Beautiful quite location with friendly owner”

First roykan experience, clean, neat, plenty of space and lovely countryside.

Walk from trainstation manageable with suitcases. Owner greeted us with cold drinks and tea. Quickly settled into room and then was transported by owner to the temple area which saved us quite a bit of time. Arranged with the owner to experience an Onsen in the mountains later in the evening at his suggestion. After the sight seeing and dinner we were driven to the Onsen that evening(8.00pm)and it was a major highlight of our trip. The indoor and outdoor Onsen was magic. Enjoyed a beer and wine afterwards and the owner of Narusawa then came and collected us. Saw monkeys running wild across from the lodge which was cool. Overall an excellent choice of accommadation for the one night we were in Nikko.

      Excellent host”

Our stay at the Nikko Narusawa Lodge was great. Our host, Yuji, was very helpful to us. He offered a free shuttle between the home and the train station every day, he also offers a trip to a local onsen (public bath) every night. The fee for the bath itself is 800 yen. The place is filled with little notes explaining the facilities, ideal if you arrive early. The communal area is cozy, too. The only drawback would be the cleanliness of the communal areas. The rooms themselves are clean enough, but there were cobwebs in some corners of the corridors.

Yuji-san, the person who runs the lodge is a very nice older man. His english was decent. I enjoyed my stay at Narusawa Lodge for two days. Yuji-san shuttles people for free to and from the local train station. He also recommends places to visit. I was happy with the service provided for the cost.

The host fetched us from Tobu Nikko Station using his car, which comfortably fit the 6 of us. The room we stayed in had 2 bunk beds and 2 single beds, perfect for our family. We were lucky since the room had an onsen type of bathroom, which only our family had access too. It was a great experience. Although the lodge was quite old, it was well maintained and you could definitely see that the host made some renovations in order to make his guests feel comfortable. The shared toilet looks new and was clean. The next morning, the host also gave us a free ride to the station. I will definitely come back if given a chance. Thank you so much!

What can I say, I adored the place. Situated in a beautiful spot 15 minutes walk away from Nikko station. Yuji (the owner) is an amazing host. He does his absolute best to ensure your stay is comfortable and even goes out of his way to help you plan your activities in Nikko. He offers free pickup and drop off to and from the station. He was always friendly and very hospitable. When you walk into the place, there is a wall of thank you letters to yuji from people all around the world who loved their stay. Mr Yuji, price, cleanliness

Mr Yuji was an extremely kind host who sat us down once we arrived to go through the sights in town, even without us asking. Hr provided us a map and was extremely detailed on what we can see and the amenities in the area (onsen, laundromat, food, etc). Everything in the pantry was also free for taking which I found extremely generous. The toilet and shower were clean although they were shared, and the room was of a very decent size. Location was not a problem as we drove. Enjoyed Nikko and wished we could have stayed there for more days.

      Lodge with character”

      Friendly owner, speaks good English

The owner very kindly picked us up from the station very welcome since we arrived after dark--and also stopped by at the combini so we could purchase breakfast for the following day. He also suggested places to visit. The lodge is well-maintained and the rooms spacious. However, there were queues for the shower/bath rooms each morning. The lodge is 10-15mins walk from the train/bus station.

      Great staff, comfortable home stay”

Wifi service, great staff, value for money

Lodge is quite closed to JR station. If you know the direction, you can walk. Otherwise, you may take taxi which costs you approx. 800 yen a ride. Wifi in room is available. I stayed on the 1st floor with a large room for 4 people which is very comfortable. Toilet and shower are public use but bad smell. Yuji is very friendly and willing to help you. Next time I will stay here.

      Nice home stay”

Very Nice staff, Value hotel, good accommodations

The hotel is not too far from Nikko station but quiet difficult to find. It takes around 10 minutes by walk. The staff there very nice and friendly. The room is not too bad. There is a pick-up service to On-Sen on the mountain every night.

Friendly place a little way up the hill.”

Spacious room, quiet, clean, friendly host.

Stayed here with my husband and 10 year old daughter. It's a long walk from the station, and up a hill - so ring before arriving. The Lodge was quiet and clean. _We stayed one night and after a long day sightseeing, it was a welcome relief to come back to the Japanese style room. My husband took advantage of the bath - and it was really hot!
