A bit inconvenient that the shared toilet and bathroom are not on every floor. It would be cold when walk from rooms to the bathroom downstairs. They are clean. No lift. A single small basin in double room.

Instead of explaining check-in related info to us (like with breakfast or not), the staff we encountered that evening would rather ask us to fill in the whole list of form, which left us exhausted and clueless. When we finally sorted it out and made it clear we didn’t need breakfast, the staff put up a long face.....

Very clean but with design flaws”

Booked annex twin room - The room was really clean and the toilet was spacious and nice but 1. It would have been good and useful if there was a clothing hook at the back of the toilet door (really, it’s a very simple design flaw that can be fixed.) and 2. The washing machine in the room has no drying function and nobody tells you that. Solution that was given was to use the coin-operated dryer at the main hostel building. It wouldn’t have been that much of a problem if not for the fact that the annex rooms are in another building away from the main hostel building. This meant that you had to take your wet laundry and run over to the main building twice. It would have been great if the washing machine had a drying function and spare us the runs late at night, or at least have a coin-operated dryer in the annex building. For those used to harder beds, beware that you will sink into these beds.

+ Clean + Spacious (Single room with a double bed) + Shared amenities are clean and readily available + Staff are well versed in English + Coin laundry/ self serve laundry is available at level 1 on the right ~ I would not say that this is a con but more of a preference. I would say that there are more Japanese food choices (there are Western/Italian food near this hostel) if you stay near the station and most shop near the bikan are closed by 6pm so it would not make much of a difference if you stay near the bikan or not.

The hostel is located at a quiet spot. The shower room and toilets were comfortable to use.

Hip Hostel”

The place is really clean. Stylish hostel, everything is provided; shampoo, conditioner and body wash etc. What I really like is the lobby/cafe and the bookshelves on the sides. I also like the quaint style. Location wise, a good 10 - 12 mins. walk from JR Kurashiki station. A 2-minutes walk to Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. I stayed at dorm style and it was really warm and comfortable. Showers and Toilets are always clean. I availed their breakfast for 500 yen, its all worth it!

Very good accommodation”

The Hostel is very clean and the toilet facilities are fantastic. It is very worthy to top up for breakfast. The Hostel is slightly far from the station but is very near to the historical quarter. It can be quite cold outside the room as the hostel is not totally enclosed.

I'M LOVING IT”

Love it!! Cool concept, good product and services. Clean room, functional shared bathroom and great breakfast at 500yen, order the night before. Bar and restaurant serves good food at reasonable price, chill-out areas with complimentary coffee and tea is relaxing too. HIGHLY recommended.

Great restaurant and guest lounge but rather poor room...”

The restaurant offers delicious food and beverages especially the breakfast was perfect. The guest lounge and shower rooms are well-equipped. The room is however not as excellent as the other spaces because there is strange smell which never disappears...

The place is very close to the kurashiki old town area. Staff are very friendly. The only downside is that the shared shower room/lavatory is a bit far from the room. When the weather is cold, it could be freezing for going to the public bathroom. Overall, it's a very nice place to stay, highly recommended.

Very nice and helpful staff. Very stylish building design and layout. Looks pretty similar to traditional public housing in Hong Kong. Very clean bathroom. Highly recommended to order the Western breakfast, which is very delicious with just 500 Yen. I also got a bonus that I could occupy a whole shared room!! Since it was non-peak session.

Friendly hotel”

I enjoyed at Kurashiki. I took apart of green Bird. I was so happy. Because, I was solo trip. I had not chance to talk local people. Cuore was gave me it. If I go to Kurashiki, I will use this hotel again. Thank you so much.

disappointed”

It was pretty good experience, good staffs, good design and really good location. But... -No elevator -DIRTY Air condition -Bad smell A LOT of dust when we turn on the heat. Dust all on my stuffs.. and we felt very uncomfortable and allergy. Very disappinted!

great location and friendly staffs”

the hostel is located very near the scenic spots. you can spend one day strolling around that area. a bit of walking distance from Kurashiki station but it's ok. a tad noisy at night and morning when people come and go. common shared shower room is clean and comfortable. they also have a cafe and bar right below, which is convenient if you are seeking for a drink at night. Some staffs speak limited English, while a chosen few speak very fluently. room is clean and slightly spacious since there is no shower in room but there is a basin for hand wash in the room. Pleasant stay despite the noise.

A stylish guesthouse in a old town. Everything is prefect, just remember there is no lift in the guesthouse, think before you bring your junk here.

Very cute hostel”

Really great location in kurashiki. We stayed 3nights. For us it was a good point to travel to neoshima. The room was nice. Great shower , and toilet. But just 1 hanger in the room . So you dont have a place to hang the towel. The coffe in the resturant cost 500y a bit ! expensive. But its good.

The most chic hostel in Kurashiki”

It was a bit far from the Station, but i gladly took the large route to it and it was amaaaaaazing. Walking around the old town to get to the hostel was one of the most surprising events! I loved it. The Hostel is very very nice, the 1st floor is a restaurant bar area, and the breakfast buffet area aswell. My box (8 bed room) it was very cozy and comfrotable. Loved it, though no extra spot to leave your staff. Toilets and Showers very nice and clean, also facial and soap thingys. Hallway is wide open son it was cold!!! Loved the spot and the bar downstairs! I would go back, yes!

One of my favourite stays in Japan!”

This was an excellent place to stay in since it was just right next to the Bikan Historical Quarter, and only about a 10 min walk from the train station. There is also an awesome bar/restaurant on the ground level which was very pleasant to go down to for some dessert, and a glass of wine, after a long day of sightseeing. Was one of my favourite stays just for the bar and how stylish it was. Would have loved to stay longer!
