Good Facilities but IRRESPONSIBLE STAFF ”

We stayed for a night and I ordered for an airport transfer right after check in. I informed them that we have an early flight so we need to go by 4am. They said they'll arranged it so we trusted that everything will be done smoothly. That morning we were at the reception at exactly 4am. NOBODY WAS THERE. We kept on ringing all the phones provided in their card but nobody answers the call! We stayed and waited for 40mins because we don't know how to call a taxi in that island! WE ALMOST MISSED OUR FLIGHT! When I decided to leave and just try my luck if a taxi will be available by the road side, I left a note on the desk telling how irresponsible they are and they must give me back my 500hkd deposit. I called before my departure from Hongkong and the person who answered the call was so rude and said they didn't charged me. After I arrived in Korea, I checked my card bill and they charged me the 500hkd but still didn't give back my deposit! SEND ME BACK MY DEPOSIT OR I'LL SUE YOUR HOTEL!

Nice stay”

The room was small but tidy. It was cleaned up every day. There was free bottled water, and snacks for guests. Breakfast was simple, but was good enough to start the day (better than nothing). It was a bit far from the bus station, ferry pier, about 20 minutes walk at least. The staff were knowledgeable about the areas. If guests would want to go somewhere, they could advise them which bus to take, and how much it would cost to plan their days, and save them many hustles. I definitely recommend this Resort to other guests when they plan to have a sea change in Hong Kong. Winnie the Pooh.

Superieur”

Very friendly and helpful staff. Small but perfect room with complementary coffee, water, biscuits and toiletries. Good breakfast. The only drawback is you have to take two buses to get there from the airport but it’s quite easy. We’ll definitely visit again.

The resort was conveniently located within the distance of an event i attended. The hotel also provide additional refreshments for guest participating at the nearby event. Friendly staffs and homely feel.

Birthday stay”

This was our 2nd stay with our dog. Room was small but sufficient (if you want bigger, then get the VIP). Breakfast was simple and sufficient, although they ran out of noodles, they were able to replace with toasts, which was better. Check-in and check out were smooth, friendly and accommodating staff. We really enjoyed having breakfast with our dog. For standard pet fee $200, they provide bowl, pet mat, cleaning service and souvenir bottle. It was rainy however, they managed to keep the area nice and dry. We have recommended this hotel to all of our pet friends and will return again. Restaurants are 10-12mins walk away, but that's great since our purpose was to enjoy the beach, the silence and seaside restaurants. Thank you for a great stay!

Good location to explore Lantau, room microscopic”

I have chosen Mui Wo (Lantau) to explore the island. The ferry pier to other islands and Hongkong is right there. The place is really quiet, has some seafood restaurants and a nice city beach. I know that hotels rooms are small and expensive in Hongkong. Well, I don't want to be unfair to Seaview Hotel. But it has to be stated that the rooms are so small that two suitcases block everything. You can't move anymore. There is no chair, no table. Tiny bathroom actually ok. The place is clean, the breakfast without choice (eggs, eggs) and they have a very grumpy fellow taking care of the breakfast (grumpy even for HK standards). The staff is actually quite friendly. Would I recommend the place to friends? No, room just too small. On the other hand, a few days later I have been to Ramada Hongkong, bathroom SMALLER with sink in the room, still no chair/table but 3 times more expensive!!!! Hey, stay at Seaview, take the ferry to HK every day and save a lot of money.

Basic Hotel”

The staff at times were more interested in social media than guests, the breakfast was good, the room was very small and Non Smoking, though the web site indicated differently, we only stayed 3 nights and moved to a hotel nearby that catered for my needs, not shown on web sites. The location is great beautiful views of the Bay and a short walk to the town.

