Hello guys Parveen here. I would like to share my experience with nine place hotel. Rooms are spotless and huge. Staff behaviour is cooperative. They gave best service to me. But location is difficult to find out. Nearby no Restaurant. Over all good experience.
Another long stay at Nine Place ”
I have made Nine Place my base of operations in Bangkok for several years , because it is safe, quiet, and clean. It is a very short hop to Sukhumvit (BTS and malls) for 40 baht via cab, but the area is not full of tourists like Sukhumvit. There are 7/11s, restaurants, and cafes in within a block's walk or so. There is a new area full of food stalls right across the street, if you like street food. You can also do your own laundry. For the price, Nine Place can't be beat. I want to say a special word for the staff, who are always kind, helpful, and efficient. Note to late arrivers: The front desk closes late in the evening, but call one of the phone numbers on the doors, and the staff (who are on-site) will admit you.
Thank you kha
Close to 7-11 (lumpinee Condominium)opposite around 300 m.”
Price is very cheap and have private bathrooms and inside Bangkok city but walking to bts far if you don’t mind “Here is good choice “ Get free drinking water but the bathroom when I stayed cannot use that
Value, Location, Staff”
I have completed yet another long stay at Nine Place and I keep coming back because it meets my needs, especially for security. For me, the location is fine; the BTS and the Gateway mall are within easy walking distance, and if you want to hail a cab it's even easier and only 35 or 40 baht. There is also now a new street food complex just across the street and a new 7-11 convenience store, too. I also like the staff a lot; they have no English, but gestures and a Thai-English dictionary do the trick because they're very kind. I will stay again!
Thank you and you are always most welcome!
3 night stopover ”
I stayed previously and although I didn’t get the room I requested, anther room was provided which was also comfortable
I WOULD RETURN ”
I stipulated time of arrival whilst booking. The room was not ready but with no hesitation they gave me an alternative room and brought me eggs, toast and coffee. My booked room was available within the hour. Since my last visit, there were noticeable improvements in decorations, new stair carpet and cleanliness. I will return on my next BKK visit for sure. There is a noticeable improvement in care and and guest comfort. I would like the hotel to have credit card facilities to make payments OR re-install the payment facility - i.e. pay online! A wonderful 3 nights, Thank you!
I was traveling to Bangkok to attend a lecture at Bangkok University and this place fit the bill with proximity to the campus along with price. They do have a strict policy about inviting others in which made me safer being there.
I like it
Price, Location, Staff”
I've reviewed Nine Place before and I keep coming back because it meets all my requirements (which do not include a mint on the pillow, but do include quiet, security, and economy). The staff is willing and kind, though not English-speaking (pantomime and device translations work). My superior room is very nice; big, with a splended tiled bathroom. Nine Place should not be hard to find. Tell the cab driver "Sukhumvit 40" (soo-kum-wit see-sip). Near "BTS Ekkamai." Sukhumvit 40 is one way; go straight to the end. You will see signs to Nine Place on your left. If you miss the signs, you will arrive at the first set of lights, on Rama 4. Take a left. Take your immediate first left. The office is up the street on your right. Read the signage for after-hours check-in.
Thank you Kha
Good, but may not have 24 hour check in”
There is a trend that some budget hotels in Thailand do not seem to have 24 hour check. Agoda may wish to make note of this. Other than that, the place was good. Bed was good. There was a TV. Internet was fast enough. I liked 9 Place on Sukhimvit Soi 40 and would stay there again.
Thank you we will improve asap
Value for money, clean, safe, and quiet ”
I'm a solo traveller long-stay and I keep coming back to Nine Place because it meets my needs: A price that can't be beat, cleanliness, safety, quiet. I got a Superior Room, which is very nice, with wood floors and furnishings, and a big tile shower. the mattress is firm but not too hard. Aircon, hot water, power are all fine. There are plenty of plugs. WiFi is OK. I like the location. Gateway Ekkamai mall, 7/11, restaurants, cafes all an easy walk. Also, the soi is a quiet street, with small businesses, and a food cart, and Aunties. (Nine Place is really not hard to find, even for Bangkok taxi drivers. Go to Ekkamai. Go to Sukhumvit Soi 40. (40 = "see sip.") Go to the first set of lights on Soi 40, which is Rama 4. Take a left. Take your FIRST left, and you will see the Nine Place sign ahead and the main office on your right. After 10PM, the front desk closes. Take your SECOND left, and a sign with the night bell is on your right. Ring the bell and the staff will come.)
Thank you very much
Wow!!! Amazing 😍😍😍”
Big room, clean. The bed and couch were like brand new. Soooooo thick and soft. Huge bathroom. Ice cold digital AC. Had a tv and microplush towels.. the refrigerator was in the closet, pretty cool. Oh amd none of the power control on your keycard crap. I let my ac rum while i was gone to come back to ice cold room :) wonderful. 5stars from me
Thank you, you are most welcome!
