, there was free welcome drink, and free buffet breakfast. The Western and Japanese style breakfast buffet was amazing. All sorts of breakfast items and beverages to satisfy anyone. The location is great. It is a short walk (about a block) from the Shin-Osaka train station. There is also a laundromat nearby for those who need laundry services. I highly recommend this hotel. I wish we could have spent more time here.

Value for money”

For the price of this hotel, I would say it’s reasonable. It’s 8 mins walk from Shin-Osaka and can get us to many of the places we went easily. The twin room that I stayed i feel that is actually smaller and older than what the photo appears it to be. Other that that, I think it’s really decent.

Hotel very close to the Shin Osaka station. ”

The hotel is very close to the JR Shin Osaka station. Convenience store 7-Eleven is right next door and Lawson is just across the way. The room size and bathroom size are typical for a Japanese hotel. The only down side is that the air conditioner wasn't cold at all. This was a very warm mid to late October and the room was warm. I had to leave the window open to cool the room down. Luckily, the trains don't run all night, so it was quiet enough for me to sleep. This was my second time staying here and will probably do so again on my next visit. The hotel suits me fine, as I'm out all day and the room is only for showering and sleeping. I don't lounge in the room too much. A nice big flat screen TV is on the wall.

Excellent hotel. Recommended”

Location! Price. Breakfast buffet. Reasonably clean. Bathroom. Doubles are good for budget minded couples.
Not particularly large room, but it is Japan! Totally fine for sightseeing on a budget.

Why pay a premium for a hotel in Kyoto when you can stay here and catch the train? Clean rooms with bath, tea provided. Great budget place to base yourself for exploring other parts of Japan. We stayed three nights here and used our Japan Rail pass to access Nara and Kyoto, plus Osaka's nightlife. It's less than a few minutes walk from the Shin Osaka shinkansen trainline! There is a breakfast buffet not included with our booking but well worth the 1000 or so yen - it included Western food along with Japanese. Staff spoke English and were helpful.

Great hotel location”

Location is good as a base to travel to other parts of Osaka as it is a few min walk to Shin-Osaka Stn and subway. Only 1 pillow was provided in the room but that was easily and quickly sorted by asking for another at reception. Room was clean but small (as most Japan hotels are) but given I was out exploring most of the day, I had no issues.

Comfortable, affordable hotel near Shinosaka Stn”

Close to station, comfortable beds, good staff

The New Osaka Hotel can be spotted from the Central Gate of Shinosaka Station and it's less than five minutes walk to get there. Check-in was easy - most of the staff spoke good English. The rooms are decent size (for Japanese hotel standards - I've stay in much smaller) but the bed is a great size for one person but a bit too cosy for a couple (my parents did find it a bit too tight for them and they're quite petite). The hotel provided money exchange (US$ only) which was very handy since street money changers are almost non-existent (need to go to a bank or post office). Shinosaka is on the red Midosuji Line which goes directly to Shinbashi/Namba/Tennoji stations which is great for shopping, direct train from Kansai Airport and also has direct trains to Kyoto. I would definitely stay here again!

Avoid their laundry service”

The hotel is really nice and it's less than 5 minutes away from the train station Shin Osaka. My advice, avoid their laundry service, it's ridiculously expensive, I paid 12.000 JPY for laundry, which is too much, and when I went to pick up my stuff, half of it was missing and they simply didn't know where it was ! I was packing as I was leaving the day after and the guy at the reception was completely lost, they charged 12.000 JPY and had no control of I had left, so ridiculous!!!! The other impossible thing is when you leave the hotel, they don't have an elevator that takes you to the lobby, you have to carry your heavy luggage all the way down, by yourself! Anyway they need to improve their service a lot more !!!
