Beware got send to another hotel”
When I arrived at the NkS I was greeted with ignoring despite me smiling. After a while the reception lady asked me what I wanted in an extremely annoyed and rude way. She then proceeded to tell me that my booking wad with their other hotel, I told her that I made a booking with NKS and not the hotel Sri Emas she told me it was the same. I think they should inform you on the page or at least by mail. I made my way to the other hotel and there at least I was treated nice. The room was alright for one night.

Cheap place to stay, ”
location, price
Cheap place to stay in Jeranut, in town and close to the train. Nothing in the town to see, gateway to Taman Negara only.

Confusing check in, bare minimum room”
Breakfast, pick up point of the Taman Negara tour.
We arrived around 9pm but there was no one there to check us in even though the hostel door was left opened and we could walked up to the rooms. Fortunately we were helped out by the friendly grocery shop owner next door who pointed us to walk across the road to Hotel Sri Emas (it's joint hotel as it turned out). We were then checked into Hotel Sri Emas but not NKS hostel. The hotel was old, room below average, but we were just there for one night before we joined the Taman Negara tour the next day. The next day, we had to go back to NKS Hostel for the breakfast, which was just toast, margarine, jam and scrabbled eggs. We were very happy to get that as we were sick of having oily Malaysian fried noodle for breakfast by then.

good location, basic features, very helpful staff”
Price was quite good, breakfast included, fan or ac options in rooms
pros are listed above...i'll add that it was near vacant when i was there so very quiet. one of the workers met me at the bus station, took me around the town and drove me back to the hostel - very gracious and helpful. was ready to offer helpful tips, where i could get this or that, transportation advice and schedules, etc...wonderful man, good host to his city. cons: it is true that the towels are near transparent...but as with any much backpacker travel in asia - bring a towel with you, not the end of the world i could go on about trivial things like disorganization upstairs in the so called lounge room etc...but honestly, what do you want for very low prices they offer. bottom line, the rooms were clean but dated, you had your own tp, hot and cold showers in the two shared bathrooms, breakfast (don't expect much and will be greasy) included and available at the cafe downstairs. it was a fair hostel for the price.

Hotel Basique”
Passage
