A relaxing Christmas treat”
Both myself and my two daughters had a wonderfully relaxing stay at the Ngwe Saung a Yacht Club for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The friendly, smiling staff were so attentive to our every wish, the grounds were immaculately kept and the beach, pool area was very clean and perfectly maintained. Our beds were blissfully comfortable and the catering was excellent. Really enjoyed the lavish breakfast buffet and our Christmas Eve dinner. The only thing that we felt was slightly lacking was the lack of any additional entertainment to help to create a festive atmosphere. But perhaps that's what many guests prefer, the peace and quiet. To be fair, we didn't check out the nightclub as there was an additional cost. I felt that hotel guests should be entitled to go to the nightclub free of charge. Sadly we also had to pay to rent out flippers and masks. Many other hotels I have been to provide these at no extra cost, I think it would be a good idea to invest in some water sports equipment such as kayaks or paddle boards or even a volleyball net to allow guests to enjoy the beach area and get them to mingle more. Just an idea....this might keep people from straying away from the hotel in search of other activities. Thanks for a great stay though...
solitary splendor on the Bay of Bengal”
I highly recommend this hotel. The quality of the facilities and food is very high, and the hotel's location as the southernmost resort in Ngwe Saung means that guests have the beach to the south almost entirely to themselves. Rooms and villas are spacious, clean and well-appointed. The beds are bliss. The meals we had were all very well-prepared, thanks to the Italian chef who has just arrived, along with the talented kitchen and wait staff. The menu includes both local and international dishes. (I considered requesting the panna cotta for breakfast, it was so good.) The hotel is newly opened and guests are still limited in number, and so there are some small kinks that remain to be worked out, but on the couple of occasions we asked for assistance, the staff were immediately responsive. We are grateful for such a relaxing and rejuvenating stay.
Beautiful infinity pool”
Ngwe Saung Yacht Club and Marina is a great hotel. The rooms are lovely and the staff very attentive. The breakfast is good and the infinity pool right by the beach is wonderful.
Very nice hotel where to relax for a few days!”
Could not have asked for a better stay for my 3 day relax stay at Ngwe Saung. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very quiet also and as it is a bit far from the town it kind of has a massive clean beach that is empty! Also the cocktails at the North Point Restaurant were superb! Great stay overall! Would recommend and come back again! Only negative point was that the swimming pool was slightly dirty and it took some time for it to be cleaned.
Quiet, Peaceful and Beautiful Beach”
You will get a nice shallow private beach to swim in the ocean. Sunset is so beautiful and you can enjoy it fullest from hotel beach beds. Breakfast buffet is best in the whole Ngwe Saung. Infinity pool is so cool. Staffs are polite. Rooms are clean and cozy. Only one thing to complaint. Ice cream is quite expensive.
One of the nicer Ngwe Saung hotels”
This was a great stay. We stayed with our two young children and the staff treated them very well. All that said, some of the amenities (especially breakfast) was disappointing. Coffee was very bad and food selection for breakfast is not representative of a four star establishment. There seems to be a trend in Myanmar that, as long as you're 'good enough' of an establishment, you somehow get 4-5 stars, when anywhere else in the world it would be 3-4 stars. But, hey, if you go to Ngwe Saung, and you have the $ to spend, this is the best place to stay. I've tried to be honest, clear, and accurate in this review. Like I said, a good place to go...we'll probably be back. Is it the best or worthy of the 5* rating? No.
Overall great- just a little slow...”
Beautiful location, plush surroundings, great view of the sunset from the first floor rooms, comfortable beds, great shower, rooms regularly cleaned by sweet friendly cleaning staff. The only down side to this hotel is the service in the restaurant- this week we waited for over an hour twice for our meals, with meals also arriving at different times and being forgotten.... This seemed to be a problem in the kitchen as the waiting staff were professional and available. Given the prices in the restaurant we expected better service.. Overall one of the nicest hotels with the best customer service in Ngwe Saung
The Class of Ngwe Saung”
Great location, very clean, excellent facilities with a solid restaurant. The best hotel in Ngwe Saung.
