Best of the best hostel ever”
I must say Next Taipei is BEST OF THE BEST HOSTEL EVER. Score 9 is underrated for them because I think with great service and super unbeatable price (US$16/pax), they deserve 10+ point. They are located right at the center of Ximending, which is very crowded and quite appropriate for young person like me. We travel as a group of 4 people and all of us really enjoyed the time as the hotel as well as this Ximen area. It is only 5mins walk from Ximen MRT. And because it is located on the Ximending pedestrian area, you can go back to the hotel at midnight or after than without any scaring because there are always many people down there. There are a lot of food down the hostel and we do enjoy the food there. It tastes delicious, so yummy. At first sight, we are quite shocked arriving the building cause it is quite old and dirty. But right at the time we come to Floor 9 where the hostel locates, we are IMPRESSED - much IMPRESSED. They are SUPER CLEAN, SUPER MODERN. Each of us is provided the bed separately and you can see the pictures on agoda. So love the bed cause it gives us the privacy enough. All of us especially love the blanket. It is thick and fluffy enough to keep us warm during the whole night. They do have a big living room with casual chairs that you can sleep on, 1 big TV, area for cooking, water and coffee. They have 4 big bathrooms with hot strong water and every time I take a shower, I just want to stay there 15mins because I do enjoy the bathroom. Besides, all of the receptionist are so friendly and helpful to give us more-than-enough advices where and what to do/see. They also help book the taxi for us to go from the hostel to Taoyuan airport at 3:30am in the morning with the cost only of 1.100NT (service fee included). This cost is a bargain cause some of my friends staying near our hostel but they need to pay 1.300NT. I can not thank them enough for the GREAT EXPERIENCE during the time we stay at Taipei.

Excellent choice to stay in Taipei”
Taipei Next Hostel in Ximending is situated in the heart of the Taipei city. It is about 1 Km from Taipei main station (Bus, MRT, Train, HSR) and just 200 meters from Ximen station, Exit 6 of Taipei metro. The hostel is situated in a commercial building on 9th floor and is situated in Ximending shopping district. What an excellent location. Facilities: They provide unlimited tea, coffee, bread, jam and butter for for extra costs. These things are placed in the common room on the upper floor. The common room also has microwave, refrigerator, toaster, electric gas and utensils for cooking. The common room plenty of tables, chairs, sofas, bean bags and TV. There is a balcony and a table and some chairs are placed in the balcony. They also have washing machines. Staff: The staff is very polite. BEST VALUE FOR MONEY”
Right smack in the center of Ximending shopping and eating area, the best location so far since I started booking with Agoda more than five years ago. In front of the hostel are food stalls and souvenir shops , besides it are some mango shaved ice stores, convenience stores and a lot lot more. Dormitories communal bathrooms are clean. The best feature is the lounge area where you can eat, cook, surf in the desktops and basically chill after a hard day of walking and touring Taipei. 24/7 flowing brewed coffee and fresh green tea and bread with two types of spread are provided. Ximen MRT station Gate 6 is just a walk away leading you to any point in Taipei. You get MORE than what you paid for. The only downside I see is that they only provide (when asked) a small towel just like a hand towel. Shampoo and bath gel provided in a dispenser. Yes....I will come back and also recommend this hostel. So what are youtravellers waiting for.....go book in Next Taipei hostel in Ximending area......

love that the staff are friendly. the place is spacious and kept clean always too. located in heart Ximending, where there's lots of food and endless shopping. opposite the hostel building is Xie Xie You Yu Gen which is a well-known store for cuttlefish soup (my favourite). there's a lounging area at lvl 2 of the hostel and there's free bread and drinks (coffee, tea, juices) 24/7. Female bathroom is located outside of rooms and has 4 hair dryers, 3 cubicles, another 3 shower stalls and 6 basins to cater to everyone. I have been to many other hostels where the bathroom is located inside the room which if you have not checked in, you cannot get to shower or there's only 1 toilet+shower and you'll have to queue for your turn. one bad point is breakfast is in a hotel located about 5 mins walk from hostel. i didn't manage to make it on time for breakfast hence, i gave it a miss. my friend who stayed before at NEXT hostel in taipei main station area told me that that outlet has breakfast in the hotel next to the hostel which is more convenient.

