Really relaxing and amazing value ”
Ninila is really amazing value for money. You can easily spend entire days just going between the pool and the beach (I did) eating your way through the restaurants (both cheap and expensive) in the Ong Lang beach area. I did! I actually preferred the closest beach to Ninila (left turn out of the driveway) to Sao Beach during my stay. It was super chill, sunset over the water and far fewer people. Easy 20 min walk or borrow a bike and get there super quick. A nice escape from the busy tourist vibes of a lot of the island. The owner Sunny is an absolute sweetheart and would do anything to make your stay comfy. The pool is the best part though, would look stylish in a 5* hotel. I had a great time and really relaxing visit to Phu Quoc for a fraction of the cost of a resort (and still enjoyed a fancy meal at Mango Bay). Thanks!
Classy and relaxing”
The name of Ninila Fruit Farm Bungalows doesn't do it justice. This is a stylish place to relax in the sun; the thatched-roof accommodation is a charming cultural salute to Vietnam as is the consistently good food served in the restaurant. The driving force at Ninila is the owner, a young Vietnamese woman called Summer who understands western holiday-makers' tastes & needs. Rooms are cleaned daily, towels are replaced daily, the restaurant is open all day & prices are reasonable. Motor bikes and bicycles are available , guests can have their laundry done & get good advice on how to access Phu Quoc's attractions. So why is Ninila relaxing? The abundant hammocks and swing chairs in cool spots encourage dozing - and the deck chairs under umbrellas by the pool. Yes, by the impeccably clean, slate infinity pool. Somehow Summer manages to create a subtly relaxing atmosphere that will work on your stress levels & make you reluctant to leave Ninila Fruit Farm Bungalows.
Great stay at tranquil Ninila”
Myself and my girlfriend had a blissful stay at Ninila. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Our bungalow was beautiful, luxurious and spotless - we were upgraded for free from the more basic rooms but im in no doubt they are also to a v high standard. The pool was incredible addition to our stay - perfect place to relax after any other activities on the island. Ideally you have your own transport to get to and from here but otherwise taxis easily arranged or you can hire a motorbike from Ninila. Cant recommend this place highly enough and tremendous value when we stayed in May.
Relax - and see Phu Quoc”
Ninila is an attractive, comfortable place to have a relaxing holiday located where you can still access the sights of the island. Tucked away from the main drag among the trees of a fruit plantation, the comfy traditional-style chalets have effective ceiling fans, tea-making facilities, mosquito nets and bathrooms with tropical plants. The infinity pool is excellent for a dip, surrounded by sun beds and comfy hammocks. The restaurant is great, with a good selection of Vietnamese & western foods, and reasonably-priced drinks. It's all pulled together by the owner, a pleasant young Vietnamese woman named Summer, who can also organize your island transport & ongoing boat tickets if you want. It's apparent she understands what western clients want in a holiday & works hard to provide it.
Nice experience for the stay”
It's a bit off the town hence the lesser choices of restaurants but fret not, you could rent a motorbike at 150K per day and probably take you 25 mins to reach duong dong. The foods price in Duong Dong area is also much cheaper (Pho at 50K vs 60k ~ 80K at Ong Lang area) If your booking with Ninila does not comes with breakfast, you could just pay them 70K per day. They serve simple breakfast (eggs etc, and noodles (not pho). One thing i must highlight to the management is that, during the stay, the slice bread (or sandwich bread you may call) and cream cheese are facing supplies issue (could not have them for two days out of my three days breakfast with them). Since the toast and cream cheese are something with longer preservation possible, they could have just stack up a bit of them Everything else is just nice, set back and relax by the pool with a few of hammocks around there under the lovely sun!
