A Backpacker Hostel”

Its an urgent situation where we denied boarding and had to come back to the city for a sleep. Our previous day with other backpacker hostel was way too good. We expecting the same since the price similar. But, no towel, no lift, no slipper (since toilet n bathroom is shared basis), no soap. Not recommended. Our previous hostel is also in this area. Find it, wayyyyyyyy better with similar price!

Great location”

I stayed in a single person room with a double bed. Great location across the road from a free, City Tram stop and across from the Queen Victoria Markets. The location is great for exploring the CBD as all the main attractions are a short tram stop away. Cons: Like most hostels, the cleanliness could be improved. In my single room, the door was damaged, the carpets were dirty and there was a smell of moldy/mildew smell in the room. I would recommend the hostel for a solo traveler on a budget purely for the price/location.

Pros- 4min walk with bags from Melbourne Central station Located on the main road (Elizabeth St.) close to restaurants, 24x7 fast food, convenience stores, bus stops Multiple types of rooms and options for solo or group travelers Courteous and extremely helpful staff Cons- Bathroom and toilet cleanliness was a bit of a problem on some days considering they are shared Not the biggest problem if you are an early riser or have lived in hostels before Some rooms do not have natural sunlight and the lights inside are not enough for visibility

Stayed in a double room, which was pretty small but clean and everything you need. It was quite expensive though, and bathrooms and kitchen could definitely need more cleaning/attention - not a lot of kitchen utensils available, very old pans/pots and water pressure in female bathroom was bad. Staff has all been lovely though, very helpful and nice.

The location was great. Just that the place was really old and dated. Walls are thin but because I usually have no problems sleeping, it wasn’t too much of a problem. The 8 bedder female dorm I was in was spacious and each have their own PowerPoint. You have to use your own towels if you wish to have privacy. If not bed is comfy toilets are all good. And while communal area is really small, you just make do. The people staying there didn’t make much of a ruckus etc.

Very well located and well priced hostel”

A very well located and well priced hostel at the top end of Elizabeth Street. The twin sufficed and the room was quietly located. The bathroom and toilet facilities were good yet quite unclean but thats more the people staying and not staff related. I'd be happy to stay again.

All you need in Hostel”

Pros: location, staff, price & facilities Cons: there is some cons for this hostel but for me with price and their service i forget all. You cannot ask for everthing to be perfect as what you want. Love the hostel.

Strategic Location”

Pros: Strategic location just in front of the Queen Victoria Market stop for the free tram zone. It is also near the Dairy Food Hall for inexpensive food. Cheap local market in QVM from wednesdays-sundays. Cons: OLD BUILDING with 3 pairs of stairs to ascend and descent to get to your rooms. Not for those with a asthma or heart problems. Also despite the old man who cleans the 2 floors accomodations place tend to get dirty especially the COMMON KITCHEN. Some Boarders on long term basis tend to get noisy and inconsiderate. Kitchen wares and utensils tend to be old and inadequate for guests' use. Otherwise with the low price if only to have a safe place to stay at night and take shower this hotel is sufficient.

Nice backpacker next to Queen Victoria Market”

The hostel is located just next to a tram stop & Queen Victoria market. A lot of restaurants & supermarket nearby. Funny how they only have 30 minutes of free internet in your room, but they have a free 24 hours wifi at the lobby. It's not that bad though, i just found it a little bit strange. Staff are available 24 hours which is good. Not much to complain other than the wifi, i would recomend this place.

No aircon in rooms, was extremely hot that day (and just that day lol). My room was on the sunny side so it was pretty bad. Ended up opening the door and trying to blow the aircon in the hallways into the room with the fan. Great location, extremely convenient, but be prepared to climb quite a bit of stairs. Woe to those with massive luggage...Simple room, nice for light travelling budget stay.

Experience with E hostel ”

Staff are really very friendly and accomodating. - Facilities requires more enhancement e.g., toilet and bedroom windows and ventilation/exhaust fans. - Washing machine can be improve, paying 3 dollars to wash, I think, still soapy, clothes require to be rinse properly. - Cleanliness of the room; some travellers are out of control, making the rooms extremely messy and smelly

Budget bed with all you need & perfect location”

I enjoyed staying in this hostel twice this month, the previous time I stayed there for 6 nights and this time stayed there for 2nights. In short, the location is perfect for me, near Flinder Street Station and the Victoria Market is just cross the road (P.S: Vic. Market opens 9am to 2pm and you can get lots of cheap veges and fruits there), this hostel is on the free trains zone. The reception opens 24/7. Inside the room, there is a heater and lockers but remember bring your own lock. I stayed in 8 shared-dorm in level 1 and they have 3 floors in total . The kitchen and walk in freezer is on level 2. You can ask the reception for the big container to store all your food and keep in the freezer. For the bowls, plates, cups and cutlery, you have to ask the reception and returned it when check out is fine. The hair dryer can be borrowed in reception. If you just need a budget bed in CBD, I think this hostel provide what you need.

The floor boards creak everywhere. The person in the room next to me and below me sounded like they were walking in my room when they moved around. I had an already broken chair in my room with a sign on the wall stating it would cost me $50 if I broke it. The toilet seat in one restroom always had splashes of liquid on it and had no way to dry your hands after washing. The other toilet had no soap dispenser.

What to say about this place.. Okay well a positive is that it's right across the road from the Vic Market, so the location is fantastic. However, if you have problems with walking, you will have to hike up stairs to get to your room. Then when you get to your room, that is hilarious, the graffitti is something else, from the satanic symbols, the swear words and just random names kept us highly entertained for a good ten minutes. Then there is how freaking noisy it is. The room we had was right opposite the male bathroom, which was going all night. I've never heard of such clean men in all my life, but I was starting to think that this was the only bathroom in the whole building. And if you want a good sleep take ear plugs, people aren't very respectful when it comes to your sleep, as they are yelling to each other up and down the hallways at midnight on a Wednesday night. I would never recommend this place if you had small kids, or just anyone really. It was shady with a capital S.

Worst accommodation ever ”

First of all, I’m not very sensitive at all. I had stayed for 3 months another hostel before. I was staying at female dormitory at this hostel. There are 3 Chinese women, they talked each other with Mandarin all day unless they are sleeping. And the room was extremely stinky. I could barely breath... oh hot water always stops middle of shower. It’s ridiculous though, somebody took my food bag in the fridge wow. 제발 여기서 머무르지 마십쇼 ㅋㅋ 최악입니다.

If money is your first consideration ”

The location is good, just opposite to queen Victoria market, and the price is cheap. But the hot water for shower is disaster, there was only cold water, which I can't feel the hot water, the hot water just came oit very very small. The kitchen is also dirty that seems no one maintain it. If money is your only choice , then choose it otherwise .........
