Nice Hotel on Quiet Street”
We stayed at the Ngoc Phan Guesthouse based on its location and guest reviews. We were very happy we stayed here. The owner and his wife were very helpful and kind. He spoke very good English and offered us a number of suggestions on places to go and see. Because of its central location, we were able to walk to nearly all of the sites we wanted to see during our very short stay in Ho Chi Minh City. A great bargain for the money. The breakfast was very nice and the fresh fruit was amazing.

Best for Budget Conscious Travellers. ”
The guest house is overall a nice place for budget conscious traveler like me. I can say, it is one of the best place i have stayed for 1-Star hotel. Remarkably, the guest house is quiet even though it is few steps away from the busy street, it is situated at the end of an alley so noise has never been an issue during our stay. The room we occupied was a decent size, clean, with AC plus wall fan twin sharing room. They have a hot & cold shower, another reason why i like their place. Wifi is also available 24/7. The bread they serve (french bread) during breakfast is an experience to remember as i am used of loaf bread or hot pan de sal every breakfast in our country. The owners/couple are very friendly and can speak english fluently most especially the husband, Mr. Chow Phan so communication will not be a problem. Overall, Ngoc Phan is good place to stay if you are looking for a simple, affordable and clean 1-Star Guest House.

CLEAN HOTEL WITH GREAT LOCATION”
Ngoc Phan Guest house is centrally located, near to every thing. It is in an alley of No. 35 Bui Vien Street. It's quite hard to find the hotel because there is no sign board on the road side of the alley and google map shows me the wrong direction. We loved to stay in this guest house , the room and bathroom is very clean . The owner Mr Chau and the staff Ah Qi is very friendly and helpful, we feel like staying at home. The breakfast is simple with bread, egg, jam, butter , coffee or fruit juice, tea and an apple. Thanks Mr Chau and Ah Qi. We will come back again .

A hidden gem in District 1”
This is the second visit to Ho Chi Minh city and we stayed here last time as it is fantastic value for money. When you are in your room it is so quiet you would not think you were in the heart of District 1. The family are very obliging and friendly, rooms clean and because it is located at the end of a lane it is also very quiet. It is a great location so when you step out onto the street you are at the heart for both shopping and pop up bars at night. This will always be our choice when visiting Ho Chi Minh.

Friendly staff and owner, very clean room”
For first timers flying in just after midnight in a city that hardly spoke any english, it was quite a relief to know that the staff in this small guesthouse, stayed up and waited for us and even answered our call to talk to the cab driver who drove us from the airport. He didn't know where the hotel is located despite the fact that we already showed him the address and a map of the guest house, which by the way is located in a very popular and central area. (Tip: This guest house, like many others is located in a small alley. So be prepared with your maps and the address written down). The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. He even suggested dining places we should try and they sure didn't disappoint. Our family room although basic, was very clean and spacious. And internet worked just fine. (Downside to booking a family room, specially those with kids and older adults is that it is located at the 4th and topmost floors. So without an elevator, it can be quite a task going up. But generally, this is a lovely place with lovely people who manage it. Despite being in the backpackers district with bars and restos open til early morning, you still get a good night sleep, very quiet at night. We would sure would love to come back here the next time we're in Ho Chi Minh.

Great spot in a quiet alley in the heart of D1”
Ngoc Phan guest house is perfectly situated down a small alley right of a main backpacker road. You get the hustle of D1 and yet a nice quiet spot to sleep. Chau and his wife were super friendly and made nice, simple breakfasts for us. Close to everything. The rooms are good size and very clean. Lots of hot water too. Would stay again for sure!

Simple guesthouse with great service ”
ngoc phan guest house is small but don't let this put you off the charming owner and wife are very friendly and will do anything to assist your stay. we stayed in good size room with large bed, wardrobe, chair, tv with several international channels and fridge. the shower in the bathroom was great - strong constant flow of hot water, the whole room was cleaned daily and we were given fresh towels. the price of the room included breakfast, which made us smile a choice of either: tea, coffee or lemon juice to go with either: fried egg, scrambled egg or omlette each with a large fluffy roll - simple if you don't require a lot of food in the morning.

