Happily, What I expected!”

Location, Restaurants, Friendly Stass

Had a great stay at the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel. Friendly staff, great location. Only complaint is that the website advertised free WiFi (internet). Some what misleading...free internet is available however, ONLY in the lobby...not in the room. Should be specified in room/hotel amenities.

Reasonable Rates, Beautiful Hotel”

The location is great; walking distance to Times Square and 5th Ave.; nice, huge lobby with friendly ambiance; room has sofa bed and refrigerator

As usual, we had a wonderful stay in this hotel! It was already our second time, and perhaps we will always return if we have the chance. The room, though not as huge as the ones we stayed in in Las Vegas and Washington, was big and comfortable enough. The interior decoration was noticeably newer and more modern than our last stay. Maybe they undertook some renovation. The only setbacks were the lack of smoking rooms, microwave oven, and coffee-maker. We always had to go down and buy coffee every morning. Well, we always choose this hotel because it is walking distance to Time Square, where we want to watch the ball drop on New Year's Eve. It is also walking distance to everything else that is a must-see in New York, like Central Park, 5th Ave., Broadway, Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Bldg., the Museum of Modern Art, etc.

The best thing about the New York Hilton Midtowne is the location. It’s convenient to theaters, Centeal Park, and MoMA. Not sure of the value for money- i think a couple extras would really help, like making luggage storage complementary.

Great location and nice rooms”

location, cleanliness, room size

We enjoyed our stay here. It's only a couple blocks south of Central Park and not too far from Times Square. It was very easy to find and was close to the Metro lines. The room size was plenty big enough for the two of us. Also, the room was clean when we arrived. The staff was very helpful when we had any questions about places to eat or directions to landmarks. One bad point about the room was that there was not a fridge in it. That meant that I had to keep walking to get ice if we wanted to keep anything cold. There's a restaurant on the ground floor, but we didn't get a chance to eat there. If I was going back to New York, I would stay in this hotel again.

Great Location”

Very busy hotel. So much going on at any given time. Hotel was in a wonderful location with easy access in to the Lobby and out to the city. Rooms were not maintained to the degree I feel a Hilton Hotel should be maintained. Our room was a bit worn and torn. There was a difference between the stock photos and the actual room. Our A/C went out during our trip but the repairs happened in a timely manner. Edgar, our repair man, was delightful, kind and worked efficiently. I would stay at the Hilton Midtown again and recommend to my friends and family.

This is a brilliantly located hotel, close enough to everything for those happy to walk a little. The rooms are a good size but who needs space when you are in NYC? We have stayed here before and would readily return. Many excellent eating places very close too. As someone who is more familiar with travel in Europe, the Hilton is certainly expensive. But no more than anywhere comparable in Mahattan. Prices have really escalated in the past decade. Maybe this is yet another cost having a (rich) (disagreeable) New Yorker as President. The very agreeable agent at JFK as we left said forget Manhattan and hang out in Brooklyn. Food for thought.

Hilton Hotel New York City”

location, room size

I like this hotel for its international name and great location in New York, but the staff performance, especially the housekeeping staff is really below the regular standard of a 5-star Hilton Hotel. And the room lacked the normal amenities found in other Hilton hotels, such as cotton buds, shower gel and toothbrush in the bathroom. Also, for 2 days in a row, I had to keep requesting a bath mat and was told that I had to keep asking for it everyday because they are not supposed to put one there everyday!! Unbelievable! It is a pity the standard is not that of a 5-star Hilton hotel although the price is.

Location, Room comfort, 24 hr desk service

The hotel is in excellent location and very good value for money. It is clean and the 24 hr reception service definitely helped as I arrived with a very late flight. However, I do find it very disappointing when wifi is not automatically available in the room - especially in hotels of the Hilton brand. The daily charge for wifi was $50 which is an unreasonably high amount for something that most travellers are learning to take for granted.

Location, location, location

We usually stay where wifi is included. You get in your room, log on, put in your room # and you're in. At Hilton they wanted more money it just became a hassle. I will NEVER stay at another HIlton. Major pain to deal with this. I am way to busy and in to much of a hurry. Should be part of staying in your room. Don't let your accountants run your business. They don't have degrees in the "Hospitality" business I assume. It really shows.

Clean and spacious but pricey”

Comfortable, clean rooms with the quality you'd expect from a Hilton. Great location with a lot of restaurants nearby. Pricey "resort fee" type of charge which pins you to buying from their own bar/cafe/restaurant, no free luggage storage (even for Hilton Honours members), very limited seating in the lobby, and overall cold with high a/c blowing all the time.

A convenient, comfortable big city hoteattractions”

Best things about the hotel was location, price, and brand name quality.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Hilton NY Hotel. The hotel was very conveniently located with easy access to transportation. The hotel room was clean, comfortable and functional. The double beds were smaller than what I was expecting. It would have been good if I could have gotten Hilton points for staying at the Hilton, but I was told by registration staff that I couldn't since I made the reservation through Priceline. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.
