It’s a brilliant place to go, right in the town centre across from the train station so didn’t have to walk far! Staff was ace, clean place, just overall a great place!

Check in was easy with on site parking. My 6 year old fell ill in the early hours of the morning, the Gentlemen on the night shift was brilliant, helping me find a local calpol supplier and helping my boy feel better (with sweets) marvellous customer service above and beyond .

Our room ”
Great location and really lovely hotel. The room was on the small side and our window was an internal one. We asked for a double on booking and we were given a twin which turned out ok as the room too warm for us.

The location is just opposite the train station, very friendly staff and prompt in responding, house keeping did a good job when we needed extra towels. Only point for improvement is the wi-fi, seems not working or overloaded.

The room I was given didn’t seem to match what I booked. When I arrived at the hotel it came up on the system I booked a twin room when I hadn’t at all. The room was really small and unbearably hot.

All staff friendly and considerate couldn’t be more helpful seeing that I had had a part knee 10 days earlier and my wife had a broken wrist in plaster room small but it was booked at last minute and last room available but nice and clean and tidy good Wi-fi

We were given a room that had been used at first. Then shown to a better room. Had asked for quiet room but this is near impossible in the location. Had drunk woman shouting in corridor in middle of night. But our room at back of hotel was quieter than those above street.

I booked a room here as several friends I were to meet also had booked. I later found out that I had paid nearly twice what they had & their rooms were far superior. The floor tiles in bathroom were cracked & sealant around fittings looked tired & patched. Wardrobe (free-standing) would not close properly & veneer was peeling. Windows were not sufficiently insulated to keep out the noise of early hours street revellers 4 floors below! Car park cost an additional £10 for the 24 hours! Breakfast was in cramped "circular" seating; totally inappropriate. Food was good but nothing special & we waited for bacon, eggs, mushrooms to be put on buffet as these items had run out. Coffee ran out, as did cups at the drinks buffet. I have had better facilities, service, food in B&Bs elsewhere. My recommendation: do not stay here unless you have no other choice or if mediocrity at high cost is OK for you. The management needs to be retrained or removed and immediate investment needs to made into guest-room refurbishment.

A bit of a Fawlty Towers hotel! Despite an email confirmation, they couldn't find my reservation, cancelled our keys after one day (we were there for two nights), a double bed but with twin bed head boards, broken cupboard drawers, old heavy sash window in the bedroom in need of servicing. Basically, the hotel is old and the bedrooms need an urgent facelift.

Extremely small room, kept banging head off tv attached to wall. Desperate for renovation. Very hot room and windows were hard to open. Cleaners vacuuming in room near so we got woken early. Location excellent
