Stayed Twice, overall great but found a bug in the room”
It's great location, and very convenient to get things I needed. However, on 2nd stay, I found a bug in the bathroom. Quite surprised;;;; However, first stay was satisfied, I am willing to go back if bug situation is taken care of
Very convenient location. Good quality price ratio for Tokyo center town. Breakfast is very good and front desk professional.
Cant beat the location”
1 minute walk from Osaki station and several rail lines available including Yamanote, Rinkai. Very easy access to any part of Tokyo. Convenience store just downstairs and plenty of restaurants around with even more choices to Yurakucho, Shinagawa or Gotanda. Very clean.
Convenience & Value ”
Great spot on the Yamanote line, three mins to Shinagawa Station for NEX & Shinkansen. 15 mins to Harajuku and about 17 mins to Tokyo Station but transfers at Shinagawa are much easier. Lawson is right at the entrance and open 24 hours - hotel is above a supermarket, Daiso and many good value restaurants and fast food options. Rooms are basic but good value and staff were very helpful. If you don't have the JR Rail Pass and plan to do some exploring for a day around Tokyo you can buy the "Tokunai" pass from the ticket machines at Osaki Station for 750 yen which covers you all around Tokyo for your day's travel.
Unprofessional hotel staff”
I had always held the Otani hotel chain branding in high esteem. Planned a 8days trip to Tokyo travelling with 3 seniors and had looked forward to a long awaited getaway in Tokyo. However I was slightly applauded by the service attitude of the hotel staff over at New Otani Inn Tokyo. Enquires and requests were mostly met with irrelevant replies or blank expressions due to the lack of command of English. I do not expect spoken English to be widely used in Japan. However as service personnel at a hotel dealing with international guests, the least the staff can do is to attempt to understand or to seek help if he or she has difficulty understanding the guest. It was painful to make myself be understood in front of a personnel who was supposed to assist you with queries. An example will be that I was asking if I needed to make a reservation for the hotel breakfast for the next day. The only reply from the hotel staff was “Pay!! Pay!! Pay!!” Speechless. I am not one who gives bad reviews for anything. However, I got to remind myself, to never ever step into New Otani Inn Tokyo as a paying customer ... ever.
Affordable hotel near Tokyo”
This hotels location is great if you want to stay outside of Tokyo, but be an easy 20-30 minute train ride from the city center. It's a few mins from Osaki Station on the JR Yamanote line, and is close to a mall with several restaurants, although most don't seem to speak English. The room was a good size with all the normal amenities and the staff spoke fairly good English. I would stay here again.
good clean 3 star, no wifi in rooms ”
Don't confuse this with the New Otani Hotel - which is a 5 star luxury hotel located 20 minutes away. That is gorgeous, but for our purposes this hotel was better. It is above a 3 story shopping center - grocery store, hair salon, drugstore, many restaurants. If you want high-end shopping - take subway to Shibuya 10 minutes. It is connected via walkway to Osaki station - which is a manageable size but still good connections. Last time I stayed near Shinjuku station which was overwhelming. Rooms are good size for Japan, beds comfortable, very nice bathrooms. Good wifi in lobby, but in room only LAN access at $18 per day. The rate through Agoda was fantastic- less than half of anything comparable, but if you want to change anything later, they charge the full rate. Staff attentive, English skills adequate. Lots of tour groups seem to use the place - seniors and highschoolers. We'll stay here again.