Price, Location, Room Quality”
I stayed in one of the newly-built Superior Rooms, and the room really was superior to the rooms in the older buildings, which though cheaper are smaller with older fixtures. The internet is much faster, too. Lovely wood floors, excellent big tiled shower with plenty of hot water, air conditioning strong, plenty of plugs, quiet. I also like the staff, who are very kind. They have no English, but pantomime and a Thai dictionary in my cellphone are enough to communicate. Two coffee shops on the hotel's street, 7/11s and ATMs near by, within easy walking distance to BTS Ekkamai and the Gateway Mall, which has drug stores, office supplies, banks, and consumer electronics like phones, and an Apple store. Street food is near, and there's a whole restaurant area over by Bangkok University. Close enough to Sukhumvit for convenience, but far enough away for quiet and not too many tourists! Also, meter taxis are easy to catch on Rama IV, and you have a straight shot to the airport. I will certainly stay again!
Thank you are you very much we are really appreciated your choice to stay with us and most welcome back anytime
Clean, quiet, good security, price is right”
Nine Place is a budget hotel, but I think it's also an undiscovered gem. It's a small place in a quiet working class neighborhood close enough to Sukhumvit for convenience, but far away enough to make you feel you're really in Thailand. The rooms are small, but clean, the security is very good, the WiFi is fine, and for the price, it can't be beat. For a long stay, the washing machines are a big plus. And you've got a straight shot to the highway and BKK if you only want to stay one night. Taxis are very easy to get on Rama IV. The staff is extremely kind and always willing to help. They don't speak much English, but that's par for the course in Thailand. (There are written sheets with typical questions in English at the front desk, so you can point. Or Pantomime. Or use your cellphone's translator.) There is street food across the street at Bangkok University (though I haven't eaten there). However, there's a family restaurant within ten minutes that's better than anything in Thong Lo or Ekkamai, and half the price. WARNING: It's real Thai food, not tourist Thai food! 1. Leave from the front office, take a left down the soi to Rama IV Road. 2. Take a left on Rama IV road, walk to the first set of lights. 3. Cross Rama IV (two lanes). You will see R&B Karaoke on the corner to your right, a police box to your left. 4. You are now on Kluai Nam Thai Road. Keep walking past a coffee shop, a dry cleaning place, a machine shop, some food carts... 5. Keep looking right and you'll see a restaurant with tables inside and tables outside, and a red sign saying "72" and some Thai. This is it. 6. If you come to the gate of the Bangkok University (on your right), you've gone too far. Turn back, and the restaurant is immediately on your left. 7. There's no English on the menu, which is a good sign. Order by the pictures. Anything with red in the picture is going to be hot. The fish (steamed and fried) has always been excellent. Ask for rice (gao), ask for water (naam).
Thank you and we will improve more
Price, location, staff”
If you want a room for a night to leave for the airport in the morning, it's hard to beat Nine Place for price and location -- near a freeway on the way to BKK. (If you're coming in between 10:30PM and 9:00AM, be sure to pay attention to the signs on the doors that explain how to rouse the staff to let you in.) For me, as a long-term guest, price, security, quiet, and WiFi are all important. (The WiFi was improved with new routers while I was there.) The facilities are Spartan, but clean. The washing machines are a bonus. Nine Place is located on a quiet soi (alley) off Rama IV, about 10 minutes walking from Sukhumvit (BTS Ekkamai). If you don't want to walk, a cab to Ekkamai is 35 baht (one dollar). Cabs are easy to flag down on Rama IV. Rama IV also gives you a straight shot to central Bangkok via cab and bus. There is good Thai street food in the area, as well as an Internet cafe (corner of Soi 40), dry cleaning, 7-11, ATMs, a pharmacy, a beer garden, etc. Gateway Ekkamai, near the BTS, is a pretty good mall with a lot of food options (and some banks). The staff are Thai-speaking, but have a great attitude and are VERY willing to help; I found a few English words and gestures sufficient to call a cab, get change for the washing machine, get a new bar of soap, etc. All in all, a great place, especially for the price; I wouldn't keep staying at Nine Place if I didn't enjoy it!
