I'd nick into Nick's any time!”
We'd been happy with other accommodation on previous visits, but in five years since our last visit the price had soared. A combination of Nick's price, and good reviews on this and other sites, led us to try Nick's, which was a bit ask seeing we were staying for 3 months! It worked ideally. Price was good. We had a spacious room, with heavy bamboo furniture, comfortable bed, usually hot showers. Cleanliness was meticulous inside and in the grounds of the compound.Noisy roosters and other birds nearby, but we soon got used to that. Noisy early evening dance performances, but usually over by 8.30. Worst part was thoughtless loud talking by some fellow guests, but that could happen anywhere. Staff were very helpful and friendly, always ready with transport and performance bookings if wanted. Sited close to restaurants, shops; walking distance from famed Monkey Forest and central market. Simple breakfast included, served to our own veranda, tasty and filling. No hesitation in going there again!

Basic Homestay at a great price”
First, the good: Nick's Homestay had friendly, helpful staff members that took care of me, brought a decent breakfast to my room everyday, and kept my basic room clean. Located directly on Hanoman street, it was also very convenient for Nyepi Ogoh-ogoh parade. Now the bad: NOISE, as other reviewers mentioned. From the hours of 4-7AM, I simply could not sleep due to the loud crowing of the roosters directly adjacent to the standard fan room's outside wall, literally, 3 meters from the bed. There's really nothing Nick's can do about it as it is not their animals, and I assume the problem exists all over Ubud's densely packed homestays. Also, the wifi signal was rather weak in the standard fan rooms.

Comfortable and convenient in Ubud”
We were happy to stay at Nick's for three months! Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Pleasant amnbience. Nourishing and filling breakfast, served when the guest wants it. Spacious room. Awkward points: pebbles on shower floor (but there is another shower over the bath if the guest prefers); inconsistency of hot water for our particular room. Very conveniently located in Ubud. We were attracted by the price, but happy with the standard.

Great value for price”
Nick's Homestay is truly great value for money. The standard room gets you exactly what you'd expect, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, and generally well-sized room! Breakfast everyday included toast, a fresh fruit salad and some tea. Great location, just off teh main road full of shops, healthy restaurants and spas. The staff was attentive and helpful when we decided to upgrade into Nick's Pension, which though was slightly more expensive, was AGAIN well worth the price!

Traditional Balinese LivingCompound”
Over all a nice experience. it was good to see how traditional Balinese house looks like although there is a wide selection of this type of accommodation in Ubud. Rooms are very nicely designed, high ceilings, bamboo furniture, private, shaded balconies where your breakfast is served. The bathroom, specially toilet was not clean but it seems like it is just the standard in Bali. Hotel is located off main road, so its quiet if you disregard caged birds, dogs and chickens next door - again its something that may be annoying but is typical for Ubud and reflects its specific athmosfere. Just be prepared. It's about 10 min walk from The Yoga Barn.

Great homestay in a traditional balinese house”
The place was wonderful, the rooms are located on the garden of a traditional balinese house. The garden are amazingly looked after and we really enjoy relaxing on the very small terace of our room as we had the view on the garden. The breakfast was included but was not really good, it didn't really matter to us as the room was so cheap! The place is wonderful for people who like to wake up early as there are some roosters around and start singing at around 4.00 a.m, as we are not we just used our ear plugs and slept very well! If you want to experience the traditional Bali and try to avoid big fancy hotels I really recommand this place, it is a little paradise in the middle of Ubud, it is 5 minutes walking to the Monkey forest and the staff is wonderful!

Amazing unique home stay”
What an amazing time we had at Nicks. Don't be put off by the map view, nicks homestay is right there, from the moment you walk onto the street, you are in Ubud. Markets, massages etc The walk to the monkey forest takes 5minutes, 45minutes if you are distracted with the many stores you will pass on the way. Staff are wonderful, nice and friendly. Lots of animals for young children to look at. Gardens are beautifully maintained. Would highly recommend to everyone!! We have just finished our holiday, and spent the last three nights at paradise plaza, yet, would prefer to still be at nicks homeatay over the 5star resort.