little natural hide away”
Me and my friend stayed at Ninila Fruitfarm for 3 days. Since the farm is a bit off the main road, getting there can be difficult. Be careful if you go by motorbike because the street is very muddy and we got stuck with the bike quite a few times. We however were told that the road will be done in the next year. The host Summer is very welcoming and friendly and we had a lot of fun on saturday singing karaoke with her. When we were there, a swimming pool was being built so there was construction work going on from the early morning. However, we got free breakfast and motorbikes for having the construction work inconvenience. We were told that the pool will be finished in November 2014. I hope that they do something about the garden too. Now it's only an area under constrution. The farm is not located at the beach, you have to go by motorbike, which takes approximately 10 min. Mango Bay is close by (try the food there, it is very delicious). One thing you should know before going there: Due to the strawroofs of the bungalows and because it is situated in a rural area, there are rats in the roofs of the bungalows (at least in our one). They can get very noisy but the owner gave me another bungalow, where I couldn't see any rats. Summer said it is normal and that you cannot really do that much against them (except for spraying anti-parasite spray). So if you are ok with that, you should definitely come and you will enjoy your stay.
We actually were upgraded to stay at Ninila Casa, which is the new place next door. It was incredible and we spent an awesome time there. Rooms are spacious, nicely designed, clean, etc. Location is very good, just about 10 minutes to the beach and even less to some restaurants and stores but we would still recomend renting a scooter. Breakfast is good, staff is nice, cool pool and facilities.
Ninila is a special place. I would sit in the pool on hot nights watching bats sweep about the surface in beautiful moonlight. Thi is very kind and helpful and she makes your stay special. I can't wait to return. Bring on the fast ferry from Kampot.
Good but could be better”
The breakfast menu is limited and is constant. It feels boring to eat the same food everyday of our 5 day stay. The bed spreads needs to be changed often as they changed it just once during our 5 day stay. The resorts staffs are helpful and cheerful though I had earlier read reviews about the main manager summer to be very good . I would rather prefer the other staffs in the resort. I found Summer to be non approachable. Others were really good. Location wise it’s a good deal and overall it was a good stay .
This place was a dream! Stayed for 6 days and were sad to leave. The bungalows great- clean and comfortable. The entire place is beautiful. Great pool, friendly and helpful staff, and next to our favorite beach on the island. If you rent a scooter it's a nice ride to the market and other parts of the island. We liked being on the quieter side, away from the main tourist area. Highly recommend!
Good standard for a good price. The pool looks like something from a luxury hotel. Breakfast was ok, and dinner for a cheap price. Superb beach 20-25 min walk from here, but we didn’t mind. Feels good to have a walk when you’re just about to lay on the beach for a whole day. - The scooter rental didn’t work well for us at all, since the scooter broke down and when we got offered another scooter it was almost out of fuel so we said no Thanks and endes up not paying for the rental. Overall a good stay.
Staff and breakfast have to improve”
When we arrived we had a WOW moment because the property is really beautiful with a gorgeous pool and nice looking bungalows. But this changed quickly. The eco-guesthouse has bungalows, most of them with an open roof. When we arrived, the lady that runs the place showed us very quickly our place to stay. Already in the first minute we heard something scratching the roof. Later that evening when we entered the room, we saw a lot of mice poo on one of the beds. After showing it to the lady, her first reaction was: oh! that is just from gecko's. After we said that we know that this is mice poo, she immediately had a whole different story of a mice problem in the whole guesthouse because of the coco leaves etc. and that this is a eco-friendly guesthouse and therefore normal that there are mice and according to her we should not bother about it because we would be sleeping under a mosquito net. We totally understand that and we were not looking for a spotless 5 star hotel, but when we told her that she had to tell us before we checked-in (that there is a mice problem) she showed no understanding at all and had a really bad attitude for a manager of a hotel. Instead, she gave us the feeling that she was losing money because we moved to the only other rooms without mice: the SPA room. All this has really put a shadow over our WOW moment. After moving to the SPA room we slept on massage beds for one week (which we agreed on and was fine) But...we had NO cleaning the whole week of the toilet and bathroom. The bedlinnen is NOT changed the whole week. The only thing they did is fold up the blanket and give us new towels. There was no compensation, not even a free drink or anything because of the inconvenience we got from all of this, sleeping in a room which is not a room for guest to sleep in. For us, a small gesture would have been enough. The breakfast is really bad and way to expensive. You can get better breakfast (and lunch and dinner) for better prices and
Quiet relaxing stay surrounded by nature”
Nice bungalows, perfect pool and relaxing area. Breakfast was ok, they have a menu with one vegan option, which we then had everyday ;) 10 - 15 minutes walk to the beach for a swim or a sun bath, definitely the best beach on the island to do that: calm, clean, free access until now.
