Fantastic and most accommodating ”
My husband and I are budget travelers and we found Scott and his wife’s Homestay one of the best accommodations we have stayed at yet. The bed and room was very clean, the AC worked, the breakfast that is included with the room was actually very tasty and they both go out of their way to help you figure out the best sights to see based on your interests. We originally booked two nights and extended last minute. They were able to not only include us in dinner (which is the best in town) , but we were allowed to stay an extra night. Additionally we rented bikes from them and Scott helped us to book our overnight bus ticket to Hue and when we changed our minds to the train he was able to get some of our money back and book the tickets. Incredible place to stay! Both hospitality, location, and cleanliness. Would highly recommend.

The best stay we had so far ”
Owner and his family are extremely friendly, food on property is delicious, specially pancakes for breakfast. The owner offers motorbike and bike rent and he also gave us tips on what to see. We booked a double room with shared bathroom and for our last night, he upgraded us to a bungalow which was a nice touch.

The hosts are so helpful and the home cooked dinners (additional cost) were fantastic! The breakfast was included and it was plentiful. The budget room (part of the original home) smelt quite strongly of mould, but all the other amenities were extremely clean and tidy. There are new bungalows (slightly higher cost) which are probably an better option. Highly recommend. Very safe area.

Very comfortable and clean rooms. Let us check in at 5am when our bus arrived. Nice staff, good breakfast, except for last morning when we weren't asked what we wanted and just got given cold pancakes by a very rude women who wasn't the owner. Dissapointing. Otherwise nice. Need to hire bike, very far from anything.

Nice place to chill, away from the city. They have independent bungalows and rooms with common bath which we took. Scott and his family are good hosts. The only place close to this is the pagoda which can be seen from home stay. There is a bus to ninh binh township from main rd for 20k vnd

Good but not great”
Pros - Scott was great, very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Good location to get to a lot of the local sights, though you still need to use a scooter or car. Free bikes to use with child seats on the back. Cons - didn’t feel particularly welcome by some of the ladies who were not especially friendly/bordering on rude. There was significant building work going on when we arrived, which we were not made aware of. Food was ok but not a huge choice especially for vegetarians

Perfect hospitality in beautiful surroundings”
Our stay at the Ninh Binh Family Homestay was perfect. The homestay is in a small village just minutes from the Bai Dinh pagoda. The property itself is incredible with dense foliage and trees everywhere as well as gardens and farms. Our room was immaculate upon arrival with plenty of towels and hot water. Bottled water was in the room waiting for us. There is also a refrigerator in the breakfast area where you can purchase cold water, beer, and sodas for a VERY reasonable price. I would definitely recommend taking them up on breakfast and dinner. It's very inexpensive and the dinners in particular are amazing. Home-cooked, delicious, and VERY plentiful. We ate at the homestay every single night. The spring rolls are some of the best I've ever had and the stuffed tofu was delicious. They have scooters available to rent which is great as the village is close to Tam Coc, Trang An, and host of other places. Would definitely stay here again!

Cosy clean and kind”
Nguyen family has a beautiful 80 year old family property. Yes it's 18 to 20 km more inland from Tam Coc which makes it tougher going to the city center but you didn't come here for the city life! Nguyen family homestay is located in the heart of Nihn Bihn City, far from the noise and near all the cool outdoor things to do in Nihn Bihn. We opted for this experience because of its location. The rice paddy boat ride in Trang An, Tam Coc isnt even in season yet so the beauty rice paddys boat ride in tam coc is a disappointment. There are plenty of deep cave attractions the are accessible by boat, just ask the owner at the homestay and they will help you out. You can also rent motorbikes from the homestay for cheap. Clean facilities, and great food cooked by the wife. She doesnt have a full menu so join in for her 6pm dinner. She also serves Vietnamese pancakes and fried eggs for breakfast. Stay here, you won't regret it!

we stayed 3 nights at ninh binh family home stay and did not regret booking it. the pickup from ninh binh worked very well and we were greeted with a warm welcome and a yummi homemade dinner. the place is located quite far away from ninh binh but very close to many attractions that you can easily reach via bike or scooter. but be aware that the village is not some kind of romantic little farmer village but rather a street with a few random shops and a gasstation. Unfortunately we have to mention the poor birds that they kept in tiny cages....This might be a common practice in vietnam but we really hated to witness this poor treatment of the animals

Nice homestay with friendly host”
The room in ninhbinh family homestay is spacious and clean! Location is a bit odd from the attractions but not a big issue if you are renting a motorbike or driver (they have free bicycles too!). The guests will usually have dinner at the homestay for $5 per pax as there are limited food stores around. Overall it's a nice and enjoyable stay!

We absolutely loved our stay with our host and his family. Scott and his wife are so kind and thoughtful, and they make amazing food! The location is great, very close to some beautiful natural attractions, and we particularly liked staying outside of the city. We rented motorbikes, had laundry done, got recommendations for things to do in the area, and were offered support any time we needed anything. We are so glad we found this home stay and we will never forget Ninh Bình!

Scott and his family are very helpful and welcoming. We spend 5 nights at their place, always had delicious breakfast in the morning and a good advice on how to plan the day to see everything that Ninh Bình has to offer. You won’t regret staying there! And if you do, always have dinner at Scott’s place, it’s the best in the neighbourhood! We had a blast staying there :)

Relaxing area with a wonderful family ”
We loved our stay so much we extended. Scott and family were very welcoming. The food was delicious and the wifi was great. Scott gave us advice on where to take the motorbike safely and we felt we were in safe hands. The room was very clean and cleaned daily. There was coffee/tea in our rooms which was a nice touch. When we were leaving the family made us a food parcel for the bus which was such a nice thing to do. We would stay here again for sure. It was very peaceful. Niamh and Tim

Clean, perfect location, great host”
My husband and our two little toddlers were so grateful to be there. The bungalow and the whole entire place were spacious and super clean. We are dinner with the family. It was soooo delish!!! Thanks Hang (host’s wife)!!!! They had free bikes for us to use a few times. Felt absolutely at home. Great location about 7 minutes to Bai Dinh Pagoda (a must see). Scott offered to take us from the airport and go Bai Dinh. Thank you. We rented his car with his brother driver (Thuan) the next day to travel around. He was super awesome!!! Trip was stressful with the kids but we were able to relaxed a bit because of Scott and his family. Thank you!!