Charming Garden in the middle of shopping area”
Nicks was our little garden heaven where we could relax between all the shopping and sightseeing that is available in the area. It is very central with access to all Ubuds main attractions and lots of great restaurants, specially if you are in to healthy options/ vegetarian restaurants. And the area is also perfect for shopping. Superior rooms are newly renovated in charming Balinese style. Big private balconies or terrace (we chose balcony for more privacy). Very relaxed, safe and calm atmosphere all over the hotel. Really friendly and and helpful staff. The garden is well-kept and very charming. If you look for a relaxing place in the very center of the city, this is one of the best options.

Continuing to please”
Excellent. We were there for three months last year; we were happy to return, albeit for only two weeks this year, and again were not disappointed. Although we could well do without it, air-con arrived while we were there. Staff was again excellent, cheerful, and couldn't do enough for us. Care of the property is meticulous. Breakfast, provided, is ample: jaffle with egg or banana, and generous bowl of fruit, with tea (or Bali coffee if you request it) is brought to the verandah every morning. Family atmosphere. If you expect 5-star you might be disappointed, but perfect for us.

Great location in Ubud”
Had a nice stay at Nick's for two nights. Very good location to walk around the entire town of Ubud. Though I was not happy that the staff didn't offer discounts on the day time activities, boat and taxi trips that I booked. After asking around I found that I could have gotten things for less than half of what I paid by going to a tourist desk. Usually it is the guesthouse that offers the best price :(

Yes, it's Cheap. But At Least the Towels Should NOT Smell Bad”
Location-wise, Nick's Homestay is just a five-minute walk from Plataran Resort, one of the stops of Kura-Kura Bus' Ubud Line. It's also near the Monkey Forest. I booked a Standard Fan room, and I was assigned Room #4, which I believe is the farthest. The room is big enough for two, but expect screened windows. That means that the noise (e.g., sound of the birds and the conversation of guests in the other room, chanting from the other compound) can be unbearable. I like the low pricing, really, but I don't think I have to put up with stinky towels and bed sheets just because I didn't pay more.

Central location, nice gardens, friendly staff”
Central location, about 5-10 min walk from Main Street. Lots of nice cafes/restaurants and shops on same road. Very close to monkey jungle. Helpful staff, made us breakfast at 6.30 am as we were leaving early and arranged a tour of mt Batur for us. Also booked standard room but none available when we arrived so we were put in deluxe room overnight which was big and had beautiful bathroom and balcony over garden. Standard room was nice, clean and basic, as expected for price. Only downside is the animals, not just theirs but also the neighbours... Cockerels at 5am every morning and all day, dogs, etc!! Not great for a good nights sleep. And also fan a little weak in standard room so quite warm. Overall a nice stay.

Staying here is like sleeping in a zoo”
Staying at nick's was a disappointment after reading all the positive reviews online. At times i was wondering if they were even talking about the same place as i was staying at. My room was infested with ants, covering most of the bedroom and bathroom, and the amount of them kept imcreasing as my stay progressed. The room by itself is clean with clean sheets, and the bathrooms are ok if you look look away from the ant problem. The garden area and the build up of the outside of nicks is really pretty, however they have roosters, chickens, birds in cages, 4 dogs, cats etc, and they all run around freely during the day as well as during the night. They make so much noice it's impossible to sleep and the same goes for the fan in the room which i just had to turn of. I would not stay here again as there are plenty of places that charge the same for better quality.

Good stay good price ”
Great. Location is fairly good only a 5-10 minute walk to main strip and Monkey Forest. Had good double bed and good fan (cooler at night so AC not really needed anyway) showers warm up after about a minute and temple gardens are lovely! Worth the price plus good brekkie included :)

Quiet place in city center ”
We spent 3 nights and we enjoyed our stay very much. The staff is very kind and helpful! Location is good and close to everything. The rooms are in a quiet and lovely garden far away from the city traffic noises. The walls between rooms are pretty thin so if your neighbor is noisy you will hear though. Apart from that it is a very recommendable place and good value.

very good location and nice beautiful place to sta”
do get a room with air conditioning, you have the choice of fan, too, but it is way to hot for a fan. The location is really good, the rooms spatious and personnel really nice. Breakfast is included, but it is very simple so buy some cookies, I did enjoy my experience here and it is a beautiful place. i did really like it.
