Value in a Great Neighborhood”
New Siam II is our Bangkok Go-To. It is across the street from The river, so the prices are lower than those at its sister property, New Siam Riverview. If you want a balcony with chairs and a view, go there. But for our m needs, the small balcony with a peek over the pool suffices just fine. There is an elevator, a restaurant/bar, laundry service, and they keep the pool nice and cool-- perfect for a dip after sweating your way around the neighborhood. Two doors down from a fantastic noodle shop and within walking distance of tons of coffee shops and street food vendors. Nearby Rambuttri provides with all the elephant-pant watching and cheap t-shirt buying you can hope for/stand. The staff is extremely professional, always friendly, communicate well, and are excellent hosts. They provide on-site travel arrangements as well.
First off. A five star it ain't. It doesn't pretend to be neither do the prices. The first time we came to Bangkok, we stayed somewhere near the airport for the first night then took a cab to Kho San road. We had no idea where we were going to stay. My wife accosted a German lady walking by and asked for a recommendation. She started to give us directions and just gave up and took us there. We have been to Thailand for ten to twelve years now and every time we stay at New Siam II. It's a ten minute walk to the boat, ten or so to Kho San. Much activity around and every thing is at hand. It cost us less than 300B to the airport by metered taxi at 5 A.M. without taking the tollway. Later, it will be slightly more and the tolls may be desirable. We can't imagine better value.
Dear Zenon, Thank you for being our loyalty guest and so glad to hear that you were enjoy and happy with your stay certainly this time too. Please rest assured that we will work harder to make our valued guests (like you) stay the most perfect one.Looking forwards to welcoming you back soon. Regards, Pattanapong N.
Me and my boyfriend had an amazing time at new siam II guest house! It is located in an excellent location, on a quiet side street but close to the main street with a lit of restaurant and nightlife. The room was spotless clean, they have a laundry service, a restaurant and a nice pool! We would definitely book it again!
For the price & location you cannot do better than the New Siam II. I stay here everytime I'm in BKK because it's just the best. The room is spotless, the pool is clean and a great temperature and the staff are very helpful and accomodating. Also, you're right there next to Rumbhattri/Koh Sahn. Two big thumbs up for the New Siam II!
Best Location to Explore the City”
The Guest House is near Grand Palace. A few steps away from the Phra Arthit Ferry Terminal wherein you wanted to reach Wat Arun, Wat Pho via Chao Phraya river. Just a short tip when riding the ferry boat be sure to do it quickly. Boat is will stop and pick passengers within 2 mins and then proceed to the next destination. The back portion of the NS Guest House 2 along Ram Buttri alley, you can walk towards Khaosan area either you may want to get a massage, go to street party and drink or simply try out authentic thai street foods. I enjoyed staying in the New Siam II GH. but for improvement, there should be a daily room housekeeping to clean-up and replenish the stocks.
Simple & clean rooms, lots of on site offerings ( food, laundry, info person), and a pool!”
Easy going place with decent access to tourist sites. Taxis and tuk tuks ever present at curb, but also close to boat shuttles and local buses. Multiple food options ( at Siam II or Siam I across the street). Alley connects to Soi Ram Buttri road which has lots of food, bar, tourist market options. And of course they have a pool, which you need whether you know it or not. Only mark against them: emailed them reminding them we would be arriving around 4:30am, and asked about best transport from airport of special directions for taxi driver given the late hour. They never responded and when we arrived it was clear they thought we were not coming. It did not cause a problem for us, but it would have been nice to get some feedback from them about getting to their place in the middle of the night. That said, I would definitely stay there again, and plan on it when we go back to Bangkok later in our trip.
18 years and now”
We stated in New Siam II, 18 years ago when it was still under construction. The rooms have become a bit dated, but still offer a good bed, Airco, warm water and a good shower. The central located close to Khaosan road, even-though KS wasn't what it was anymore. However Soi Ram Butri behind the Wat is still a great place to find some good cheap food. New Siam II, Phra Athit Rd which gives you good access to the waterfront, busses (incl. Airport bus) and taxis.
My 5th time here”
New Siam Uim gets the job done. Reasonably comfortable lodging for a reasonable price in a good location. The restaurant is pretty good, the swimming pool is a welcome amenity for those hot, humid Bangkok days. Mixed bag for staff; some were quite pleasant, but there is always throne of two at New Siam Ii who are quite rude. Oh we'll, overall it's a de ent place to stay.