Beautiful resort”
Beautiful beach and nice to walk in the morning. Staffs very friendly and courteous. Did not have time to do activities but it has many options. It has two restaurants and one in the main lobby is sold with $ and North Point restaurant owned by the same resort will take you with the golf cart because it is far to walk and can pay with Mm currency. Coconut is K 1000, very tasty. The pool is big but deep and water is cold. Toiletries are also nice not cheap ones. There is Gym and Spa and get message with reasonable price. Love this resort but the drive is like 6 hours and roads are bumpy no flight. There should be signs directing to the resort but there is no signs at the junction and we got into wrong way to the village
Good”
Accommodation is quite expensive in this area. The yacht club has some amazing facilities and the breakfast is superb. However, the restaurant was expensive and the food was bland. Our room was cleaned everyday. We struggled to get on he wifi. Also, the basic rooms have no ho water. It's very far out of town, but a motorbike is only 1,500. They should really provide a free shuttle service, but they don't. Motorbike and bike rental is extortionate from the hotel, but only 10-12,000 in town.
Food and Facilities”
Overall, it was a truly relaxing experience. FOOD - To have made it really exquisite, it would require the "western food" to actually be more western. Unfortunately as with so many local resorts, the "western food", caters more to the "local" palette than to the "typical Westerner". FACILITIES - Again, the "typical Westerner" would love to have some deck chairs and umbrellas actually on the beach. They would pretty much sit there all day and order drinks and ice cream from a nearby "Bar". That's our idea of a beach holiday. The kind of prices one pays requires this kind of service...for a "typical westerner".
Reception staff are rude, faraway from town, good breakfast”
Receptionists never smiled during our stay. Wasnt interested in giving us any suggestions abt local restaurants. Their north point restaurant is good but their high pressure sale strategy is repulsive. Very far away from ngwe saung town, so you are pretty much limited to hotel premise unless you are paying 5k each way for taxi. Breakfast is good but horrible coffee. Large tour groups from China check in here every night so it does get very loud in the evening and morning.
Awesome stay!!”
Really enjoyed the time at the Yatch Club Resort. The facilities are child friendly, which made our time there perfect. Wonderful swimming pool and great beach! It's also a good place to relax at the pool and read a good book. We'll definitely come back!
nice oasis!”
Food is awful Room and pool fantastic Staff very well trained and aware and very service orientated Motorbikes go on the beach which isn't so nice, but that's all of Ngwe Saung
Short break away”
Decided to opt for a short break away from the city, and Ngwe Saung seemed the most reasonable to get to, however despite the location being reasonable the hotel is located 3km away from most other mainstream other restaurants and 6km from the town itself making getting out on foot a task. The biggest issue is the insane price up the NSYC adds to its products including simple things like bottles of water or a beer. The food is reasonable but again way over priced for what it is considering much better quality food is available just up the road and for a fraction of the price, but again the distance often makes you lean towards staying in house for food. Having stayed there a few times now in a few different room types, this time I have a villa, I would recommend it over other places in Ngwe Saung.
Perfect”
The breakfast is excellent, the facilities are pristine, and the beach was free from masses of people. This place is a bit removed from other hotels/resorts and the center of town - a perfect getaway if you are seeking some peace and quiet and a beautiful beach. We stayed in a basic room, which served our purpose just fine, but note that the basic room has no hot water.
Best in Ngwe Saung”
Best hotel and best location in Ngwe Saung.
Friendly price, value for money, good for long stay, ”
best place in Ngwe Saung for water sports activities
excellent service ”
Although it was out of our price range as we had intended to camp for 30$ /night we were told when we got there they were not open, perhaps a website could be updated for travelers. Otherwise, we could not say anything bad about this hotel, it was incredibly clean, well kept and staff were helpful with everything. It was on a lovely area of the beach (best swimming spot). Rooms were spacious and impeccable. Food and dining was wonderful. We were very happy with this hotel.
Relaxing”
Very relaxing. The pool was fantastic and the beach was clean with few people. The staff were all very helpful and kind. The food was OK. The breakfast was decent, but ordering dinners or lunches was a bit expensive. The resort isn't near the area that has many restaurants, you'll need to take a taxi or motorcycle taxi which takes about 20 mins. I really appreciated the service during the New Year celebration.
