Delightful hotel with excellent service”
Wonderful staff, comfortable surroundings and relaxed atmosphere
if you're looking for a dog/family friendly hotel, look no further. the hotel staff were fantastic and so welcoming, making every effort to make our stay enjoyable.
the setting is peaceful with forest/park walks, wild deer, horses and pigs in the grounds. its also easy to get to from london.
the room was pretty decent, with a very comfortable bed, country views, but sadly no proper shower - it had the sit-down in a bath type, and most rooms are apparently like this.
our dog got a bit poorly during the stay, and the staff were so helpful. nothing was too much trouble for them. i have to say that all the staff were excellent!
the spa is good with a decent range of treatments and reasonable prices. we thoroughly enjoyed the sauna, pool, hot tub, etc, but the treatments lacked the 'wow' factor. we we'ren't asked if we wanted anything specific, and when we made requests they weren't really addressed as well as they could have been. massages were relaxing, but if you want deep-tissue massage, you might be disapointed. the massage beds were also very narrow and felt a bit precarious.
despite that, we had a lovely two night stay and would certainly consider going back.