Good value for money”
Its the second time we stayed here. we think it is a good value for the money, espacially compare to other guest houses in this area in a bit cheaper price, after staying in two other next-door guest houses. The location is close enough to rambutri street for you to walk there but far enough so it would be quiet. Tge resturant in the first floor is really nice for breakfast. The room is pretty big and nice furnitured. The pool is nice as well for having a beer or a shake in a hot afternoon. The only thing should be improved is the toilet and bethroom, becouse it's small and not convinyet.
We love this guesthouse ”
Best value in Bangkok. Been going to Thailand since ‘92 and 1st stayed next door at the former Neer and Peachy GH, sad to see it gone but delighted New Siam 2 is still going strong. All good here so we return year after year, loyal customers! Tip; cross street for Siam Riverside discounted breakfast buffet by the pool.
Not good if you want to bring visitors ”
This guest house is a great price and has a nice pool! It's close enough to khosan rd to walk to nightlife easily, but far enough that all the party noise is inaudible so you can sleep well. The only downside is their prudish policy about outside visitors being forbidden in the rooms, come on New Siam is this a hotel or a nunnery?! The staff are quite rude about enforcing their rules, so if you want to get lucky in bangkok it might be better to book somewhere else to stay.
I enjoyed my stay at New Siam II Guest House and would like to stay there again. I especially recommend the restaurant's tom yum kum, the pool was also nice.
Pros definitely the pool and the location. The cons was I had stayed at their sister hotel across the road. The new siam riverside. That was a little more expensive but way better. So I would recommend that over this establishment. But there was nothing wrong with new siam 2
Great Bargain and Location”
The "II" is getting a little old now, but its kitchen and staff are almost exactly the same as they were ten years ago. Good eats, fine A/C and bedding, and fantastic location on the edge of Khaosan, close to two piers and the Royal Palace.
Great budget option ”
Great little spot just off from Khaosan Road. Mostly quiet, nice little pool and good smoothies from the restaurant. Clean, comfortable rooms with great A/C. Good access to water taxis. Very convenient to Grand Palace and Khaosan Road. Beware of aggressive and dishonest tuk-tuk drivers outside, don't believe a word they say!
Facilities decent, staff unhelpful ”
This is a very generic, large impersonal plac to stay, however the rooms are a good size for Bangkok, and have everything you need including a fridge, toilet paper, bottled water. For the price it us a good value Andre I love being near Khao San but a bit away from the "scene". the younger woman who checked us in was awful. North nlt was she extremely unfriendly , but when asked for s map she informed me they don't have free maps but could sell me. Bangkok map for 30b. This is the first place I have stayed in Thaulandcwhere the hotel did not provide a free map of at least the area around the hotel. You can get a free map from any tourist info center, and there is one just down the street from the hotel . I know it must get tiring to desk with tourists every day, but this is a hotel , and there is no reason to be rude and unhelpful to your guests. I would stay there again simply because it is a reasonable deal, clean, and in a good location , but realizing that the staff s just not there to help. Kind of disappointing for our last few days in the country .
great location big room best price good service and quiet”
friendly and helpful staffs, room is clean and big, no need to worry about accidentally consume any thing that you need to pay cause there is none :P complimentary wifi and connection was good despite being at the back building and top floor. is at the end of khaosan and is very quiet.
Great hotel. Room basic but functonal. A kettle in the room would have been nice. Food in restaurant was good. Pool super, they even loan towels to use at pool for free! Perfect location just on the fringe of the action so quiet at night but a two min walk has yoy in the heart of the Khaosan area.Despite there being a sign saying rooms not made up unless requested ours was. Safe inside room nice touch too.
GET GARDEN VIEW ROOM FOR QUIET, relatively clean and quiet no-frills hotel near Khao San Road”
***MAKE SURE TO GET THE BACK BUILDING GARDEN ROOM. THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BUILDING HAS A CONSTRUCTION SITE NEXT TO IT, WHILE THE FRONT SIDE OF THE BUILDING FACES THE BUSY MAIN ROAD*** This hotel is Exhibit A of “You Get What You Pay For.” It’s somewhat clean, somewhat quiet, and somewhat close to Khao San Road. It’s for people (like me) who want to be relatively close to the action but want to be able to sleep at night, without paying too much to be able to do so. Pros: It’s a three minute walk to the bars and restaurants at the cheaper Wat Chanasongkhram area and a ten minute walk to Khao San Road itself. The Back Building Garden Rooms are relatively quiet (this is probably not true for the rooms in other parts of the hotel), which is unusual for rooms at this price point in Bangkok. Cons: For thirty bucks a night in Bangkok, what do you expect? But, here it goes: Small, dated rooms. Bathrooms are barely 1x1 meter, including shower. Guests are given a Wifi password for a single de
