Did you find this review summary helpful?
I stayed in Fukuoka for 4 nights and 5 days while traveling solo and compared two places: Nine Hours and Stand by Me. Each had its pros and cons (I thought Nine Hours would be better since it was a bit more expensive, but that wasn't necessarily the case). Summary is below. ☆Nine Hours☆ - The entire floor is a locker room and shower area; I never had to wait during my stay. - Separate facilities for men and women, making it comfortable to walk around in the evening. - The lounge on the 9th floor is neat. - Daily towel service of three towels, toothbrush, and sleepwear provided (slippers are only available upon check-in). - Very quiet. The lounge and bedroom floors have a tranquil atmosphere, not a lively one. Three positives: 1. Clean and well-organized facility. 2. Quiet environment. 3. Good privacy with separate floors for men and women. Drawbacks: - Check-in takes a long time. I went right at 3 PM when many people were checking in, and since it's done through a kiosk rather than staff, it took longer. Payments must be made with a card or a Kakao Pay (+ if you can't receive QR messages by email or text like me, you'll need to call for staff assistance). - There’s no fridge for food storage since many people use it. - The basic honeycomb structure means if someone snores, it’s audible. Even if I was in a different room, I could hear it. ☆Stand by Me☆ I'll mention the drawbacks first: - The host's responsiveness is very poor. I anticipated this based on reviews, but I didn’t receive the access code or room number until check-in day. I sent messages but got no response. Agoda messages are never checked. Fortunately, a Korean guest helped me (according to other guests, it’s better to contact through LINE for the access code or inquiries). - The check-in time is at 7 PM, which was not a concern for me since I had an evening flight. - There are only two showers. It might be difficult to wash up if many people are using them. - Since it's mixed-gender, you can't walk around in casual attire (as a woman). - You can't avoid hearing snoring here either. Positives: - The mattress was more comfortable than at Nine Hours, and there was significantly more space in the bedroom. Even the blanket was larger and nicer. - Two towels and slippers provided. - The bathroom has cotton swabs, cotton pads, and tissues (Nine Hours only has tissues). - There’s a fridge, so you can store food (write your name on it). - There’s a lounge area on the floor below the bedrooms, where I really felt the hostel atmosphere, enjoying drinks and having fun with other solo travelers (this might be a drawback for some). Overall (summary): I don’t know about other places, but when comparing these two, if you prefer a bustling, hostel-like atmosphere, Stand by Me is good. If you want a quiet, modern feel with easy access to the city, Nine Hours would be a better choice.

Clean, close to railway. Beds comfy, washing facilities, shower and toilet really good. Free very large lockers, all facilities accessable by key card. Booking in is a little confusing as all touch screen, you will need you booking reference number, usually someone around to help
Thank you for choosing nine hours Hakata Station. We are very happy to hear that you were satisfied with your stay. Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again at nine hours Hakata Station.
I had a comfortable stay here during my first night in Fukuoka. I only stayed for a night since I have to leave early for an express train. Great location - just walking distance from Hakata Station, there's a Lawson nearby, and some restaurants too. There's self-service check in and everything is already prepared. Locker has enough space for my luggage and bags. Locker and Shower rooms are located on different floors from the Sleeping area. Lobby was super quiet which an introvert like me enjoys. Bed was comfortable and has USB ports for charging. I had a good sleep but watch out for sound of snoring from other beds.
Thank you for choosing nine hours Hakata Station. We are very happy to hear that you were satisfied with your stay. Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again at nine hours Hakata Station.
Since I was going alone, I considered cost-effectiveness very important. The good points were that it was quiet, cozier than I expected, and had a private space. Above all, I liked that the locker and shower areas were well separated. Since it was my first time, I left the card key in the locker and locked it, and the door wouldn't open, so I had to move around with the staff, which was a bit annoying for them, but they kindly attended to me step by step. The amenities were also great, as they provided a separate bag for them, and when I accidentally threw away the slippers and asked for them again, they gave me more! The location is also good; it takes only about 10 minutes to walk to Canal City, and since I didn't want to deal with the subway, I walked to Tenjin, which took about 20 minutes, but it was nice because it was close. The downside...? was that moving around the hotel was a bit inconvenient since I had to go down to the first floor through the lobby (which is on the 8th floor), so it was a bit bothersome to move frequently. However, aside from that, the common areas were clean and had a comfortable atmosphere, which I really liked. I think I used the place well during my 3 nights and 4 days! If I go to Fukuoka alone again, I would likely use it again!

“Services way better than the money I paid”
The experience there was impressive. I had a very convenient and relaxing time. To be honest the price set that 9 hours sets is every exceptional. It is way more affordable than any other facilities besides towels, tooth brushes and loungewear are provided. The hotel prepared affluent number of shower rooms and mirrors where we can dry hair or brush teeth. I hadn’t had any experience with visiting capsule before but I just gave it shot. The huge spacious locker on a different level allowed me to store almost everything and only I have to do is to carry phones and wallet in my capsule, which made it easier for me to keep my room tidy and organized. The only hitch I spot is long cue in checking in line. Probably 1-3 people would have some errors checking in. If you check in right at 3pm, there should be some stuff working in front of the door cleaning or organizing the front. People need to “ call the staff “button to receive the baggage you left before check-in. There is no visible reception in the facility. You always need to fiddle around with reception machine when you want to talk to staff. That’s still acceptable given the exceptional price set.
