erg aangenaam, wij kwamen terug van familie bezoek en zijn nog drie nachten in het Tarin hotel geweest voor onze vlucht naar Nederland. Het enige min puntje was het ontbreken van WiFi op de kamer maar nadat het in het hotel wat rustiger werd was dat op sommige momenten wel mogelijk

Great location, facilities have to be improved”

The 1st room that they gave us had a broken air-conditioner, a broken fridge and leaking tap. There's nothing else that they could do to fix it, but to move us to another room on the 2nd day. Other than that, swimming pool was smaller than it looks on the picture. Staff are very helpful and kind. Location is great.

Parking,Pool and location”

This hotel is located 2 minutes walk from the newly opened Maya shopping center.The hotel itself is very comfortable and seemed to be well used for the 4 nights we stayed. The breakfast is a large buffet and the restaurant is open for meals during the day and night.The pool area is small but adequate if you need to take a dip in the hotter weather.

Free upgrade, surprising location”

We were a group of 10 people of mixed ages traveling together .We stayed for 4 nights in the Junior Suite plus extra bed and 3 twin rooms. We phoned a month before to ask if we could have all the rooms clean together.When we arrived the staff informed us they had upgraded the 3 twin rooms to the Junior Suite deluxe floor.The rooms were terrific-spacious and clean and all together.The breakfast room was certainly well attended each morning we were there.The breakfast provided was a large buffet and more than adequate.There were some roadworks going n outside but we were able to access the car park n front of the hotel easily.There is an additional car park across the road .We were surprised to find that we were located almost next door to the Maya Shopping Centre- a center full of restaurants,shops and the well known Rimping Supermarket.

5 Days stay at Chiang Mai”

We stay here for 5 days . The best part is the location . 5 minutes walk to Maya shopping center & cross the junction is Nimmanhaemin Rd where the new area for happening . The room is spacious and clean . The plus point are the power shower & the bed , the breakfast is so so good with number of variety . The minus points are the TV set . Still using the dinosaur type old TV with weak signal reception , the wifi just for 1 gadget . Overall you get for what you pay .

Nice hotel, bad location”

i enjoyed my stay here overall, but i didn't like the location so much. on the map, it doesn't look very far from hotels like furama, but in reality, the road that the hotel is on is very busy and cannot be crossed except at intersections. the road is not very pleasant to walk on, so it felt much further from the mall than a place like furama. also, this place has a pool, but it's very small, and didn't seem particularly clean. overall, though, for the money, it's a pretty good value.

Great Location”

the hotel is on the highway and away from the hustle and bustle of the main city. it is easily accessible from the airport and the rail head and the breakfast there is awesome. very nice and cordial service staff and a good place for the budget traveller.

Needs to be updated”

The lobby was very nice when you first walked in but once you get into the elevator and head up to the rooms it’s very dirty and needs to be updated. I don’t think it’s been updated since 1980. Breakfast was good and staff are nice but rarely do they speak English. We got a different room because the first one smelled and had a big patch of mould on the ceiling by the air conditioner. The taps are hard to turn on and off and not the greatest location. Pool was nice but only room for 3 people to sit out there.

I have spent 3 nights for my business trip. The hotel room is old but clean. Great location near Maya and One Nimman. Good breakfast with various choices included northern style foods. Friendly staff and good information for local attraction and nice coffee place not far from the hotel.

If you're looking for budget this is a great place!”

I enjoyed my time at the Tarin. It is old and needing a LOT of upkeep. But, knowing it was a budget place I can't really complain. It is so close to many places, which was excellent for me. The breakfast was very average and hardly worth the effort. Even though we were on a non-smoking floor people still smoked, mainly in the stairwell which was right beside our room. I would come back simply because of it's location.

Please don't read the end of this report as being too derogatory, the comments are there to hopefully give the management an opportunity to act. I have stayed in a few Chiang Mai Hotels, but this is the only one that I will definitely use again. It's location was perfect for me. Room was spotless, restaurant served good food - not expensive. Staff were helpful. Generally, it was hard to find fault, but of course, I did: Room: Not enough plug sockets, and those that there were were only 2 pin. Modern appliances such as my laptop has 3 appliances. Not the first time I've experienced this, so I carry an adapter. Wi-Fi was shocking. Would not stay connected for more than 1 minute. I had to refer to my mobile hotspot. Pool Area: No protection from the Thai sun - a few umbrellas would be useful. The pool is plastic, which includes the ladder. For an overweight person such as me, this is dangerous as the ladder twists and turns as you use it. Ran out of space...............

Weird Place, But Kind of a Memorable Stay!”

I think we caught this place at a strange time for it. However, we had a decent stay! The front area next to the road is all torn up for highway expansion, and I got confused as to where we should park. It looks like the hotel is owned by KanAir, a small regional air company in Northern Thailand. There must have been a tour group or something that night, because a few hours after we checked in, the lobby was filled to the brim with visitors - mostly Thai but also some foreigners. We had a Junior Suite room - a bit old and dilapidated, but an absurdly large amount of space within the room, as well as a lot of furniture. The Warm part of thermostat didn't work, but I dont blame the hotel considering it's Thailand and rarely need to use this. A steaming hot bath saved the day and warmed me up. Lounge piano player + singer was eerily bad. Memorable though!

Excellent Hotel”

Enjoyed our 3 night stay, wish we had gone there before. The hotel was a little old in appearance inside, but everything was great for the money and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only real drawback was the internet in the room, which was a little unreliable. The food was nice and certainly for Asian tastes but a little limited for Western styles. The hotel is excellent value for money and we would certainly go back again.

Had a fine 5 day stay at Tarin hotel. Frendly staff...close to shopping center and 7 eleven.. lot of local foodstalls outside hotel.. wifi internet was weak and slow at my room. At all value for money hotel...

Old hotel with simple breakfast”

Easy to find Tarin hotel from far away, because the hotel is located near the main road. The building is old but the room was clean. The day I stayed, there's a construction site near and it made noise from 8 A.M. all day long. The breakfast was simple. There were Chinese, Thai and western meal to have.

Excellent value”

The hotel is well placed for sightseeing although the traffic outside it is bad at rush hour.The service is excellent and the outstanding feature is the value for money. Our only negative comment was that the bathroom taps are old and need servicing, being very, very difficult to turn off. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Good service and not far from chiengmai zoo”

I go holiday at chiengmai. This Hotel is not far from Chiengmail Zoo. It convinuine to drive a car because the hotel is on the main road. Breakfast is okey. Not charge for small children. You can drive a car around 10 min to go to Chiengmail night barza. The car parking is not in the hotel.

Polite and helpful staff - good value”

This is my second time at Tarin Hotel. The first time, it was arranged by conference organiser. I stayed there for 7 days. I love it. So I decided to go again and this time for 2 overnights. Hotel is situated on a highway and the area is not very close to town but it is easily accessible by song teaw (red buses). The hotel staff are very polite and helpful. Surprisingly, they all speak English well which is the most important to be able to communicate. Rooms are decorated well and spacious enough for the price you pay. The only thing is there are no additional sockets available to charge your notebooks, mobile and other accessories. If you want to charge, then you will need to unplug either the TV or the fridge. But it was not a problem to me. The hotel restaurant caters Thai and Chinese cuisines and it is not very expensive. I booked it through agoda. Drop in rates is a bit expensive compared to the rates of agoda. With that price, the room is very reasonable and would say cheap! Had wonderful time. Will be there again and again for sure.