A pleasant stay at Nine Place”
I'm an experienced solo traveler and I've been a long-stay guest at Nine Place for several seasons now, so as you can see I like it; it's a budget hotel (no mint on the pillow, no robe) that meets my needs: It's quiet, safe, has fine WiFi, and the price is right. I also like the location, which is about a ten minute walk to Ekkamai BTS (and quite safe at night; Ekkamai soi 40 and Rama IV road are both major arteries). It's also a good jumping off place for an expressway to the airport. Because Nine Place is a budget hotel, the staff probably will speak Thai only. However, they'll be familiar with normal problems, like calling a taxi, where to eat, or change for the laundry. There is also signage that documents the wifi, local restaurants, and transportation. A simple list of Thai phrases would take care of almost everything else. As everywhere in Thailand, courtesy and patience go a long way! (The front desk is not 24/7, but you can make a special request for late arrival through Agoda. There is also useful signage on the front door that gives numbers to call to rouse the staff or owner to let you in.)
Once again, a great value”
I'm a long-term, long-stay visitor at Nine Place, so I appreciate a clean, quiet room, the quality of the WiFi, plus the excellent security, and things like lots of hot water and working aircon. The area is also quite safe and not full of tourists or backpackers. The location is a little bit out of the way, but a fifteen minute walk -- or a cheap motorcycle ride, brings you either to the many superb eating options at Sukhumvit 38 and 55, or to the bustle (and the 24-hour supermarket) of Ekkamai (and the BTS stops at both places). Via the bus system, Nine Place is also within easy striking distance of Silom, and the downtown malls. No mint on the pillow, but as a solo traveler, and experienced and adventurous visitor to Bangkok, I couldn't ask for better! Very pleased, as always.
My third time at Nine Place, great value for money”
I am an experienced solo traveller who doesn't care about getting a mint on my pillow or a fluffy bathrobe. This time, I stayed at Nine Place for three months and was very happy. I like Nine Place because the price is right, the security is excellent, the Internet connection is good, and the location is excellent. The washing machine is a bonus. (The hotel is also used for long stays by students at Bangkok University, so it's quiet, which is also very important to me. This is not Khao San road, fully of noisy backpackers and parties.) I like the location because it's on a quiet street that gives a good feeling of what Bangkok is like for residents (not tourists). The hotel is right on Rama IV, which if you've mastered the bus system (there's a map in the office) takes you to Silom, or to the MRT (the subway system). The hotel is also about 15 minutes walking time from Ekkamai, the BTS Skytrain station, and also the location of the Eastern Bus Terminal that goes to Pattaya, for example. Even better, the hotel is about a 15 minute walk from foodie heaven at Thong Lor on Sukhumvit (but if you stay in Thong Lo you'll probably spend a lot more money). Finally, for those who want to sit at their laptops with coffee, there's a new coffee shop on the corner of Rama IV and Soi 42, about 5 minutes away. The place is called Ma Maison, the coffee is excellent, as are the pastries, and the staff is kind and attentive even by Thai standards! On mechanics: Air con is great, hot water is great, the place is clean, the WiFi is fine. The staff has not spoken English well in all the times I've been there, but they have a good attitude, so everything works out. If I had to pick one adjective for Nine Place, it would be "utilitarian." But that meets my needs exactly!
This is my second extended stay at Nine Place and I remain a fan. 1. I like the location. It's near Ekkamai, the Eastern Bus Station, and I needed to travel to Sattahip. It's near Thong Lo, which is a very trendy district with a lot of great street food and many shops. It's within an easy taxi ride of the ferry to Phra Pradaeng, Bangkok's "Green Lung," which is a beautiful and supercheap day trip. It's also right across from Bangkok University which is a great place to hang out, and also eat cheap good food. And I'm intrepid enough to have started mastering the bus system; at non-rush-hour times, it's just as fast and much cheaper to get to Silom with the bus than with the SkyTrain, and you see a lot more of Bangkok. And if you do want Siam Paragon, Nana, Chatuchak, etc., the Skytrain takes you there. 2. I like the staff. For the price, I don't have the expectation that everybody will speak English, and if I want everybody to speak English to me, I might as well not travel at all. In some ways, it's a little bit more like a B&B than a hotel, and to me that's a good thing. For example, there's a washer but no dryer. It's the tropics! So you hang your clothes on a clothes rack and dry them in the sun. I did this, and came back later to find that the staff had rehung my clothes for me, much more neatly than I had! 3. The room is small but I don't need or want a suite. The shower is great, has plenty of hot water (once I mastered the faucet position). The air con works fine. I slept well, so the bed is fine and it's quiet. The fixtures are new and everything is clean. Overall, if you love Thailand, you'll love Nine Place.
Addendum on Niine Place”
Just adding a little to the review I already wrote: 1. Nine Place is expanding to a second branch across the same soi. Looks much the same (clean and new) but also with a courtyard. 2, Again on the location: As soon as I figured out the street food I wanted to buy and eat on the way, I came to enjoy the walk to Ekkamai BTS. And the flip side of not being right off Sukhumvit is quiet and complete safety. 3. And finally, if you can roll with the staff not having English, they really couldn't have been kinder or more flexible. And with the Internet, who really needs a concierge anyhow?
