lovely hotel ”
Night hotel was lovely. Located on a street off Times Square, the location couldnt have been better for tourists. Small hotel, decor is lovely, exactly as you see in the photos. Rooms were not as small as I expected. Housekeeping were great, our room was cleaned every day, chocolates left on pillows too. Staff were nice, our first night there we were given a bottle of champagne compliments of the staff which was a lovely gesture. I would stay at this hotel again no problem, there would be just a few things i would as for: a room up high or at the back of the hotel - we were on the second floor facing the street & there is building work going on across the road, drilling starts at 7 every morning :( Would make sure to ask for a telephone card - my partner used the phone for 13 minutes in total over the week long stay and was charged. When we went to pay the bill, we were told that we could have purchased a calling card for which could have been used for the week. would have been good to know before the $77 bill!!! but apart from those 2 things, there is nothing bad i can say about this hotel. it is really lovely. just remember its called Night hotel, and it is dark!!
Great friendly staff with nice decoration! ”
this hotel offer great location (right at times square) and very helpful and friendly staff! the hotel room is clean and nicely decorated, although the hotel room is on te small size (think japanese hotel), although the location more than make up for the small room, however i will not recommend this place if you are travelling with children as the room is simply too small for that! it has enough room for the bed and one to two suitcase and that's it! anyway, i will definitely stay at this hotel again when i travel to new york city again, it is a great place for solo traveller!
gotham city hotel - very stylish, though small”
if you enter the night hotel, you will be amazed by the taste the interieur designer had. very cool. staff at the reception were quick and friendly. the rooms are small. actually very small. we stayed for a full week and they offered us the "biggest" one. it was probably the smallest hotel room I ever had, though very clean! the boutique hotel is very noisy. not only because of the times square location but also because of the construction work on the opposite side of the street (they build a new building there). the air condition is also inacceptable. we turned it off, but in summer time this might be a serious issue. overall, no regret, but I wouldn't re-book if I would stay for a full week. for the weekend: perfect!
Great Stay at a fab central hotel”
Me and my partner had a great stay at the Night Hotel. Central location right by times square. Literally within a stones throw. Times Square is an ideal location as it is accessible to the metro stations in and around this area. The room size is the only major fault I have with this hotel but you are barely in it. (NYC is the city that never sleeps so get out and about and experience it). The receptionists and bellboys are always very courteous and mindful of your requirements. All in all had a great time at the Night Hotel and would recommend this hotel.
Great location and fun atmosphere”
I had a great stay at the Night Hotel. Registration was fast and easy, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location 1 block off Times Square was ideal. There was very little street noise, the beds were very comfortable, and the atmoshphere effects like bed underlighting added to the experience. Bathroom was more than adequate with a nice-sized shower, the king room provided enough room to get around. The only minor complaint is that there is just 1 elevator for all guests and at times had to wait a bit to get to/from 6th floor room.
Stunning hotel, great location, staff and food”
Had a great two days here. It's a beautiful hotel, and I loved the design and feel of the hotel. It's quirky and gothic like, very stylish and cool. The staff were excellent from front of house, reception, through to restaurant and bar. I ate in the Red Moon restaurant and the food was superb. Plus the cocktails at the bar from Alice were amazing. The location is brilliant, less than a minute from Times Square for many restuarants and shops. The bust tours leave from around Times Square should you wiah to take one of those. I arranged a airport car via Simon on front of house and he was really helpful for my whole trip. Can't thank the Alexander and the whole team enough for a great stay. Highly recommended.
Super modern and artsy design - great staff”
My stay was very pleasant!, a great location in Time Square, the hotel staff were SUPER friendly and helpful!. I really loved the design of this place it was very NYC, the price was what it was but worth it, I read some bad comments about the size of the room etc. but me being a world traveler for work and pleasure I can say this room had plenty of room for me and was almost twice the size of some places I have stayed in world at this price range and its location!... I will most likely stay here again next time I visit NYC
Small rooms, but very comfortable!”
I had a very nice stay at the Night Hotel. I had read other reviews that said the rooms were small and they weren't kidding! The room I had (one queen-size bed) was very small. There's basically just a bed that takes up most of the room, there's a small desk with a wall-mounted television, and a minibar. There's also a small closet with an ironing board, an umbrella, and a bathrobe. The bathroom is also small, with a small sink, toilet, and shower. At first, it is shocking how small the room is but you get used to it, and I'm told this is not uncommon in New York City. The A/C worked great and the blackout curtains allowed me to sleep in as late as I wanted. The coolest part of this hotel is its unique, gothic décor. It's billed as one of the sexiest hotels around, and—while I wasn't there for a romantic weekend—I can imagine it would be a great hotel for such a getaway. I would definitely stay there again.
Amazing location! Right next to times square”
The night hotel is an absolutely beautiful hotel with great design and an amazing location. It's located about a 1minute walk from times square, right in the heart of the theatre district. It's also close by to a subway station which makes exploring the rest of the city quite easy. The front desk staff are wonderful and extremely helpful, so make sure you utilise there service. The only downside to the hotel was the shower. It was attached to the wall in a strange way so every time you would turn the water on it would spray all over the bathroom floor. It's a very minor complaint. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a place in manhatten to experience NYC's sites and attractions as well as food and nightlife. I'll definetly be staying there again.
