A cozy and pleasant Inn”
Kudos to the team at New Tour Inn, they have definitely provided a warm cozy place to be in in a cold highland climate. The manager and staff are very friendly and helpful, making our night stay here the more memorable. Nuwara Eliya is definitely a cold place when we arrived, and the room is clean and cozy. The dining place is cozy too. The manager and the staff are very attentive and helpful. Definitely will recommend this place! A short walk to the town. Not suitable for people who has difficulty with stairs.

Great little hotel in very convenient location”
Hotel seemed to have mixed reviews but I couldn't fault it. Located across the road from Victoria Park and with nice little balcony areas to enjoy afternoon sun. Only few minutes walk to bus station and on Park Road midway between the two small restaurant areas. Weather wasn't cold while I was in Nuwara Eliya but there certainly adequate blankets available. One of the few hotels in Sri Lanka that I gave stayed at that in price range provided cable TV. Would happily stay again.

Good hotel close to town centre”
We had a pleasent stay at this hotel. Its on Park Rd, just some 5 min walk to the bus station and the city centre. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our train from Nuwara Eliya-Ella got cancelled since a train had de-railed, so they had check on that, called the station to confirm and arranged taxi for us. The breakfast is ok, toasts, egg any style, coffee or tea and small plate of fruits. Similar things as you pay 450-500 Rs for in town. They also have a restaurant for lunch and dinner, but we did not see so many guests there. But the menu on offer is similar as in town, so its convinient. Toilette paper and a bottle of water was supplied for free. Towels and sheets were clean. Since its very humid in Nuwara Eliya, there is a smell of mold in the rooms, but I think this problem is every where here in the town. Free wifi internet with password.

Good hotel at a good location.”
The hotel is an average one but a complete value for money. The staff is very friendly and dedicated to guest comfort. There is a very beautiful garden just in from of the hotel. The place is usually cold and has a very beautiful morning. If you are visiting Nuwara Eliya..then you can definitely try this hotel at a budget price.

Great value for the location and the size.”
Great value for money. Grab a bargain. By now if you have travelled anywhere else in Sri Lanka one would know that accom is not cheap, one either stays at somewhere expensive or takes a chance with a budget place- Tour Inn is a gem of a one star guesthouse. If you are stuck for accom in nuwara eliya don't go past it.

Cool place”
i reserved this hotel mainly because of its proximity to the nuwaraeliya city center with just five minutes walk from the central bus stand. i was bit surprised when i arrived at the hotel around 11.00 p.m. there was hardly anybody to receive me at the reception though the hotel says that they have 24 hrs room service. i ranged the bell for about ten minutes but there was no response. then i tried to contact the reception through the telephone. unfortunately there was no response from the other end. i had no choice but to wait outside sitting on a chair in the garden. it was so cold that i was shivering. i was there for nearly two and half hours and around 01.30 a.m. a gentlemen (probably a room boy) appeared and then i called him and asked for his help with no other choice. he apologized to me for their failure to turn up in time and took me to the room. it was fairly good for the price i paid and i immediately had a hot water shower and got myself warmed up. the next day i had a fairly good time with my friend who joined with me and we ordered the dinner from the hotel and it was very good. on the following day i got the transport arranged from the hotel to visit horton plains and the hotel staff was very cooperative enough that they provided me with a take away breakfast. i enjoyed my stay for three days in the hotel and i could recommend this hotel for low budget travelers who look for only the basic amenities. however, my request for regular cleaning of the wash room was not adhered by the hotel staff.

Very Good Location”
Excellent location with easy access to city center and bus station and just opposite to Victoria Park. Very helpful staff, nice hot shower, excellent wireless access plus the availability of a computer for use were all really plus points. Nice living room for group fellowship in the evening and morning too. However, the rooms were slightly rundown and hence, slightly more difficult to maintain cleaniness but still acceptable. Value-for-money B&B compared to another hotel we were stayed one day later which charged more than double the price but did not provided reliable wireless access and hot water shower.

Nice hotel in lovely location, with view of park. ”
Other comments had been poor so we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Hotel is in a great location, right on the edge of the park, with good views and only a few minutes walk to centre. Rooms are basic but ours was clean and comfortable. Every 4 rooms share a sitting room and two balconies, which is a nice place to relax and watch the park. Furniture is a little old and tired but comfortable. Good breakfast included. Staff were very helpful and friendly, arranged the tour and picnic breakfast for us to Horton plains national park and helped us out when our padlock broke by calling out their maintenance guy at no extra charge... Without him I probably would have had to cut into my bag! Overall a very nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay!

Great location and nice view”
This place has a very good location. It's 3 min walk from the town center. ATMs are 200m away from the Tour Inn. We have stayed there for 2 nights. We have been welcomed with tea and some local sweets. The room was very spacious with very nice view of Victoria's Park. This palce would be perfect if they would have some heating. It gets very cold in the evenings so having a shower in the cold bathroom is not the great experience. Our driver's room was dirty and he decided to find something else for himself for second night.