Amazing place to stay.. Very chilled.”
Fantastic fruit farm in the beautiful northwest of the island.. Summer and her team make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible.. Very close to 2 beautiful beaches.. And a lovely pool to cool off if You get hot. Pictures do not do the place justice
Cute bungalows decent location ”
Stayed here 3 nights. Booked a bamboo bungalow but after checking in we decided to ask for a bungalow with air conditioning. These were only $2 more a night and were much nicer... less buggy as well. The pool was very nice and free bikes are available if no one else is using them. We also were able to rent a motorbike each day and explored the whole island. The beach near this accommodation is about a 20 min walk and to be honest, the dirtiest. If you rent a motorbike you can explore much nicer beaches. The small town near the beach was great for drinks and restaurants. Not too crowded with lots of selection. What we like to call point and grill food :).
Perfect place for relaxing ”
This place is perfect for a few days of relaxation! Breakfast is amazing and if the first plate isn't enough you can get another one. The pool is the best! Temperature is perfect and it is not to busy or crowded so a nice spot to chill out during the day. They have free bicycles you can use, but not too many of them, so you might have to share or walk some days. By walking there are 2 nice beaches only 20 minutes away and the "main" street in the area is only a 10 minute walk away, with plenty of restaurants. They also have a restaurant at the hotel, it's pretty cheap and the dishes we ordered was good. We stayed in a double bungalow and the space was great. Had a great time here!
Rustic and adventurous”
The poolarea and the restaurant is the best with Ninila. Because of the cows there are many flys and the open bungalows invite mosquitos, ants, frogs and lizard to share the room. It is also long to the sea.
Needs to try harder”
We had paid in advance for five nights accommodation but were seriously tempted to move out after one night. Ninila is too isolated down a rough muddy road. It is a good twenty minutes walk to another restaurant and twenty five minutes to the beach. You are forced to hire motorcycles (they are no longer free) or rely on taxis. Staff were initially unhelpful and unfriendly but did improve after a couple of days. Lots of minor problems with the bungalows e.g. broken lights, curtain poles that fell down when you drew the curtains, door lock repeatedly getting stuck, stained towels and sheets etc. Needs better management and attention to detail. If you accept the limitations of the place and are happy using a motorcycle then the property is a decent place to stay for the money but it could be so much better!
Peaceful and rural retreat”
This is a unique hot l that has a great deal of charm. As a solo traveller I found it a littlenoff th beaten track. They very kindly provid free bicycles but at night the lane to it has no street light nor has the bike which make s for a tense ride home in the dark. The reception staff were very helpful but I found the service at th restaurant bar pretty poor. Their cocktails were hotel prices and I could honestly not taste the gin in my gin and tonic. It looked as if the young lady was free pouring but it was hard to know as she placed the glass behind the counter top. I would recommend this hotel for a peaceful visit but I wasn't as wowed as some oth r reviewers.
Amazing stay! Love this place”
Swimming pool was lovely- food great- rooms were very clean and comfortable - Summer, the host, was incredibly helpful and kind and fun to be around- she even upgraded our room for free cause we were on honeymoon! Only slight downfall is its far from downtown/long beach which required us to get taxis which added up- if you get a motorbike, wouldn't be a problem :)