Great location - felt like a rock star!”
It was my first stay in NYC and i couldn't have asked for a more amazing hotel. The decor when you walk in is amazing and the service was friendly but not too friendly. The room is small, but for the amount of time I spent in it, it was fine. The location was great - i arrived late Sunday evening so didn't step out until the Monday evening and it was a 2min walk away from Times Square. And a short distance to 5th Ave and the shops. I checked out Wednesday and my flight didn't leave until later that evening - they happily stored my bag for the duration of the day. They also gave a print out when the cleaner comes through to cover the weather and any touristy sites that I should be visiting. The only minor negative, is some of the paint in room was chipped. but given everything else was amazing it was easy to overlook. Overall a great stay and I am planning to stay there again next year.
Fabulous location, contemporary decor”
Like almost all New York hotel rooms, it was on the small side, but the use of space, light and contrasting black and white color scheme, made it seem romantic rather than just cramped. The mattress was very comfortable and our room on the 5th floor was very quiet. The hotel staff was helpful and polite. We would definitely go back there for a romantic get away weekend.
Super stylish rooms that make up for size”
Vikram Chatwal's new hotel called Night has all the psychadelic elements going for it. A dark hued lobby lined with stylish b/w fashion photos, postcards and other branded paraphenelia is dark, but welcoming. Thankfully, the rooms aren't as dark as some of the earlier reviews suggested. They may not have natural light, but they're well lit artificially. Two services during the day (a turn down in the evening that leaves chocolates on your bed), hassle free internet (at a cost) and a brilliant location just a few meters from Times Square, makes this a hotel to go back to. Just don't expect a homely hotel though. The branding on the carpets, the tiny closet, and an awkwardly placed TV may be OK for a short break... but may be an issue if stays get longer.
great location - a few steps right to Times Square”
The location was great! it was just a few steps away from Times Square! The central of NYC, the sleepless nights in NYC. Great restaurants, shopping area and you can basically walk everywhere from the hotel. The rooms were gothly ddecorated, dark and comfortable. Would love to visit again :)
Lovely hotel, great location.”
Check in and out very smooth, staff helpful when information etc was requested. Room was small but as expected for NY but interiors where excellent. Would recommend to others - great location just off from Times square.
Great location. Staff was very helpful. Bed comfy.”
the hotel was at an amazing location, half a block from the middle of times square. this is an amazing central location to all of manhattan. we used the subway as our main mode of transportation to get around the city, and the closest subway station is just 3 blocks west at w42 st. the hotel is on w 45th. the hotel is also only about 3 avenues away from 5th avenue, which is where a lot of shopping is. it's also within a 15-20 minute walk of central park and columbus circle. so great location! also, amazing service...the hotel staff was extremely helpful, and even helped us make a last minute dinner reservation at morimoto, which we really wanted to try.
Fantastic Employees.”
This is my second visit to NYC, my last visit was good, but the hotel is stayed was awful, so this time i took more time to decide, where i should be staying. Night hotel was fantastic, Friendly staffs, Very helpful, Look out these employees ( should say friends) Mr. Simon the doorman, ask him for restaurant to dine, he gave me great suggestions. Mr.Patrick,Great conceigre, ask him for anything about the city, he will answer you. There was this girl in the front-desk, i was unable to connect my laptop to the internet, so i went down, she gave me a laptop to browse. Being a hotelier myself, i was overwhelmed with the overall service. I would recommend this hotel, strongly.
Short but Great!”
I had a short stay in NYC just to catch my flight out of JFK. I had one problem where i locked my passport and wallet in the Safe the night I arrived (Friday around 10pm) because the safe was low battery and wouldn't open. Initially, i was advised that they could only open it the next day Saturday around 10am, but that was not an option as I was taking the 11am flight out of JFK, meaning I would have to leave the hotel not later than 8am the next day. In any case, it took the hotel 3 hours (1am) to secure the code for a "low battery" error for the safe as the "Master Code" they had was not working. Aside from the 3 hours wasted in the hotel waiting for them to open the safe due, everything else was good. The location is indeed very central, just a 1 minute walk or a 30 second run, you'll be right in the heart of Times Square!
Great location, good service”
We stayed for three nights. The hotel is next to Time Square, so ideal for shopping on 5th, Musea (MoMa) and Broadway. Rooms are small but nice. Staff is very friendly and give excellent advice on resto's and bars. Food in the resto (Japanese) is also excellent. Would go there again. Disadvantage: they don't have Gym and no breakfast.
good location, but small”
it was a good hotel. nice theme. internet is free if you sign up as a member, so ask before. i would recomend it to first timers in new york. its 4minutes walk to times square, thats a big plus
Great location, stylish rooms & clean”
Our stay at the Night Hotel was great! The location is as good of a location as you can get right on Times Square. The room was very clean and very unique. We gained some great advice from the bar staff for places to visit and were even given a complimentary cocktail which was awesome.