Simple yet delightful”
Like the title suggests, our stay at Next was definitely one of our highlights in Taiwan. This might be a cliche but my girlfriend and I did wish we had stayed longer than 2 days with them. Points to note for future visitor/s: 1) The location is almost perfect. Nestled in the heart of XMD, it makes getting back at night less tiring when you are walking parallel to tons of shops and pushcarts; 2) The staff (interacted with 3 of them, 2 ladies from morning shift and 1 from the night shift) are truly the ambassadors of this country. Not only were they helpful and warm as they say of Taiwanese folks, they went the extra mile to make our stay convenient and real fun. 3) Toilets and bed were impeccably clean and neat. Also, the guy from the night shifted pointed out a gym (District Fitness Center, as they call it) that is nearby for me when I inquired about it. He even printed the map for me to get there. On our last day, we requested to drop our baggage at their hostel (because our hotel didn't allow it, ass) and then kindly accepted it without any hesitation. Wow, how good are these people with their hospitality? They are the best! TBH, this is the best review I have written for an overseas accommodation and I didn't myself to write one for a backpacker's inn. There you have it. Tips: Have breakfast at the stall oppo Next Taipei Hostel (delicious carrot cake), you can borrow umbrella from Next for your day-trips, ask the staff for itineraries if you haven't already plan one.

My stay at Next Taipei Hostel was no fuss and worry-free. The hostel is located conveniently within the busy streets of Ximending where you won't run out of things to do. I was able to sleep cozily with a comfortable comforter and a quiet room. The attendants were also very helpful, welcoming and informative. I love the free coffee and bread too! There is no doubt I'll stay here if I ever go on another budget-friendly trip to Taipei again!

This was my first and last accomodation during my 13 days tour of Taiwan, and I spent 4days 3 nights in total at the Next Taipei Hostel- Ximending. The rooms can become a bit crowded but it's to be expected in the 9 beds rooms of the hostel. The service is great, very friendly staff and they usually go out of their way to help you with anything they can. Love the unlimited coffee, tea and bread. Thank you! ☺️

Great Hostel”
I like Next Taipei Hostel-Ximending because of its central location, cleanliness, cool and approachable staff who speak English very well, and laid-back vibe. Bread and drinks (juice, coffee, tea, water) are available for free 24/7 and they don't let you rent towels or adaptors (unlike other hostels I have stayed in). I would definitely recommend this place to all my travelling friends.

Next Taipei Hostel has a great location in one of the busiest areas of Taipei. It's a 5 minute walk from the metro station and the area comes to life at night with various student performances and street food vendors. Despite being in such a busy area, inside the hostel it's very quiet due to its location on the 9th floor. Reception is open 24 hours which is great for people arriving on red eye flights like me. The bunks are made of solid metal so there won't be any squeaking sounds if the person you're bunked with likes to roll around the bed. The mattress is a futon but that doesn't bother me at all. Each bunk also has blinds in case you like sleeping in and keeping the light out. No free breakfast but tea is available in the common area. The hostel is well kept. I would definitely return.

Friendly staff and good location”
5mins to Ximen MRT, plenty of eateries and convenient stores around. Service staff exceeded my expectation, i have incident of noisy room mates and they take action immediately. Unlike other hostel will tell me this is a hostel not a hotel. Everything is good except noisy guest which is not hostel fault. I realised this mainly happen in taipei, probably the hostel should educate the guest when they check in. My room mates turn on their youtube watching with her friends on her bed chit chating like no one business at 12+am. The next day, another 2 room mates slamming the doors and locker door every 5mins at 1-2am, can't be bother to feedback to service staff anymore. The 3rd day, another few group is talking and sit on the small common walkway at 2am..... It is endless, I cannot be complainning everyday... Although I do not sleep early but would want to have some peace at this hour. I managed to get some peace on the 4th night after 1am. Hope this could be improved

The best thing about Next Taipei Hostel is their buffet breakfast. Though the location of the restaurant is quite tricky (located about 3 blocks away), still the foods are beyond satisfaction. The 24- hour pantry is something to look forward too. There are drinks and breads to choose from; free of charge and absolutely tasty. The location is very satisfactory. You can spend your whole night watching the buzz of the Ximending area. I can recommend this hotel!

I keep coming back to Next Taipei Hostel because the place is convenient in terms of location (walking distance to Ximending station), the bathrooms are clean, there's a cozy common area and the sleeping area is also well-maintained. I rated the staff 4 stars only because some of them cannot speak English well but over-all, the experience is very good.

So many good things to say about this hostel. Before the trip: •I had online queries and they always responded immediately. During the stay: •They have 24/7 front desk so it's not a hassle even if I arrived at 3am. Just one buzz at the doorbell and someone opened the gate right away. I didn't have to wait for more than a minute. •Everything is always organize and clean. •I love that free breads, jams, coffee and juice are available 24/7. •The dorm space is bigger than what I expected. There's a duvet for more comfort. There's blinds for privacy and also for the light in the room not to bother you. I like that there's a lamp and mirror inside your own space. •They have this really cheap wifi rental for 150ntd a day. Coverage is really good. •Hair-dryer, shampoo and shower gel available in the bathroom. •Super friendly and helpful staff that speaks english well. •Very well located in the heart of Ximending and just more/less 5 minutes away from MRT. Bonus: •Ask for their map. Chances are you'll get lost shopping/looking around Ximending area. Then the other side is an MRT map which is very helpful as well. It saves me so much time. The only downside for this is that they don't have bidet in the toilet but not much of a deal breaker. Hopefully they can work on it though. Definitely staying here again if I go back in Taiwan. Will recommend it to my friends.