Nice quiet guest house but very busy area.”
ho chi minh is an interesting place. this guest house is right in the heart of the 'party' area of ho chi minh city, however considering the location it's very quiet. it's ideal for those who enjoy the nightlife but still want to sleep alongside those who just want to use it as a base for taking tours. it's also very safe - the staff are always available and the rooms are secure. i'd recommend this place for singles or couples, but not so much for families based on the location being so close to the nightclubs, etc. all in all a good place to stay in hcmc...

Nice and quiet Hotel located centrally”
we stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. located amid the "tourist district" of ho-chi-minh-city you have all the major sightseeing points in walking distance. the hotel is quiet, since it is build in an back-alley, which is no problem (feels safe). the rooms are clean, spacious and have a window. breakfast was simple but okay (egg, bread, jam and some fruits). all in all i can recommend it and would stay there again.

Wonderful stay at Ngoc Phan”
We arrived in Saigon very early in the morning so we were worried about the 2 pm check-in; however the friendly couple at Ngoc Phan happily showed us to a room before 10 a.m. which was greatly appreciated. The hotel is very simple but extremely clean and well protected from street noise. The friendly and accommodating staff really made a difference. The hotel may be only one star in amenities but we were treated like 5 stars.

Great place to stay”
This is one of several trips to Vietnam. Have stayed at another guesthouse with nice hosts, but Ncoc Phan's large room won us over. We stayed a week. Will stay there again. Best trip to Ho Chi Minh in the several times in the city. Breakfast was just right to start off the day. Everyone always pleasant.

nice staff, clean room, good price”
Very nice young man to show us to our room. Was able to speak good English. Room was clean, not much of a view but worth the price. Breakfast was quite basic but fresh. Arranged a day trip, via the hotel staff, to see the Cu Chi tunnels and wasn't disappointed. We didn't have to pay for our trip until checkout. Kind of hard to find hotel.. we took airport public bus 152 ($1 for 2 people) from ground level across from BK upon arrival. Takes about 30 mins to get to bus station near Ben Thanh market. Then walked about 15 mins to hotel on Bui Vien. Once on foot be very cautious crossing ANY STREET, or you will be a goner eh! Once you find the civic number on blue overhead banner then enter the small alley. Ngoc Phan is at end on right. HINT... download an offline copy of Saigon on Google maps app, you can use GPS and track yourself on your journey. We did and it was probably the best idea we had the entire trip.

Overall great stay at Ngoc Phan even if we stayed for one night. Great value for what we paid for, central location but away from the noise of the street. The owner and staff were very friendly, they made breakfast for us earlier to accommodate our travel plans. Rooms were big and clean! Would stay here again.

Family hotel and professional service”
I and my family(4 adults 2 children: 1 girl at 4 years old, 1 boy at 3 years old) went to hochimin city on 8 may 2012. This guesthouse is in the center point of backpacker zone and near red bull pub. No sign of the guesthouse's name by the bui vien street while it situated at the end of lane. There is no elevator in this cozy guesthouse but no problems to our group who stayed in family room no 201 & 301. The owner and his family gave care to all guests. The guest house was very clean. The staff served us with delicious breakfast while guests asked to have it more. All staff were very friendly.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, huge rooms”
My friend and I booked the family room as it offered a large space at only a slight price increase. It was amazing! Huge room with a balcony. The whole guest house is extremely clean and smart. As one walks up the marble staircase to the rooms (of which there are only five) it feels quite palatial. The staff were always very friendly and keen to help. This is definitely the best Guest House I have stayed in.

Exceptional”
Location is heart of the city. It is convenient for tourists. But the main street outside is crowded with people and cars especially when return to guest house at night time. Since guest house is at the end of a small lane, it is quiet for sleep. A lady working in the guest house is friendly. She makes good breakfast.
