Amazing Honeymoon to Amalfi”

Immediately we were welcomed by the hardworking and friendly staff at the NH collection Amalfi. While we waited for our room to be ready, we were welcomed with snacks & complementary wine on the terrace overlooking the beautiful city. About 1 hour later our room was ready- WOW... they upgraded us to the honeymoon suite free of charge. It had the most panoramic views & a tray of welcome chocolates. The rest of the trip we spent in awe at the immaculate facilities, lemon tree garden, convent/chapel, infinity pool..etc. The staff knew our last name & greeted us each day, which was such a nice touch. We would recommend this hotel to everyone! Amazing! Thank you for making our stay in Amalfi the best memories for years to come!

Late season stay at Grand Hotel Convento”

We stayed at the Convento during the last week of the season. It's position in Amalfi gives it commanding views over the coastal town, and every room has a sea view. Although the hotel is only 500m away from Amalfi centre, you either need to time your visits around the shuttle bus, or be prepared for a steep descent by stairs on the opposite side of the road - a torch at night is recommended! We stayed in a standard room, and it was spacious, light and airy, with minimalist furnishing. The bathroom has top quality fixtures and fittings. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and the pilows were high quality - a good nights sleep is guaranteed! A good quality, wall mounted TV with a Skymovie channel was an added bonus. A couple of downsides to the room - no tea/coffee making facilities - something that might surprise British guests. There is also no iron, and it is hotel policy not to provide one. There is a laundry/pressing service but it is very expensive. Hotel staff kindly arranged to steam a couple of items for us as a courtesy gesture which was appreciated as we were attending a wedding. Breakfast was amazing - every requirement was catered for- cereal, muesli, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cooked breakfast, fresh cheese and cold cuts, a range of fresh breads, cakes and pastries, fruit juice and free flowing prosecco if you so desired! The best breakfast selection I've ever experienced. Relaxing on the terrace either during the day or at night is just a lovely experience - plenty of comfy sofas, and great views. The bar prices are expensive, so we tended to have only a night cap when returning from the town. The mini bar in the room is also expensive, particularly for soft drinks at 6€ each. All in all, we enjoyed every aspect of our stay - the staff and service were all excellent and we'd have no hesitation recommending it to others.

Felt Cheated”

I generally only stay in 5 star hotels. This is probably the most money I have ever paid for a hotel but thought it was worth it based on the pictures and settings on their website. The pictures on the website that I booked for (Junior Suite) did not at all match up to the room that I eventually got. They then told me that the new room I got was an 'upgrade' to the presidential suite with 1 bed and had a wall splitting the room from the very small seating area. They then moved me to the Junior Suite I originally booked (and still different to the pictures) and this was more open plan and better than the so called 'Presidential Suite'. There was zero ambience in the hotel, I joked with my partner saying it was like a morgue, and cannot understand the high ratings from people, maybe it is just me, but my partner agreed with the above comments. There was hardly ever music playing in the communal areas, there was 1 x 2 slice toaster for all of the guests in the entire hotel at breakfast and eggs came burnt on edges every morning. This was definitely one of the worst 5 star hotels I have every stayed in (value for money wise) but the staff were lovely and extremely helpful, pity about the ambience and high prices of extremely average rooms. I definitely left feeling ripped off and will never return.

A beautiful hotel w amazing service”

Excellent service. Came for our honeymoon and were greeted w champagne and rose petals on the bed. Beautiful pool and gorgeous cloister from when the hotel was still a convent would be perfect for a wedding or party. Staff was so kind and helpful. Breakfast was well done with eggs cooked to order, coffee drinks, meats and cheeses and delicious yogurts, pastry, fruit, bruschetta toppings, local jam. Francesca at the front desk and Frederica in the breakfast room were especially gracious and helpful. Highly recommend if it's in your budget.

The best hotel in Amalfi”

We stayed in this hotel for our honeymoon. It was the best hotel!! The balcony suit room has wonderful view and the people working for this hotel are super gentle and kind. They planned our trip to Ravello as well! We would love to stay this hotel again! Grazie!!!! ;-))

Really nice hotel with a view! Staff was friendly except some of the concierge. Location is pretty good up the mountains. View from my room was really good! Full sea view, lovely terrace with perfect view and restaurant is superb but rather pricy! Would love to go back again

Amazing”

My husband and I travelled for 1 month in Italy. Your hotel was our favourite. Beautiful location with amazing views, we got a prosecco on arrival and it even snowed! The breakfast and dinner was delicious and the staff were terrific. The gym and spa facilities were also marvellous. Thank you, we will recommend to friends and hopefully we can return one day.

Stunning week in Amalfi”

My husband and I stayed here for 11 nights in June 2017 and had the most incredible time. We were upgraded to a suite that had a balcony, sitting room, walk in wardrobe, incredible bathroom and bedroom. The room was stunning, the facilities were also amazing - the infinity pool has stellar views of the coast. There is a small fitness centre next to the Spa which has a couple of cardio machines and a multi-weights machine. We had 2 massages while we stayed there and both were among the best massages I have ever had. The only thing I would say is be careful in the bathroom - the floors get extremely slippery when even the slightest bit wet and we both nearly stacked it a few times! Incredible week and a half, would absolutely stay again!

Great Hotel, but poor service for food and clients”

We really enjoyed the hotel and thought it was beautifully finished. However we had the following reservations; Food - I do not expect to pay extra for scrambled, poached or whatever eggs at breakfast. Everything should be included in the breakfast buffet. The cost of the hotel ultimately dictates that this should be the case instead of 8 euros for two eggs. Ridiculous. Bathroom - our bathroom shower leaked water into the bathroom floor and cause a slip hazard and constant towels on the floor. Very annoying. We also had a shower which changed temperature sporadically from hot to cold and back. We notifies the front desk and were given excuses for the whole stay, with nothing actually being done about it.

Worth staying in historic hotel”

The location is reallly nice and a view from the hotel also is amazing. Enjoyed a lot the view during the breakfast at balcony. But if someone asks me to recommend a hotel in Amalfi, I would rather recommend other hotels. It it still too expensive compared the facility quality.

Astonishing”

This hotel has astonishing views and excellent staff. You can see the beautiful sea surrounding Amalfi right at the hotel. You also have a panoramic view of the town close by. They have a free shuttle that can drop you off and pick you up to the town. The staff are very hospitable. They provides us with all the information we might need especially in regards to transportation. When we were checking out, Carlo assisted us with our luggage and came back to tell us that our transportation has arrived. He also asked is if we enjoyed Amalfi, which we did even though we went on off season. Very nice of him to come all the way back up to tell us that our private transfer, which is not part of the hotel, has arrived. We would love to come back again when its spring or summer time.

Acceptable”

I was in this Hotel 30 years ago and it was an incredible place .so charming with a such story ,simple but beautiful now NH brook all the charm with horrible details cheap modern like the room door the night table lamp ,the outside furniture and the horrible sofa in the cloister....it was so simple to do a big great hotel from this old monastery and beautiful situation . This hotel has not the level of 5 stars...not clean .service not god, breakfast very commun no local products.....Iwill never come back here such a disappointment for this prices ,Santa Catarina is incomparable for a 5 stars