pros: excellent location rooms and bathrooms were clean wifi was fast free toast 24 hours the rooftop was a great place to hang out in laundry area (washing machine,dryer,hanger) free water,coffee,tea cons: the mattress was too thin i had to use my comforter to put on the mattress i waited for 30mins for the staff to open the door (that staff is rude) overall it was a great stay!!! i love the staff (except for one lol) kudos to my fave staff in the hostel idk her name but she has short hair(military cut) and glasses thank you next taipei hostel i will be back

Excellent location in the heart of Ximending”
Stayed for 3 nights as a solo traveller and I had a really good time here. The location is fantastic because it's right in the heart of Ximending - you can easily do your nails/hair, shop and have supper till late night. The friendly staff were always smiling and lent me an umbrella whenever I went out (the weather in Taipei can be quite unpredictable; raining one minute and sunny the next). I also liked that the eating/chilling area was upstairs, away from the dormitories so that noise would be minimized as much as possible. The only thing which I think can be improved is the type of mattress provided - I'm not sure if it's the norm in Taiwan to sleep on such thin mattresses. My aching joints could practically feel the floor each time I turned in bed. It helped that they provided thick quilts so I layered the mattress with the quilt for a more comfy sleep. But would still return the next time I'm in Taipei! The $ is really worth it for the location.

It is a greatest hostel ever! Don't miss it if you travel to Taipei. Honestly, My first impression is not good as it is the 9F of Apartment. But it had changed my mind once the elevator was open. Evething is tidy and professional. Besides, there are drinks (coffee, tea , orange) and sandwiches served all day for free. Plus, washing machine is available as well More important for me to recommend this hostel is service: I would like to express my thank to the Next Taipei team that you all are so nice and active; advise me some useful info and help me to catch a taxi at 3AM. when you reach the MRT Ximen exist 6, you will see the opposite is Watson mini market, then you should go to find another Watson mini market by walking through the ximen shopping gate/or ximen shopping area (walk to your right hand side when you are on ximen exist 6) walking around 100-150 meters then you will find Next Taipei ximen Hostel next to the Watson and is on the 9th floor. This hotel is at good location, good food, well hospitality of receptionist (24 hours) and good services. I'll be stay here again if I go to Taipei. ^^

It may be a hostel, but the beds in every room has high privacy. Toilets are always clean, although sometimes flooded. Common area is very spacious and allow space for interactions with other guests. I think the overall cons is that the lightings are really really too dim. I cant see my face clearly in the toilet mirrors, and also with the lights at the bed area. Perhaps it would also be good if the lockers are out of the room. I was pretty afraid to pack or search for my things after 10pm, as most lights were out! The pros, too many I would say: - very friendly and helpful staff. I would really wanna give thanks to Yoyo who was there for the midnight shift. She has provided so much information, and really goes all way out when interacting with other guests. - Clean, everywhere! I like the idea that all guests have to change into the common slippers when entering the hostel. Cannot imagine how it will smell like when everyone is back to the room after a long day of walk. In fact, there were guests with slightly "odoured" feet, I had to spray perfume at my bed area to cover up the smell. - value for money! For the price of a hostel, you get your own space (and i mean the area for sleep). Considered very spacious if I may compare with other hostels. Given the opportunity, I will definitely come back to Next again!

PROS: - Location right inside Ximending night market; just few steps to Watson store, 7/11, Uniqlo, HM; 950 meters (15 minutes) walking from Taipei Main Station; 350 meters (4 minutes) walking from Ximen Station; 500 meters (7 minutes) walking from Gakuden Bakery where Klook picks up for tours - Huge living room with 2 computers and nice view, free flows of coffee, tea, toasts any time; huge bean pillows (those coming early but can’t check in can stay there while waiting) - Free use of washing machine (pay small amount for detergent) - Lots of bathrooms and toilets (separate for men and women in different floors) - Clean - Strong and stable hot water (very necessary in winter) - Good English speaking staff, helpful - Provide: shampoo, bath gel, slippers, hair dryers (free use of other toiletries left by other people at common area), umbrella, small mirror on your room - Strong wifi CONS: - Thin mattress - They use the power plug with 2 thin legs, so need to bring charging adapter if your country often uses the 3 round legs type (can charge at the computers in the living room using USB plug) - Toilets do not have spraying faucet (papers only) while you are not allowed to throw the used dirty papers inside the toilet bowl, which caused the concerns about hygiene and bad smell sometimes Great value for money, highly recommended

It’s worth it ”
Being here for 3 nights was a great place to stay. The staff are were very accommodating and the place was clean. I am expecting that the room will be noisy based on what I have read on reviews but it’s opposite. The place is so relaxing. Thank you Next Taipei Hostel. Will surely come back here.