Excellent location close to town ”
Nice to be just 5 mins walk from the town center...yet buffered by a park with lots of tall eucalyptus trees outside the window. Large room and bathroom, also sitting and dining room with TV. Excellent breakfast with 6 fruits! Wifi in the room. I moved here for a hotel with 2x the price but half the features. The shower was a bit tricky to manager, but owner helped.

Great location, rooms ok, helpful staff”
Our room was not yet ready when we arrived but it was ok as it gave us a chance to stretch our legs and explore the town after a grueling trip to Eliya in the car. The room was tired and smelt musty. The beds were big and comfortable. The bathroom was new - we didn't realize we needed to keep the window open so the bathroom stank!! The room for very cold at night and we asked for another blanket. The manager is very helpful and will go out his way.

Nicest staff ”
They really have service down at this hotel. There was a slight issue with the wifi and they offered us a different room which turned out to be very charming and reminiscent of a ski lodge. I can't say enough about the people who work here as they are very kind and helpful. Also it's a good location near the park which is quiet and a short walk into the city center.

A nice small B&B just adjacent to Victoria Park”
We stayed at this hotel for 1 night during a recent holiday trip to Sri Lanka. Overall, this is a simple B&B with nothing special to offer, except that the location is adjacent to Victoria Park, so you still get a nice view of the park from your room window. Also, since it is still in the city center, some attractions are still within walking distance. Although room standards are not high, but I would say overall it is still quite clean and well maintained. Bathroom is newly renovated, but unfortunately the shower didn't work very well during our stay because the hot water flow was not stable. This is an important point that the hotel manager must pay attention to, because in the evening the weather can drop to a freezing 10 degree Celcius, so getting yourself a cold-water shower is not an option at all. Breakfast is just simple continental breakfast with bread, eggs, sausage and fruit, just enough to get yourself an energy kick in the morning. The hotel can also arrange their own transportation to Nanu Oya station if required, of course at a certain price, which is a little bit pricey but still acceptable. Overall, with such a price, we have nothing serious to complain about this hotel.

Disappointing experience”
I arrived in Nuwara Eliya before mid night under pouring rain, and the first impression of the room is very basic and worn out. Since there were only one couple staying in the hotel, the staff offered me the "biggest room" in the hotel (a room with two twin beds), but it was cold and a bit rundown inside. I ended up sleeping with clothes on and not even taking the shower. The real disappointing experience came when the staff arranged the tour packages. The driver they arranged to take me to tea plantation tour didn't speak any English, and I was just dropped off there unattended. The package they offered me to Hatton's Plains and Adam's Peak was way overpriced, and worse yet, the staff "suggested" that I check out in the afternoon, and go directly to Adam's Peak to climb around 22:00PM, sleeping on the way, and hiring the driver for 1.5 days! I was left with the impression that maybe the staff wanted to make some extra money without thinking of how the guest may feel. To put a long story short, in the end I was offered some money back, and another staff was kindly enough to go out of his way to arrange a different hotel for me, which is a much nicer touch. Anyway, this is one of the few unpleasant experience I had during the trip, and I won't recommend it to friends.

Great location and hospitality”
Mr Surang, owner, is a very hospitable person. He took care of us quite well and even let us use the internet on his computer. The location of the hotel is at the center of the city, 5 min from the bus stand. The dinner was awesome and the quantity they served for the 2 of us was probably equivalent to 3 people. All in all, great stay and recommended.

Good location cold place”
The hotel is near the city center and bus station, its about 5 mins walk. Place is opposite the Victoria park. We stayed at the hotel for two nights, first night was raining heavily and it was very cold in the room so we asked for electric heater which they charged at very high price. Every bed had warm blankets but not enough with this cold and wet weather. We couldn't close our door properly. When we complained they tried to fix it. The whole floor in the front of the door was wet. Recommendation eat somewhere else as food is not very good and takes long time. The whole place needs renovation. The staff were friendly.

Electrical issues”
I would recommend for a short stay, but perhaps not in the 'off season'. The staff were great and very helpful and a substantial breakfast provided. Location is good, but the road is a little dark at night, torches required. The hotel appears to be undergoing renovation, bathrooms complete but new carpeting required. The windows do not fit properly, so the rooms are a little cool in the 'off season', but plenty of blankets provided. Transportation (at a fair rate) and a great packed breakfast provided for a tour of Horton Plains. At the start of our stay the owner collected us from the railway station to advise the hotel had electrical issues and offered us another guest house. Which we moved to, when the hotel electricity failed completely after two days. The replacement guest house was decoratively slightly 'care worn', but staff, location, breakfast were all good. The owner has a good Tuk Tuk connection in Kandy, with fair rates, which we took advantage of.