The location is far from the ferry, bus or taxi, not sure if the hotel will pre-arrange for a tricycle ride, not convinient for those with lots of luggage, rooms are small and I think I had one of the bigger rooms, the dog is moody, there is a sign that says do not pet the dog, take 500HKD as you will need it for a deposit. I asked for a wake up call, never got it, breakfast starts at 8 am, I think it should be 7 am, breakfast is good, inside the room there are nice things like a shower, flat screen TV, OK WiFi, they provide coffee, snacks, water and toiletries on a daily basis,,,, I stated that I would not recommend it but only because of the distance to transportation, other than that, it is ok

Good value for Money. Friendly family. The garden needs some improvement (chairs etc.). But all in all worth staying there.

Did I mention "clean"? Great staff. I stayed on a return layover. I plan to stay here again. The room is small yet comfortable.

I wrote a lot about the many good of this hotel before. But due to a mistake it was all gone. I am in no mood of writing it all over again. So I would conclude this shortly. Good value of money. Nice breakfast. Nice view. Cute dog. More like a hotel but not a teen resort than the famous one, which is next to it.

Good service vs the relatively long walk”

I was looking for a hotel just to spend the night before our Ngong Ping tour the following day. We arrived at HK airport at 11:30pm and got to the hotel around 12:30am. From taxi drop off, needed to walk for 5 minutes. We were so tired already coming from the flight and to walk for 5 mins more is the last thing we would want to do. But when we reach the Seaview Holiday Resort, we were gifted by a room upgrade to VIP by the very kind receptionist. Also gave us advice not to leave early and stay until at least 9:30am. The VIP room was tiny yet can fit in my family of 4 (w/ 2 little girls). Though it took a while for the room to get cold. The room is complete with toiletries, slippers, complementary drinks and snacks. The lady serving the breakfast was also very nice and accommodating, we loved her to the point that we had her join us for a photo. The beachfront is clean, the sand is like beige in color. Overall, the nice and helpful employees outweigh the little inconvenient walk.

Great shower! Not large but decent sized room for Hong Kong. Right on the beach and walkable to everything in town. Good number of restaurants and bars nearby. Staff was helpful. Free breakfast was good one day, not great the next.

Great place away from the city”

I was looking for home base in Hong Kong away from the city close to a ferry pier to be able explore. This hotel in Mui Wo was perfect. I could enjoy the big city yet come back to enjoy the tranquility of Silvermine beach at days end. Great Joel, breakfast, and staff. Ten minute walk to pier.

Where the beach doesn't dissapear”

Tide wipes off the majority of this quite long sandy beach, but not close to this hotel and the hotel is far away from the mad man playing very loud music all day long (he sits just before you reach Silvermine resort walking from the pier). Very small room, but absolute plus is that you can press the heat button in the bathroom and it will be heated! Coffee/tea and complimentary biscuits were a very nice touch. Toothbrush/paste, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion were provided in the room. They can order a taxi and point out the pick-up place and it worked perfect: taxi came on time and a 25 min journey costed us 160 HKD (to round up). Can't comment on the breakfast as we left at 8 the time they start serving it. And take some mosquito repellent as I killed 2 of them in the room and it is in the middle of January! (but the weather was more like summer and I saw at least 3 ppl swimming in the sea)

Attentive staff, good value and excellent bbq.”

We went during the Christmas holiday, and they had a lucky draw at 7pm which was very festive and fun. The whole stay during the holidays is very fun and the staff went out of their way make it festive. The bbq we reserved ahead of time was great, the food was well prepared and table all set aside. So we just showed up and started cooking, highly recommend it.

Very decent, basic hotel that won’t break the bank.”

There is nothing fancy about this hotel but for HK the price is very good and we have no complaints. The location is peaceful and scenic and it’s a 10 minute walk along the beach to reach ferry port/bus stop./restaurants. The room was comfortable and very clean but really tiny so if you have kids or a lot of luggage it might not be practical. The staff aren’t very smiley but perfectly helpful and courteous which is good enough for me! Only negative was the breakfast - there is no choice, you just get what you’re given and I didn’t really enjoy it. Better to stock up in a supermarket or get the ferry over to Cheung Chau island for some dim sum.
