    Amazing place exactly as described!”
Very central and surprisingly quiet! The staff a very helpful and extremely polite. Close to markets, lots of good restaurants. comfortable beds and all other amenities are perfect. The wifi could be a bit faster but that was the least of my worries. I would 100% reccomend to anyone!!

Great staff, very helpful, very good food, stayed 12 nights and ate there most times, sadly , not many people seem to eat evenings there and they miss out. Nice garden area for drinks eating or a chat.

    inconsistent quality”
food and drink quality varied greatly, half the things weren't available over a week, low level lighting made it feel dingy. Next to a school with no walls, so very very noisy till about 3pm. they NEVER answer their phone. there is no way to contact them, except an email through agoda.

    I LOVE Nirvana Garden Hotel”
    Service, Lovely Garden, Atmosphere
I have stayed at Nirvana Garden Hotel 4 times now. The Nepali ambiance is so enjoyable. I will stay there again. I feel at home here. The staff are courteous, kind and friendly. No, this is not a 5-star hotel but it is a relaxing place to stay; to enjoy eating delicious meals or just kicking back in the lovely garden, away from the hustle and bustle of tourists on the main street is great. The main street and tourist attractions are a very short walk away so one can experience the best of both worlds!

A lovely hotel. Very quiet pretty garden attached.”
    Garden, Balocny and staff
Lovely time at this hotel. The pretty garden was great to relax in. A very short walk would take you into downtown Thamel. The local restaurants served good food, loads of great places to spend on local pretty artifacts!

A Haven of Peace Amikdst the Hustle and Bustle”
    Friendly staff, central location, garden
I was staying at the hotel with my sister and her husband and we were very pleased with our choice. The reception area is warm and inviting as are the staff. We had rooms with balconies overlooking the garden and we recommend these if they are available at the time. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The garden is a great asset. We were there at Diwali and the garden was enchanting, lit up with hundreds of lights. The hotel's location is excellent, situated in walking distance from Durbar Square and surrounded by good-value shops. We felt though that the food was below standard and ate in the next-door hotel. I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel near the old town section of Kathmandu”
    Garden, staff and location
This was our first visit to Kathmandu. We stayed in the old section of the city known as Thamel. We chose this hotel because it boasted 24 hour hot water, which is important in Kathmandu where there are scheduled revolving power outages. Nirvana Hotel did not disappoint, plus it had a wonder garden for dining and just hanging out in the quiet away from the busy world outside. I think this is probably the best hotel in Kathmandu.

Nice location in Thamel, nice garden”
    Location, garden
we stayed in january and the hotel lacked hot water for a shower in the morning (which is a problem with alot of the hotels in thamel in january) and the cold kind of negated the nice garden. when we were here before in past novembers the garden was great and the water hot. the staff was helpful.

    Very good location in Thamel.”
    Quiet, helpful staff, nice rooms
Nice and quiet with the garden surrounding the hotel. The horribly polluted air of Kathmandu was hardly recognizible around the hotel at the end of the dead end street. The kitchen staff was underdimensioned so one evening we had to wait 1,5 hour for our food.

Great hotel that will actually surprise you”
Electricity always available, room is super clean
The hotel is amazingly clean with electricity aleays available. They gave us a small heater that kept our room worm throughout our stay and they clean the room daily. Hot water is always available and the location of the hotel is just perfect where you can walk 20 meters to be in the heart of Tamel however you are away from the crowed (very good sound isolation). There food is very good qnd super cheap. Would absolutely recommend it to all.

Garden Restaurant is fantastic, great food, clean comfortable rooms
We booked this hotel based on other reviews we had read and have not been let down. The service is fantastic. After our initial stay we decided to use this hotel as our base to return to in between our different destinations in Nepal and Tibet and have not been let down. The restaurant has great food and is reasonably priced with friendly waiters. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to any one.

great location but dark small room”
    the garden
Nirvana Garden Hotel's location is fantastic - walking distance to thamel and yet away from all that noise. The garden is lovely and quiet. Good place to sit and read a book for an hour or two. The rooms are a little small and the toilet is very dark when there is an outage. The beds and the blankets and the towels were clean and soft. The hotel feels old and tired. The hotel staff is not very friendly or helpful. Generaaly we did enjoy our stay.

    good location
I stayed for 4days/3nights in room 108 facing the garden. I called the hotel nd i had a airport pick-up! The location of teh hotel is great. It's just a step away from the center of the action! This means you can enjoy the fun and leave the noise at bay when u need to sleep. The room is old and when i booked it said that it's an AC room but there was no AC although AC was not needed that time. The room fixtures are dilapidated- the TV is antique, the remote control is not working well, the shirt hangers are ridiculous folded wire, the water takes 15 mins to get warm(so u need to waste a lot of water), dress cabinet is dirty with newspaper as a surfrace cover, several times i need to ask why the net is not working...huh! i cant stop writing bad about this room(hotel)...only the location is good I did not had the chance to eat in the hotel.

    Average hotel”
    Location, staff attitude, garden
I think the hotel needs a little fixer-upper, mainly the rooms (bath/toilet needs repair, shower holder is broken and tub is stained, lights too dim); TV reception was bad as well as the wifi signal. Breakfast was so-so. Will not recommend for long stay esp. for those traveling on business and need to work at night.

    Average hotel”
    Location, staff attitude, garden
A stay of maximum 2 nights would be fine but longer would be a pain. Rooms need some repair particularly the toilet/bathroom. TV reception is bad, as well as wifi signal. Breakfast choices are the same day in and day out, tough for long-staying guests. But location is great, and all staff are kind and helpful
