Best place to stay in La Digue”

The reservation team response is fast regarding my queries. Thumbs up to Renaldo Ochieng! Breakfast and Dinner are good, particularly dinner where every night is a different theme. Checked in early and the restaurant team helped to prepare a simple snack for my hungry partner. Credits to the restaurant team! Responsive buggy rides, I don’t have to wait long whenever I needed a ride. The Villa de Charme was excellent, with turn down service every night. The turn down was nicely executed when we were having our dinner. The poolside was nice and view was good. We were just back from a day tour and decided to use the pool, without going back to the room to take the towels. I am still not sure why the staff is not happy about it on the first day when I took it while the second day, my partner took the towels but no problems at all. Thus, very sorry for the inconvenience caused ^^||.

Trying to be five star but failing in the detail ”

Lovely location, lovely staff ( especially Olive in the main restaurant and the pool area was delightful. The food was magnificent. Sadly doesn’t make my five star list. Our first room 102 was more back alley than garden villa. Next to the bike shop and very noisy very early. Very dark as tucked at the edge of the property and more like a 2 star motel surrounding. Moved ( but had to ask twice, firmly) to 114 and the location was delightful but the rooms are not 5 star. The glass door into the bathroom has two large cracks in it. The bathroom badly needs painting. The outside shower in 102 didn’t work. So to summarise, great location but falls short of being worthy of the price paid.

It’s was our best hotel while traveling in Seychelles. We don’t wish that money we spent for. To be honest I can’t say the La Digue became our favorite island, but this hotel made a great impression on our stay there.

Compare to the other guest house, little disappointing because of its’ high cost. Services were good but charge cart fee to ferry terminal is very embarrassing. You can walk to the terminal only 3 minutes. Try Eden spa. It is the best.

Amazing and relaxing stay in La Digue!”

We spent three nights in this amazing resort and loved every minute of it! The villa de charme rooms on the hill lived up to their description and the amenities were very good. From the breakfast to the dinner buffet, the quality of the food and service was top notch! Every member of the staff was helpful and always greeting us with a smile. We enjoyed excellent massages at the spa and relaxed at the infinity pool. While on the island, we visited Grand Anse, Anse Severe, and spent two afternoons at Anse Source D’ Argent.

Super resort on our favourite non private Island”

Have no hesitation! Staff were absolutely top draw. Some of the most friendly and professional people you could ever hope to meet. Planned a last minute trip to Zil Payson and their service desk organised the lot! Unreal service. This is not a 4 star hotel! Perhaps because it does not have a gym or something, I really don't know but this is every bit a 5 star experience and in fact better than allot of 5 stars out there. Welcome pack included a beach dress for my girlfriend, a polo shirt for me, a bottle of good wine and a huge place of fruit! Food was excellent, views magnificent. The only reason I would give it 4 stars for the facilities is because the pool area was quite crowded but this is a tiny island and the only luxury resort so I feel mean doing even that! La Digue has the best beaches I have ever seen in my life and this is THE place to stay on the Island. Stay, don't just do a day trip, it is worth it!!!!!

It’s location is very closer to ferry but far from anse source d’argent. So i should ride bicycle. Room condition is very good. And all staff is kind specialy driver to ferry.

Very pleasant place to stay, but probably overpriced”

We had a nice stay here but I do feel it was overpriced for what was on offer. The food on half board is very good and the front of house staff are very approachable. I don't have any issue with the price of the drinks and additional food - these are about in line with most 5 star hotels. However, there were a couple of things that made me feel that Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie Resort and Spa is overpriced. I found it surprising that there was no water available for guests across the site. This is peculiar to other similar resorts of a similar style and is a small cut back that the owners should reconsider. You do get 2000ml of water per room per day (2x 500ml bottles twice per day) but this isn't enough considering the climate. I also found it odd that you needed to provide a deposit when you checked in if you wanted to add extras to your room. You can choose not to provide a deposit although it means you need to carry cash with you to pay for. (no more characters left)

Best on La Digue”

The hotel really is a step up from most on La Digue and sets itself apart on the wonderful little island. I would gladly stay there again and for the most part, the hotel is all it could be. The staff are generally very good and a welcome difference form the rest of our trip in the Seychelles, especially their sister hotel on Praslin, who were absolutely dismal.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay”

We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the room was very comfortable. The location was very convenient and there was a bike rental place right next to the hotel which was very convenient.

Our only disappointment was that we were not staying longer. The rooms were stunning and very well priced for the quality that you receive. The buffet was very good quality for such a remote location. Kevin helped us to get acquainted with the resort & our room. He was great and even recommended that we use their shower room for after we had checked out but before we departed the island. Gayan makes the best drinks. High quality! Ask for the Gayan Special.

Great location but over priced and pretentious ”

This could have been a great hotel but they have tried to cram too many rooms into the site which means that the pool area is cramped and overcrowded and the rooms are not villas but apartments. Would I stay there again, no, there are other hotels that are much better value for money. Beware the bikes provided by the hotel are not available after 6pm so if you want to go out for dinner by bike you need to get the bikes before 6pm (this spoilt one of our evenings as the restaurant we had planned to go to was a bit too far to walk to. The island is fantastic and worth exploring by bike.

Fabulous hotel”

We had an amazing stay at this hotel, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We stayed for 7 nights. The pool is just wonderful after a day cycling round the island. The staff are lovely. The only thing I would change here is the evening menu, I think this needs to be more varied. I would definitely go again and recommend to every one to stay here.

Unsafe infrastructure”

First day on the beach a parasol blown by the wind hit my arm causing a bruise. On the second day, to be safer, we stayed by the pool. Not for long as my husbund was very badly injured by onother parasol not properly secured. This caused him a deep scalp cut which required him to receive nine stitches in his head. Vacation totally ruined. Full rest for three days and daily trips to local hospital for treatment and an additional visit at a hospital on the main island for a brain scan. Other areas were unsafe, such as stairs with no protection rails and pool area with no signaled high steps. We are waiting for property management action on our full refund request.

Absolutely amazing!

Very bad service after check out ”

After i left the hotel The bags were taken by the hotels employee from my room later to find out they are unattended by any personal which is in the first place not safe beside the port(jetty). Second they were under the rain filled with dirt and water instead of being put under the cantilever. The bottom sides are all scratched which shows that they were thrown and not put gently, at minimum they should be up right on their wheels. Till now i don't know if anything in the bags are broken. I have one hard* case Samsonite all scratched on the side , one big soft* case Samsonite all scratched on the side too, and one President soft* case scratched and damaged. My bags were in good condition and nothing scratched or broken as i handed them personally to the nepali driver which took them to the reception. The checkout bag service was terrible unprofessional and has no excuse. I talked to the front manager and GMPlease let me know what steps shall you take to compensate on my loss. Thanks

They gave us wrong informations so we missed jetty to Mahe. Also we needed to wait to lent bycles for thire lunch time because of wrong information again. And they said that prepared breakfast for early departures but very poor food, 1seems not prepare anythings. Lastly, they are not ready room even though after check in.

What a shame ...”

The good ... the villas on the hillside. The bad ... the hotel management, check in process, charge to transport customers from ferry to hotel (300 meters), no beach, no snorkel equipment, poolside management, no attention to detail.
