Great Midrange hotel away from the tourist crowds”
The New Suanmali is, to my mind, an almost perfect find: not located in any of the big Bangkok tourist "ghettos", yet along a main route and only a km or 2 from the Grand Palace etc, and not too much further from Erawan Shrine. For convenience there is a 7-11 almost across the street, and for eating there are a number of small places with a variety of foods on offer (from down-market Thai street food, to more traditional Thai food to more westernized menus.

I got treated like a king”
Hotel is situated in calm area near to Khaosan Road. Bus stop is 1 min walking distance (for busses to Siam - BTS), long tail boat service stop in channels is app. 5 min. The gold mountain temple is 5/10 min, the chinese town 10/15 min. Rooms are big and clean (according to eropean standards). Shower was working perfectly (hot watter, watter preasure). Our room included pretty everything what you can need. Electric kettle, daily refilled drinkable watter, instant coffee and tea. In morning you can order cheap breakfast in hotel or walk to near 7/11 shop (max 5 min). In neighbourhood you can find a famous restaurant cooking traditional Pad Thai noodles. Place is opened even around midnight, when everything else is already closed. Stuff was higly professional, polite and friendly. They treated us with honest. So far my most favourit hotel in Bangkok. And owners - such an incredible sweet cuple. Wish them all best...

my stay at New Suanmali is overall excellent, the staff is very helpful, especially the owner's song , his name is Kent i believe, help me a lot o navigation through Bangkok and give me good advise on where to eat and shopping. Thank you so much

Hotel that brought colour to a otherwise grey city”
We stayed here for 2 weeks during new year etc. Staff: Very nice friendly, always atleat 1 englishspeaking personel in the lobby, the other people always try to help you out and they too speak decent english and make themselves understood Cleanliness: Hotel was very clean, they asked us every day if we wanted our room cleaned and sometimes we, it was cleaned within 30 minutes(we ate breakfast came up again and it was done) Location: The hotel is located in the middle of Khaosan road and the shopping hub(paragon, mbk) so its 2km to either place, this hotel is located in a quiet area so we liked it alot. Room: The matress was hard but wierdly enough we sleept VERY well on it, most beds are on the harder side in SEA compared to EU. AC worked great, only complaint is that the TV had bad reception on HBO Star and discovery channel. Wifi: Very fast but dodgy, goes down a few times a day but seems to be 50mb/s so its not a real issue

good hotel, bad location”
new suanmali hotel is a good hotel for its price. the food is the same everyday. the service was okay, except they couldnt speak good english. the room was cold and the air conditioning was fine. the bathroom was big enough the location isnt good, it is about 80 baht from a tuk tuk (from khao san road) the bed is fluffy and clean, we had no problems with the hotel itself really. it was just the location and the transportation fee. over all, just dont book a hotel with breakfast.

The location isn't exactly next to anything , but it's not very far from anything. You can walk a mile to get to the Grand Palace or to Hualamphong train station or to Khaosan. I like this neighborhood a lot, it's the oldest in Bangkok and a bit run down, but has lots of character and interesting streets of similar shops. I've stayed in about 5 other places in Bangkok and never gone back to any of them, but I think I will stay here again if I'm coming or going by train. The room was clean and as depicted online, furnishings were in good shape. Inexpensive.

Best hotel I stayed in Bangkok!”
I've been Bangkok many times darting from place to place using Bangkok as a base camp. This was the best hotel I stayed in! The staff were incredibly nice, super helpful. The room is perfect for a little stop for the weekend. Room service and room cleaned daily fresh towels toiletries and more. Minus the location being a little far from any decent food. 10/10! I'll sure be returning.

Suanmali in Bangkok”
Stay was quiet and peaceful, an oasis amid the noise of Bangkok. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large. The beds were very, very firm but still comfortable. Overall it was a wonderful hotel and we will return to it if we ever come back to Bangkok.

Good Location”
We stayed 4 nights in this hotel. We had placed ourselves centrally to Khoasan Road, the Grand Palace, and MBK Mall. This hotel didn't disappoint. It is walking distance to all of these places. There is also a bus...#15...that goes along the road in front of the hotel and will get you to all of these places... Cost of the bus only 6.5 bahts. per person. There was an older gentlemen (wish we had gotten his name) who worked at the hotel who spoke English well and was very helpful and friendly. The beds were a bit hard but most are in Thailand. The rooms were small but practical for the money paid. We would definitely return here again.

A nice place to stay”
Firstly I have to say the staff of this hotel is really friendly and helpful. Before booking I wrote them an email to ask abt the room for 3 and they replied my enquiry right away. Next, the facilities are good, our room is spacious, clean and it's a quiet area so it's a comfortable place to stay after going out all day. However the hotel is quite far from some attractions and it seems hard for taxi and tuktuk drivers to find this hotel :-( . Overall, I would recommend this one and hope you guys will have a nice stay in this hotel like I did.

Returned to this hotel for last part of our trip....”
This hotel is small but quite ok for the price and the location is central to what we wanted to do. Buses run nearby that take you to the major attractions for 6.5 bahts each way. The attractions we wanted to see were MDK Mall, Khoasan Road, the Grand Palace. All stops along Bus 15's route and a great way to explore the city. The workers are very friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would come back to this hotel again. Thank you.

I've realy liked this hotel. Its very very clean, the staff is so nice (they speak a lil bit english but the try to do their best). And the location is good. Its near from chinatown, mbk market and Siam. The 47 bus stop i just in front. I defintly recommend this hotel. The rooms have mini bar and electric kettle. Thank you

Middle way between BTS transport and Khaosan Road, I recommend this option for people that look for something further than a hostel but on the budget at the same time. Nice big room, excellent service and walking distance to most of the old town attractions.

clean and comfy”
We appreciated our stay here as we usually stay in cheaper hotels. The mattress was hard but we still slept well. The room was very clean. The staff we spoke to could speak good English, we had no problem, they were very kind. The only minus point is the thinness of the walls or maybe just a problem with the electric plugs in the wall as we had the feeling to hear the neighbors speaking through the plugs. Otherwise, very good stay

Just in the middle between khao san area, China Town and Siam... Close to all but far from all... Hotel staff are very friendly and at least in the new years Eve they offered complementary shuttels to all kind of places like khao San and asiatique market. Fair enough :)
