Nippon Over Tours”
Would rate this ryokan very highly. Staff went above & beyond with help. Manager personally drove me to pharmacy to get medical assistance when I became ill. Friendly, helpful service in every aspect from sorting booking difficulties right through to offering help & support throughout our stay. Though breakfast is not listed they offer a great choice which was included in room rate. No hesitation in recommending them and I will definitely go back myself when in Nikko.

Good location, very clean, nice onsen ”
This hotel is in good location, close to the temples. Just small issue - in the day of the checkout they didn’t let us keep there our bags so we had to find a solution, we returned to the main station an put our bags in the locker.

Thanksgiving (US) Weekend”
It's typical to hear that Japanese hotel staff are courteous... at the Nikko Tokinoyuu they make you feel welcome. We stayed in a Japanese style room for the experience... it was comfortable, though we we will choose a bed next time. The location is at the end of town, close enough to the Temples and food but away from the tourist traffic at the rail stations... it was quiet and an easy walk anywhere. Their breakfast was really good and enabled us to start our travels early. We looked forward to discussing our daily plans with the hotel manager... he told us where to find locally brewed sake, family restaurants, perfect hiking trails and ways to avoid the tourist traffic. We highly recommend the Nikko Tokinoyuu Hotel!

Staff were all around fantastic!”
Our stay at Nikko Tokinoyuu was fantastic. Upon arrival, staff were friendly and helpful, directing us to local attractions and quality restaurants. Staff also allowed us to leave our baggage at the hotel as we arrived before check in and wanted to see some local sights. The traditional style rooms were wonderful, very cleanly and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was good, and the traditional Japanese baths (onsen) were clean and enjoyable. I should also mention that the hotel is situated about close to train stations (about a 15 minute walk) and about a minute walk away from Nikko National Park. After checking out, staff held onto our bags once again for the day as our train back to Tokyo was not until later in the day. All in all, the experience was an excellent one, and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to really take in some of the local culture.

Great location and thoughtful staff ”
We had a great time at the hotel. The location was very close to the temples and right in front of the bus stop. I am currently five months pregnant, so the futon was not very comfortable for me, but that's my own fault. The baths were very nice and clean and the ladies' bath had a really nice selection of shampoo. Breakfast was OK, nothing fancy, but adequate. The staff was very thoughtful and provided umbrellas for the rain. Everyone was very friendly. They weren't particularly helpful with finding food options, but they do have a map of restaurants. Places close very early in Nikko and the staff didn't help us get reservations, but that could've been a language barrier problem. The room was very nicely appointed, nice Japanese toilet and very nice tatami. We stayed three nights and they comped us holding onto our luggage during our last day and even gave us an umbrella because it was raining.

Delightful Japanese-style hotel”
It was our first experience in a Japanese style hotel. The tatami mats that covered the room floor were comfortable under our sock feet. The low table was a cozy place for a cup of tea from the hot pot. The thin mattress of the fold-out bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the public bath with the "shampoo bar" was fun. Staff were friendly and helpful, and guided us to an excellent restaurant for dinner. The hotel is a short walk from the famous Nikko red bridge -- very convenient. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Speechless”
First time staying in a Japanese style hotel/ryokan. I must admit the room is spacious, cozy and clean. I never expect the futon bed to be so so comfortable until I sleep on it. Everyone include my kids & relatives all praise the comfy bed. Thumbs up to stay here as staffs are friendly and the onsen is great too! Location is good, walking distance to the famous shrine/temple and bus stop is just in front of hotel where you can take to other sightseeing spots. Overall we all have a very enjoyable trip in Nikko and the stay is most memorable! Highly recommend for couple of family with kids!

Great location and friendly staff”
The location is excellent. We bought bus pass Sanjou-ga-hara and stop at Shinkyo Bridge. The hotel just locates on the opposite side of the bus stop. There is also a bus stop to Tobu-Nikko Station in front of the hotel as well. The room is very clean and staffs are really helpful. Although they can't speak english well, but it's not a problem at all. There is no hair dryer in the room, this is the only disadvantage we found during staying here. The rest were excellent. This is best accommodation we found during this trip.

Modern Ryokan ideally located ”
We really enjoyed the stay in the spacious ryokan rooms; the staff was friendly and we could communicate in English. There is no better locaction in Nikko, it's directly at the holy bridge with a bus stop in front of the hotel. A minor point was a relatively thin and (for Europeans) not very comfortable futon; in essence it was the most interesting place and hotel on a 3 week trip.

Excellent location and friendly service”
We stayed for one night in April 2017. This hotel is perfectly located right at the entrance to the Nikko shrine area and is about 1 mile from the train station - a continuous long uphill slope so a taxi or bus are good options. The staff were great. Very friendly with pretty good English spoken. The public bath is very nice. Like every other Japanese lodgings we have stayed in the place was very clean. The only shortcoming was really the breakfast which didn't have much in the way of Japanese food and the Western food selection was a little odd perhaps. But that's a small shortcoming for an otherwise nice experience.

Great hotel! The location was extremely convenient for us - nikko national park being only a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The staff were so welcoming and kind! The public onsen was a bonus - it was clean and relaxing. Would highly recommend

Very nice, comfortable hotel in great location.”
Lovely hotel in a great location. Very friendly and helpful staff and our Japanese-style room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel was not overly fancy but for the price it was excellent and I recommend it unhesitatingly. The breakfast was nice and the onsen in the basement was very soothing after a day of walking around temples and and up and down flights of stone steps! There are quite a few restaurant options for dinner in the neighbouring buildings up on either side of the main road.

Best staffs!!”
This 3-star little hotel has the 6-star staffs. They are so professional and nice and they remember which room you are staying!! It truly make you feel like home. They have vending machines for snacks, drinks, bread....etc. with vey reasonable price. This is a plus when traveling with little kids. The only thing I don't like is that I can smell smoking from the AC sometimes even it's an non-smoking room. I guess if someone smokes outside, then the air will be pumped to the room. Having said that, I still recommend this cozy hotel to everyone.
