Vu home stay ”

The place was cheap and cosy. Nice atmosphere. The owner was very nice and helpful! There was a lot of creeps though, which was kind of a problem as the toilet facilities were outside. The place is far away from everything you’ll have to rent a scooter to go places. And the place was unfortunately very, very hard to find.

You pay 120 000 d. For the taxi but it's worth it. the food is really good. there a re different types of rooms. The one we had was really cute but small. Nu place left for the an unpacked backpack. He has no more rental bikes that work., and the motorbike is 100d and in very bad shape.

A little time travelling on the land of the Nguyen kings”

Pros: what most critical review lists amongst as a negative point , the location. Outside but still within reach from city. Good idea to have a motorbike/bicycle though. Air quality. Atmosphere. Vũ, the owner who built everything there himself tried to create a place that offers all the comfort that reasonably can be expected (wifi, shower with hot water, parking, food, A/C in certain rooms, mosquito net) in a setting that preserves a way of Vietnamese life (especially the bamboo bungalows, in one of which I stayed) that can only be seen in archive footage these days. Expect close contact with nature (ants and other creepy-crawly creatures in the otherwise clean, and well-maintained bungalows). Cons: directions. Vũ definitely needs to improve in giving directions, and appear less mysterious about the location of his homestay, especially when prior payment is taken. Again the location. Undoubtedly, some will find it way too far our of the city.

Don't go there !!! ”

This homestay was the worst we experienced ever. WRONG address, the property is located 37min away by walking from what Agoda indicates. I had to order a taxi by myself to get to the exact place since the owner never specified it in advance. We got a less than 15m2 bedroom instead of a 30m2 promised. In the room we have found rats and cockroaches feces. The whole room smelled humidity and towels were wet as well. There is also dust all over the place so if you're asthmatic, don't even think about this place. The bed was as hard as a hay-ish bed, if you're looking a good night of sleep Vu homestay is not the place again. the owner's is not I would not recommend this homestay to anyone, espacially if you need a good night sleep. It is cheap but not as cheaper as it should be.

A few tweaks and this place would be glorious”

The good: The property is beautiful. The views are stunning. The staff are friendly. The gardens are well loved. The bad: It's a lot further out of town than it says on the map, so you end up spending the money you thought you were saving on a taxi. You kind of have to eat the food there because everything else is too far away and the food was fine, but not great. Had a fried rice that was equal parts oil and rice. Lack of attention to detail. Like there was no toilet paper in the bathroom and the bum gun was busted. Cushions on the metal chairs in the restaurant would have been good. Rooms kind of weirdly spray painted. Just little things like that. The property has so much potential and they are so sweet. I wish them all the best in developing it.

Perfect place”

Best place we have stayed in two months travelling. Awesome staff, very friendly and good English speakers. The food is so good, big portions for a fair price. Good free breakfast. The outdoor place is very nice with good natural atmosphere. The room is like in a kind of a bungalow, with mosquito net and good toilet with hot shower. Good Wi-Fi.

Got a taxi out to the map location and couldn't find it as it was actually a few miles away from where the map points to. Wasted our time and money.

Worth the money”

We went in a group of 4 and stayed there for 2 nights. The owner is very nice and helpful. Though the rental motorbikes are quite old and the location is quite far from the center, it is worth staying here if you enjoy the fresh air and the typical countryside scenery of Hue.

We stayed in vu home stay for 2 nights and really enjoy our time in here . The owner is so helpful and friendly all the time , the view from the room is more than our expectation. I strongly recommend you should stay here if you travel to Hue.

Nice stay, but definitely not a Homestay”

It's more a guesthouse or hotel with bungalows. Bungalows are cosy and well-equiped (electric-kettle, glasses, tv in the room) but it's a bit cold and small beasts can come inside (we had the visit of a rat and a big spider). Also there is no isolation so you can hear everything from the room next door (which in our case was a family with a baby who cried a lot, from 6am until 11pm...) and from the bar with its really really loud music (also starting early until late at night...) Breakfast is simple but good (bread jam and omelette or chicken noodle soup) and the fresh Vietnamese coffee is great. One bad point is the restaurant which is really expensive, and you have to walk at least 1km to find something correct with local (and not tourist) prices. One of the tombs is not really far, but the 2 others and the city are quite far. But you can rent bicycles for 1$ and motorbikes for 6$. The owner (Vu) seems to be nice but a bit pushy when he tries to sell or rent you things... I would recommend this place

Mixed feelings”

First of all, the homestay is a 37 minute walk away from the point that is shown on this map. Which is not a bad location, if we knew beforehand. When we could not find it, we called Vu and he and his father picked us up with their motorcycles. Vu was very friendly and gave us two bikes for free to check out the area. The homestay is a nice place with huts the owner built himself. They were very clean, but as it was raining throughout the day and the night, I caught a flew as it was quite cold inside. The food that Vu offers is really tasty, but as you are so far away from the city centre, you don't really have any other choice than eating there. All of that is still okay, but when I asked him to do my laundry, I got it back in the morning and it was still wet. I asked him to put it in the dryer once again, and he tried to convince me that my hands are wet, not the laundry. Anyway, he took the clothes back, just to give it back to me the way he gave it to me before. I told him once again that it's still wet and showed him a pair of jeans as an example. About 2 hours later, just before we left, he gave it back to me and everything except for the jeans was still as wet as before. It really annoyed me that he tried to take me as a fool. Approximately 5 minutes before we had to leave to catch a bus in the city, which we booked with him, he tried to make us pay 80.000d for a taxi to the bus station, even though the day before, he told us he and his father will take us to the city for free. When we complained, he payed the taxi. We left this place with very mixed feelings, as everyone there was really friendly, the huts are really nice and the food was one of the best we had in Vietnam, but knowing that Vu is mostly after your money, left a bad aftertaste.

Der erste Eindruck ist sehr nett, aber im gesammten scheint vu eher an geld interessiert zu sein. Seine Eltern Arbeiten sehr viel und haben alles aufgebaut. Da sie kein englisch reden macht er die Rezption. Wir sind mit vorheriger Angabe um 8 Uhr angekommen, konnten aber erst um 14.00 uhr ins zimmer. Und das Obwohl niemand bei Ihm übernachtet hat. Er selbst scheint faul zu sein. Als er frühstück gemacht hat bekammen wir 2 spiegeleier und eine Mücke mit dazu. Alles in allem ist die Preisleistung im vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften die schlechteste auf unserer Reise. Nichtsdesto trotz ist der Garten Paradisisch, hut ab für seine eltern. VU macht das ganze kaputt, sprüht mit Insektengift und scheint nicht wirklich "Organik" zu sein.
