      Great stay - value for money ”
      I stayed at Chancery Pavillion for a personal visit to Bangalore with an infant. Frankly speaking I booked Chancery because of the aggressive pricing, despite being Platinum member of several hotel chain. The experience turned out to be better than just okay. Staff were super helpful and accommodated most of our special needs for the infant. Special Kudos to Puja, Kiran, Sumaiya and Piu. They also have a microbrewary at the rooftop bar, so that's another plus. This being a business hotel the amenities were bit under par. Also the building seemed old and needs renovation. Room sizes are big (superior room) but the furnitures are dated and carpets are dusty. Also the room is not really soundproof, loud music poured in from rooftop bar till midnight. Also the baby stuff (baby cot and baby feeding chairs) were visibly not used and had a lyer of dirt and grit on them. So we could not use them. Even after experience these negative points, we came back with all smiles due to super service from the staff.

      My Stay at Chancery Pavillion”
      I have to say the staff were great, they couldn't do enough to help. I booked at a good rate, although not much lower than normal. When I was brought to my room I believe the hotel was allocating non re-furbished rooms to guests who had not paid full price. The room was dark, smelly, ancient carpet with permanent stains, and a bathroom sink that was supported by a clearly rusted out frame. I did complain and was allocated a great room as a result. The breakfast buffet, compared to other similarly priced hotels ( I stayed in 2 others) was poor, no meat dishes at all. When I was leaving I needed to have my bags stored for a few hours; most hotels have a "behind the desk" office and give a tag number, but not Chancery - my bags were left in a public area. When I returned to Australia I found an item missing from my bag from an area of the bag that doesn't have a lock - very disappointed. My Takeaway - if I complained about the room they changed it if there was a better room available

      The rooms have not been renovated for years. Old leaky & worn out electrical fittings & points, dark furniture & curtains makes a depressive feeling while entering the room after a long day. The bed is at very low level ie almost on the ground level, if you having an back issue it would be extremely uncomfortable getting out of the bed. Such low level of beds I've haven't seen any where, that's why I've told that rooms hasn't been renovated for years. It can be at the most graded as an 3 star category hotel. If there is absolutely no option then opt for this property.

      Staff behavior and services were the worst that I have experienced anywhere in the world”
      I’ve traveled to 25+ countries and stayed in over 800 hotels. I’m an Indian and I’ve had the worst experience in my own country. The staff asked for a Govt issues ID card for my spouse and I showed them her US issues driving license which they refused to accept. They were willing to accept a Govt issued US passport but where not willing to accept a US Govt issued drivers license. Doesn’t make any sense. Does it???

      The reception desk staff most of them good but few always problems. E.g. I reached for check in about 10.30 , the lady receptionist said room will be ready in an hour . Accordingly I came back by 11.30 , at that time instead of the earlier there was a man, who is a liar, said room is not ready. Meanwhile the previous lady receptionist came and hand over the key.

      being a Bangalorian and one who lived in Bangalore for a while, this hotel was one of the best back in the day. Although they have all the means to be good, yet they thrive to be just mediocre. I booked a Delux room for 13 days and changed 3 rooms in 2 days! They were that bad. I heard rats walking around in the vents - The swimming pool was a disgrace to be called that. The staff supremely complacent and incompetent. Very disappointing to see so much potential just go down the gutter. Disappointing and at large, on of the worst hotel experiences I have had in recent times.

      Without even staying they have swiped one say cost and till now they have not refunded it, worst hotel, un courtieous staff and poorly managed unprofessional 4 star hotel. They like only tourists to come , so that they can fool tem and swindle money.

      Excellent value hotel within walking distance of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops”
      The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. Being able to walk easily to the nearby shops and eateries was an advantage as the auto rickshaw drivers camped outside the hotel were very persistent. The pool was not really available as it was being used for a training session by one of the local businesses.

      Everything in this hotel is overly priced including room service. The room allocated to me was shabby and unkept. The sheets were so old it had a yellowish grey colour. The couch was badly stained and the decor was not updated at all. This hotel is definitely not five star, it woul struggle to even make 3 star. I want to speak with the duty manager but I never got to meet him. A really awful experience in this hotel! It very much ruined my holiday and I hold Agoda for allowing 5 star rating for this hotel. I don’t know how they came the conclusion that the Chancery Pavilion is 5 star. DISSAPPOINTING!!!!
