Amazing staff and turtle experience ”
Stayed in luxury tent accommodation. The tents are worn and luxury was not my choice of words. Power went out I. Late afternoon and stayed out until late night. Staff were amazing and helped us during this time. The included turtle experience was great. Led by knowledgeable gentlemen who made it a fascinating experience. I would recommend visiting but not staying in tent accommodation. Food at the restaurant was very good and the staff were wonderful
Exceptional experience to be able to see the turtles in a protected environment under the supervision of knowledgeable and passionate staff. A must to do both the morning and night tours. Restaurant staff were of great service, providing very good meals.
Very valuable place ! My kids love sea turtles very much ！”
You can see a lot of stars when u live tent area . The facilities are very simple but comfortable u ,especially the pillows and quilts . We have a very nice sleep . We join the five o’clock tour in the morning. It’s an unforgettable experience we saw two sea turtles and three little sea turtles in front of us . Unfortunately I saw the sea turtle guide using the flash light towards the turtles. (include some tourists use flash light to take photos)They wants the tourists can take photos clearly but it would disturb the turtles. I hope the turtle reserve can educate the tour guides and tourists before the turtle tour starts . We should protect sea turtles and our earth in deed . Some tourists even touch the baby turtles.
Only stay here for the convenience of seeing the turtles ”
If you stay at the hotel you get priority to see the turtles which is the only reason why i would recommend this hotel. Also if you do not stay here and stay somewhere nearby the drive at 9pm or 5am would be quite dark and not friendly for someone who does not know the area. Staff is not friendly nor do they make an effort as they are used to get an influx of tourists everyday. Room is basic but loud.
Great turtle viewing”
The hotel itself is so so. Quite basic. However you do not come here for the hotel but to see the turtles which is an amazing experience. We did both tours, evening and morning and we saw plenty of turtles both times.
The best spot for turtle watching”
Perfect for turtle watching with children. The tents are only a short walk from the main building which makes waking up at 4 am so much easier. Don't bother with eating at the restaurant though because it's overpriced and tasteless, even through service and view are good.
Amazing sea life ”
As a group we had a lot of fun. The weather was really good at that day. Though it was in July. It was a bit windy and we were able to sit out side the tints And enjoying the atmosphere It's so calm and relaxing out there We went for turtle watch two times Night and early morning An amazing experience for the kids Every one was amazed
Loved seeing the turtles and so pleased that so much respect was shown for them. I believe dinner should be included with the accommodation especially as there are no other alternatives close by. Either that or it should be much more affordable. 9.5 rial per person is too much.
Poor wifi, great turtles”
If you want to visit the turtles you cant get closer. We opted to stay in the luxury tent which although expensive and squeaky, had an excellent shower, was very clean and made a nice change to typical hotel rooms. The only downside was that the wifi across the whole reserve rarely worked.
Bucket list trip!”
The turtle experience was incredible and the guides were so passionate about the work they do. Especially our 4am guide on Sat 17th September who was fantastic. We were able to see turtles every evening, both mothers and babies - definitely got really lucky! We stayed in the Eco tents which were really impressive in terms of facilities and were clean and comfortable with the much needed air con for the humid evenings. My only small issue was the noise of the tents during the night when it was really windy (metal loops banging off metal poles) - not something that was the fault of the resort. The staff were a great help with going further afield to see other parts of the area and gave great directions. The breakfast was simple but good quality, everything you could ask for really. I would recommend this at this time of year in terms of seeing the turtles as it was high season however I would also note that the 9pm turtle watches were really busy, to the point that I felt frustrated with other people who were only interested in a photo op and not the information on the animals. If you want to avoid crowds I would say go at a different time however you run the risk of not seeing so many turtles at a different time of year.
Great place for turtle watching”
The hotel is at the reserve itself. So it's very convenient & no late night driving to go for the turtle watching tours. The price includes breakfast, 2 tours (night & predawn) and entrance to the museum. As a hotel guest, you have a secured place on both tours. For non-hotel guests, you have to reserve your spot ahead of time. The room was spacious & clean.
Highly recommend the whole experience! We were the only ones staying in the hotel on this night and we were treated like royalty! Raja the Manager of the restaurant was outstanding and we really enjoyed the food. The turtle experience is central to this hotel, so no pool or view from the hotel room. There were no turtles visiting the beach during the evening as low season, but we were very lucky to see a turtle lay her eggs and return to the sea the following morning. Lovely small group of only 10 and the guide was excellent. Great being at the Reserve, no driving backwards and forwards!
A bit overpriced, but still worth it”
The room was clean and decent overall, the service amazingly helpful and polite. The turtle watching is extremely well organised, we've got to see 3 big turtles and a baby one at night. Totally worth it, never experienced anything like that before!
An amazing stay!!!”
It was a brilliant place to stay! The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was girl isn't and very peaceful. We managed to see a Turtle on the beach and a baby one in the morning. I cannot recommend the stay enough!
Came with kids and glad we did”
Really great! Staff was nice and polite and the tents were very big for our family. Our 3 kids age 11,9 and 6 shared a big bed. We missed seeing baby turtles though we heard one later group saw them. We saw two different turtles and one we saw laying many eggs. Amazing experience. Sunrise on the Indian Ocean / Arabian Sea was gorgeous.
Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve”
Mostly everything was great. The location is spectacular, the tents are very unusual and comfortable, food was decent and the buffet offered quite much choice. The highlight, turtle watching, is just magic, well organized, with interesting guides. Negative points: - Knowing that after the 4am turtle watching, you go to bed somewhere between 5.30 and 6.30am, having some workers doing some drilling, talking and laughing very loud at 8.15am is not that enjoyable... - No real coffee for breakfast
