Definitely want to come back again”
When we booked the hotel, we had an impression that it was an old one because the latest renovation was in 2008 as stated in agoda. But don't be fooled. We were surprised by how well it was maintained. The room contained wooden furniture, but they just looked classic. The mattress was comfortable. The room was also spacious compared to rooms commonly seen in Japan. The bathroom was also spacious. Anyone will be pleased with the room. The breakfast was wonderful. There was a huge variety of food in the hotel restaurant. Please be careful not to overeat. They provided many choices of drink, but after trying out a few, we simply sticked with ordinary juices. Nevertheless, the restaurant has done a great job introducing famous produces used in different dishes. All the staff have sweet smiles. It makes customers happy. =)

We're a family of four and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It was comfortable, clean and though we opt out the breakfast option, those who would like to, can also pay for it on the spot if you so wish to dine at their buffet breakfast. There's coin laundry services within the hotel premises too if you require them. The staffs were very friendly and if you look closely around the lobby... well, I wouldn't want to spoil your "adventure" in the hotel so give it a try! tldr: 10/10 p.s. Value for your money p.p.s. Nice mid-trip treat of a spacious room”
I believe this was technically the most expensive room per night my travel buddy and I booked for our two-week trip to Japan last April (it was either this or Osaka on the previous Saturday night), but for the one night that we stayed, it was totally worth it. After staying in teeny rooms for over a week prior, the space, cleanliness, view, and hospitality of this place was refreshing. Even the buffet breakfast was the best out of the whole trip. I wouldn't mind staying here again to hopefully catch more sights of the area without the rain that we unfortunately met with during our last stay!

Exceeding expectation”
It's a very busy hotel but the staff are patient and thoughtful with every guest.Good location,walking distance to the train station,convenient store and Okayama castle.The room is very clean and spacious(compared to it usually is in Japan) .What I like the most is the breakfast, which is reasonable priced and good quality.From details such as the decoration and the information provided in the room,I can feel the intention of this hotel to deliver good service and make the experience of every guest a pleasant one.

Best service with very clean room!”
The hotel is very close to Okayama station (5mins walk), very close to the famous demiglace tonkatsu don place behind the hotel. It is also directly connected to a drug store, that opens until 12 am. You can even borrow a hair iron, an aroma therapy to make you sleep easily. Although the 4th floor is very creepy. When ghost hunters this place might be one of the place you need to visit

Warm hotel”
I like the aroma of the hotel lobby. The staffs there are all very nice & helpful. They prepared lots of recommendations in Okayama which I really appreciated. Room is slightly bigger than average hotel rooms in Japan. The hotel seems quite support local brands as there are many products selling in the lobby. One of the thing suprising me was - the hotel will help you to clean glasses.

Excellent location, room and services”
The hotel is very conveniently located: close to the JR station, next to areas with many restaurants and a nice small river . The room was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. If I have a chance to go to Okayama, I will choose this hotel again without hesitation.

Very nice hotel in Okayama”
Great location, about 10 min walk from JR station. Close to many bars and restaurants and the entertainment district. Also a pleasant walk to the Gardens and Castle. Nice size room and well set up. Friendly staff who provided a nice map with suggested restaurants - the sushi restaurant a block away from the hotel is great - in business for 70 years with the second and third generation running things. It was a great suggestion. I absolutely would stay here again.

I normally have some reservations, excuse the pun, in wholeheartedly recommending a hotel but I do here. Position was great, with easy access to tram and bus for local travel. The train for easy access to other destinations in fairly close proximity to Okayama was only a short walk away. Breakfast was very good with plenty of variety, one little markdown here was that some of the hot dishes, were not. Overall I rate this my favourite hotel of the ten or so that we have stayed in during our two visits to Japan.

High quality with great price ”
The staff is professional and polite. The room is clean and comfortable, but 3 people stay in might a little bit small if someone with a big luggage. This price included the breakfast is really cheap in terms of the service and excellent location. Strongly recommend.

they have very clean spacious room and bathroom. It's not cramp for 5 of us also our belongings. they give you exactly the pictures of the room you want to choose and their price is very fair.

I arrived before check in time but the receptionist said my room was ready anyway and she allowed me to check in early without extra charge! The room was very clean and the staff was very pleasant. Great experience

Very Nice Hotel in Great Location”
We stayed at the Koraku Hotel for 3 nights in November. We were very happy with our stay there. The room was large and clean, the staff pleasant and friendly, the breakfast buffet was not the largest, but was varied and the food good. I chose the Koraku because I'd read that hotel rooms can be very warm in Okayama in November and A/C typically not available that late in the year, but at least at the Koraku you can open the window. When we arrived, it was 25 C in the room with no A/C, but after opening the window for a few hours, the temperature dropped several degrees, which made it possible for us to sleep comfortably.

The staff were wonderful - welcoming and helpful. The room was great - plenty of space and several English to channels were available. Breakfast was excellent - a lot for Westerners and a spacious eating area - no scramble to get food that we've experienced in other hotels in Japan. Easy walk to the train station. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great hotel with the price”
We booked one room with three people. The room are big enough for us. And we arrived and put our luggage one day early. The staff are so helpful and solve some transport problem as they can. I highly recommend you guys to choose this hotel in Okayama. It is so close to the JR Okayama station and some malls.

Nice and clean”
Excellent value for our stay. The free bicycle rental is great fun for a short ride to the castle and the garden. The Japanese style breakfast is great as well.

A delightfully retro hotel - excellent facilities and staff. Too early for check-in but when we returned luggage already in the room. Had reservations at a restaurant a block away- staff walk us to the door. Convenience store next door. I would return in a minute. Service superior.

This was my third stay at the Koraku and I've never been disappointed in any way - Friendly multi-lingual staff; clean, well-equipped, good-sized rooms and a great location - all at a very reasonable price.

Hotel reception was friendly and helpful and provided many complimentary services including rental of simple aromatherapy set and glasses cleaning service. Central and connvenient location as our base to explore Miyajima and Naoshima too.
