Quite far from the train station but overall a nice place to stay in.”
The hotel room as usual.. small but it was to be expected. This is Japan for goodness sake and for the price. It was great. Toilet is right out of the room and the shower room was at the basement of the hotel which may sound weird for some people but it was fine with me. There a TV in the room if want to watch but one bad thing was it was located pretty far away from the Nagoya Station (15 minutes walk). It took me sometime to find this place. Price was decent for a private room and so I got no complains about the hotel. Service wise. Accessibility and rules were explained when I checked in and luckily a paper memo was passed to me as I had some problems trying to catch what they were trying to explain to me. There were a couple of conbinis around the hotel if you need anything at night. Overall. It was a nice 2 nights stay in that hotel.

Good and cheap!”
The room is very small, clean and location is good, It's close to Nagoya station but it was a little complicated to find it as the location is busy and lots of hotels around. The hotel is in a mean avenue in a busy road. The price is fair for what are you getting. For 1 or 2 nights this hotel is perfect if you want save money.

Good choice for single travellers”
After horrible experiences at Nagoya Capsule Inn, the days in New Shochikubai Hotel are a paradise time to me. Recommended.

Great place to stay for single travelers ”
Location of the hotel is awesome. It was not very hard to find even when it was my 1st time. About 5-10 mins walk from JR Nagoya station from the exit, you can see one nice big "BIC CAMERA" building. There is convenient store right next to it and lots of great places to eat no more than a min walking distance. It can be bit troublesome to take a shower as it's located at B1 of the building and has time limit from 5pm ~ 9am. Overall it's a one of the BEST hotel that can be consider for.

Happy with the Stay”
First the negatives - expect a very small room, especially for the singles as there is literally not much room left over once you open your suitcase. The level of English from the staff is low but this is Japan. The front desk staff go home after 11:00 pm so make sure you check in before this time. You can still access the hotel after this time but there will be no-one there to give you a key. Check out is 9:00am and the hotel will not hold your bags after noon. There are lockers at Nagoya station but these are very much in demand. Now the positives - the hotel is very clean and the shared toilets and showers are in good condition. There are coin operated clothes washers and dryers located downstairs. The internet connection is very good and very reliable. There is a good selection of dining places nearby and the area around Nagoya station is an upbeat area. Having the 7 day Rail Pass I found this hotel a great location to explore many of the other cities nearby - Hiroshima, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Takayama and Tokyo. The staff tried really hard with the English and always had smiles on their faces when communicating which was appreciated. Considering the general cost of hotels in Japan I was more than happy with my stay here.

Reasonable accommodations”
Although the room is considerably cramped, if sleeping is your main purpose it's not a big deal because the room charge is very cheap. But it's good distance from Nagoya station than I expected... I think this hotel may be more accessible for foreign tourists, describe some further information: First you receive your room key at the front desk at the 1st floor, and get a bath towel setting beside there, and then take the elevator to your room. A face towel, tooth brush and slippers are put in your room. The shower room is on the 1st basement floor and 9th floor(women only). Also you can use hot water at the shared space of each floor. In the night, although the front desk closes, the door of the elevator hall opens for 24 hours. When you'd like to checkout, don't need to go to front desk, just put the key in the small case in your room, by the door. Please note - the checkout time is AM9:00, just little bit earlier than other common hotels.

6 good nights sleep!”
If you plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel, maybe this isn't the best choice. But if you need a nice and comfy bed for rest and sleep, while exploring Nagoya with its surroundings, this is the perfect place. Small rooms with shared toilet and shower (women and men separate), but very neat and clean and just a few minutes from the station. No breakfast so a tip: Café Pronto at the same street, just opposite the station!

Close to Nagoya station and well priced.”
The staff are friendly. The old lady is pretty funny. The rooms are fine for business travel or solo travel on a budget. Good showers and laundry facilities. Really close to Nagoya station, so easy access to the rest of Nagoya. Close to heaps of 7/11 style shops etc. I would go back there.

The host is really warm.”
the bath room is in the underfloor, so need to take elevator to there. but the place is really near to the nagoya station, 5min walk. the room is clean and warm with air condition and TV. What's important, the staff, a old lady, is very very kind.

Cheap, but nice hotel”
Though bathroom is shared and it is located on B1F (for men, 9/F for women), towel is provided each night. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Thought I speak Japanese bad, staff still tried her best to understand my wordings. Location is also good, 5 min walk from Nagoya Station, and 1 min walk from the closest bus stop; there are also many ACGN shops nearby (e.g. Animate). It is a nice place if you want to save money. Checkout is self-helping. You just need to put the key inside the box inside the room. Paid-laundry is provided, and free detergent is provided. I also bought things using Amazon, and the staff will help you collect your goods. The only drawback is that the walls do not block sounds well, I can always hear the sound of TV from next to my room...

Centrally located & budget hotel”
The location is great, just a few minutes walk to JR Nagoya Station. It is also many convenient stores at the surrounding. With this range of price, the room provided is considered supreme. But of course, you will need to take a little walks/lift to your bathroom located at ground floor. There is also a bathroom just for woman uses at other floor. Anyway, the sound resistance at the room is suck that you will probably need a ear stuck to get a nice sleep. Even a little sound at your next room will make you awake couple of times a night.

Average hotel”
The staff don't really speak much English so it is difficult to deal with any problems if you don't speak Japanese. The hotel is well located near the main Nagoya station. The shower facilities were very clean and I was impressed with those. The room is small...just a bed and a desk. The toilets are communal which I wasn't keen on.

Very good”
The rooms are decidedly small, but you get to be right smack in the middle of the action in Nagoya station, even dare I say their small Otaku neighborhood. There are plenty of shower rooms (much so if you are a guy) and every floor has a restroom. I had an enjoyable time in this hotel even if a bit cramped.

Okay for a night's stay”
The hotel was a bit hard to locate, but it is a about 10minutes walk to JR Nagoya Station. Very small hotel, from the check-in place to the rooms but everything was clean. You'll have to check in between 4pm - 11pm, if you arrive after 11pm, you might need to check in the next day. Free wifi provided.

Near Nagoya Station, affordable, great staff”
Although the rooms are pretty small, the hotel has a decent location. It's only a few minutes walk from Nagoya Station. The laundry area is a plus if you didn't pack much and have some funky B.O. smell on your clothes. Cool guy allowed me to check,in early despite earliest checkin is at 4pm. I mean it was really really early. I made him laugh though about my request and he was accommodating. Overall, good bang for your buck(yen) if all you're looking for is a place to crash. Some negatives can be the room is claustrophobic at times and the walls a bit thin.