Easy access to train station”
Pros: 1. Convenient access to train station. Can be accessed from the hotel by walking across the bridge. Convenient access to Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shibuya, and stops along the JR yamanote line. Disneyland, Odaiba is accessible through this station using the Rinkai line. The airport-hotel transfer can also be accessed cheaper through the Narita Sky Access line, which stops at Shinagawa Station. From there you take the JR yamanote line and stop at Osaki Station. This saves you $30 per person. 2. Situated in a business district-commuters are mostly business men and women. Crowded only during work hours. 3. The hotel is located near a business building called Gate City Ohsaki, where several fast food and dine-in restaurants are conveniently located. Also Starbucks and fee wi-fi is available here. 3. Clean and decent room for the price. 4. 24-hr convenience store and burger king located outside of hotel. Cons: 1. Rooms are tiny. Semi-double room will fit a family of four (2 adults and 2 children under4) but the bed would be small. Also no room to store your luggage. 2. No free wi-fi or other amenities such as swimming pool.
Nice hotel, very close to JR station”
Hotel is nice, clean but the room is a bit small but OK considering that they are at the central of the city. I didn't try the food at the hotel but there are a plenty of good restaurant attached to the building. There is a shopping centre attached to the building as well. The hotel is very close to JR station Yamanote line with 2 minutes walk. This allow you to access almost all of Tokyo attraction easily. Generally, highly recommend to stay.
Very comfortable hotel”
Hotel's location is the best! The entrance is connected to Osaki JR station. But if you're going to take taxi, don't forget to tell driver that you're going to "new otani INN", not "new otani hotel". They're not the same. Room is very vast (we booked twin). There's plenty space to walk and place your luggage. But bathroom is a little bit small, but clean though. You'd find lots of good restaurants, coffee shop, mini mart, big drug store, supermarket, and shops downstairs! I'll definitely book this hotel again :)
walking distance from JR Osaki station”
I would recommend this hotel for business travelers who want to stay close to Tokyo's business districts. It's a two-minute ride to Shinagawa Station where you can take the Shinkansen to any point of Japan. Also, there's a bunch of restaurants adjacent the hotel, the New Ohsaki City, along with a supermarket.
Good location and convenient”
Big room for Japanese hotel standard. Convenient for transportation and dining places. Basic animities are available from tooth brush to yukata ( night wear). Recomended for those who prefer convenience.
Great Location for Family Traveller”
Very good location as it is just adjacent to JR Station. On the next building, there are lots of restaurant, supermarket, drug store, and Daiso store.. super convenient. Although the room is quite small but the function of room is just great !!
real bad English ”
staff are lack of experience , staffs are never smile
Very Bad Attitude”
Though I can understand that choosing some optional services like Higher Floor or even Non-smoking room are non guaranty, however, I was very sorry and upset for Mr. NIWA's very BAD ATTITUDE which actually not only ruined my wife and my moods from very beginning of our trip in Tokyo but also very harm the company's reputation of New Otani Inn. We will never to choose New Otani Inn if he has not any response and improvement.
Perfect location, cozy and value for money! ”
I was in semi-double, the room space is good enough for one or two person, but the bed is a bit fit for two adults, by the way i think it’s reasonable compared to its price . (and it was my choice to stay so) Staff were helpful&welcome. facilities are all well provided in room. Actually, I really loved how they put the ice-making machine in self-service section on each floor :) . Again, all is good compared to its price and a perfect location, I really appreciated this hotel I would recommend it to others and come back again :)
Do book the double room.”
The room is slightly higher price but refurbished and spacious in JP hotel room standard. I was put on 12th floor and it is true ly non smoking floor. Toilette was from Shiseido. Value of Money. New shuttle nearby JR direct to Narita airport that save $ and time ( just 80min on highway) .
Good location ”
The location is really good with train station just step away. Generally because of the convenience, can't expect the building to be very new, i would say that everything was well maintained, the bathroom is really clean
Location not where we expected”
We were expecting this hotel to be closer to Tokyo Station than it was - we had to catch another train 4 stations away and ended up in the business area rather than the shopping area that we had hoped for.
Excellent! Great Location & Value For Money”
Excellent location. Next to shopping malls, office areas and just in front of Osaki station which is inside the Yamanote line (good access to reach famous places like Shibuya, Akihabara, Ginza etc.). Friendly english speaking staff.
