facilities covers more than the price

hotel is in peaceful location . it is centrally located all the markets are within walkable distance. hotel staffs are friendly. room are spacious with all facilities as mentioned in their terrif. it is old colonial building and tastefully decorated. i think they need to spray mosquito and other insect repellent which is usual in colonial building. it is worth the price i paid. i would like to stay there again.

      Original old villa”

The size of the villa & grounds - Huge!

This is one of the original old chinese villas, just crying out to be renovated into a smart boutique hotel. It could be a lot cleaner, but for the price and the situation (opposite a new food court) I'm not complaining. It was close to Chinatown and within walking distance of the whole of Georgetown, but quite at night. The mattress was very comfortable, air-con worked and had WiFi in the room. Hot and cold water is free & available any time of the day for coffee/tea.

staff are nice, location is good.

New savoy is not bad but it definitely need refurbishment. The building itself got a lot of character but it is a bit too old. The bathroom is clean but it's not quite up to the standard. It's OK for budget travellers. The room is big and it is right opposite the New world food centre and next to the penang gallery. Another good thing is staff are very nice and helpful.

      Great Location,”

      Old world charm

Rooms are big and airy, staff friendly and easy going, ample parking is good as streets in Penang are narrow and one way, difficult to find parking space.Walking distance to lots of places,e.g Komtar,Pragin Mall, market where plentiful good local hawkers food available.However.condition of room though clean, windows can't close properly thus mosquitoes bugged us and wee hours water supply disrupted.

      A classical oldies!”

      Spacious rooms with good price

I booked 2 double rooms for a few of us who were going for the Penang Bridge International Marathon. Since max no. of occupants is only 4 pax, we were thinking some of us might have to stay somewhere else. To our surprise, each room actually comes with 1 queen bed & 1 single bed! The rooms are spacious. With such pricing in Penang town, we think it is value for money. The old bungalow is really old & u can tell from its toilet, door, light switches etc... All are still functioning well though. We spent 2 nights there, and it was quite a pleasant budget stay.

      Colonial-era Hotel”

      Functionality, parking space

The hotel is a very old, 2-storey building. The management and staff are responsive but not intrusive. For Malaysia, which is more expensive than other S E Asian countries, this hotel is value for money. If you need a guaranteed parking spot, this is the place. It is a 15-minute stroll from Chulia street so you are close enough without the disadvantages of being in the centre of a crowded noisy tourist district. I have no complaints but I would probably try somewhere else next time I stay in Penang just for a change.

Good location for food n lots of parking space

the hotel is actually a pre war building. so everything in the room is of grandmom's age. however the room is clean but the beds are a bit weird. we booked a room for 4, as appeared in website but we were actually given a queen size bed and a approximately 4 foot bed which actually is too small for 2 persons. we did complain to the hotel personnel and answer given the charge for a bigger room was more expensive than what we had paid. our point is the website is very misleading because to our understanding a room cater for 4 persons should always come with either 2 double beds or 1 double and 2 single beds. anyway, we feel that there was no poiunt to argue with the bangladesh worker, don't think he can do anything.

      Rough start, fine finish”

Convenient to Chinatown, inexpensive, spacious rooms

Starting out, I was a little disappointed by what I found at this hotel. It seemed close to nothing, few amenities, and next door to a mosque that put out call to prayer at 6:15 am or so every morning. The staff was very friendly, though, and very helpful at making sure I knew how to get around. Convenient to Chinatown and not too long of a walk from Little India and the ferry, with a good outdoor dining facility across the street that includes a White House Coffee and a Starbucks. The mosque wasn't nearly as disturbing as I feared, as well. As for the room, it was obviously old, a little dark, and kind of weirdly arranged, but also unique and definitely spacious with two beds big enough for four people without any problems.

we stayed in a room which has 01 king size bed and 01 single bed and it fits 04 of us just fine. the room is clean and spacious as the origin of the hotel was an old mansion. the bathroom is very big with hot water. hotel has ample parking area for the visitors. they also have room to room telephone provided. we went out quite late and returned to the hotel at 3am and get scolded by the housekeeper. they will lock the main door at night and you will have to wake up the housekeeper if the door is already locked. it is quite troublesome if you would like to go out late at night.

Simple, old fashion hotel with basic facilities.”

big and normal one star hotel

will be a bit creepy if watch too much of horror movie...it's like hunted house....haha...it's big and old. it will be nice if u dont think too much. actually nothing happen at night. i booked 8 pax family room, but the room come with 2 single bed and a queen size bed with 5 pillow only...(how to sleep 8 ppl) but the room is cheap, so nothing to blame. but the queen size mattress is hard. the other 2 single bed is soft and comfort. air-cond is cold enough. washroom with water-heater.
