Clean hotel - a bit far from the main entrance to Petra”
This hotel is on one of the hills, quite far from the main treasures of Petra. We arrived on a cold, wet day and appreciated that the hotel had heat in the rooms and hot water. We walked down the hill on the first day (about ?40 minutes to Petra) and this just added a lot more walking to a day that was packed with walking everywhere. The next day we drove down and parked in free tourist parking near Petra. The hotel would have arranged for a taxi if we had requested it. The breakfast was good, but when there were huge tour groups there it was pretty crowded. The rooms were clean and comfortable - not large but fine, with nice linens. The main disappointment was the Turkish bath experience. We really wanted to have a hot steam and a good scrub and massage. We booked in the morning and got back in good time before our scheduled appointments. The steam room had not been pre-heated. The seats were cold, as were the massage tables. We gave feedback to the hotel so hopefully it will improve.
Location is good, from outside it looks like a superb property. Bathrooms were bad , bath tubs were broken. Breakfast was not good. Swimming pool was extremely bad and unclean. We just stayed for a night, if you wish to just stay, and intend not to use facilities, then you can consider this.
Friendly value for money tourist class hotel”
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel even if I did not spend much time in the hotel itself. The front desk manager was kind and very friendly. I like the casualness of the place. It's definitely a tourist class catering to large groups. The hotel accommodates and anticipates most of the needs of the average tourist, including free shuttle from hotel to Petra site/downtown (7 minute drive) and back, selling Petra by night ticket (includes shuttle, Wadi Rum tours, etc. Overall, it's a pleasant stay and I find value for money it's a hotel. It's too bad the hotel wasn't closer to downtown but if one goes on foot (uphill from downtown) it should not take more than 20 minutes.
Given the good reviews on this Hotel, I expected more from this hotel. While it was reasonably clean, the place is in need of some updating, especially the bathroom and elevator. The hotel is located near a mosque and some shops and restaurants but it is too far to walk to/from Petra. The hotel shuttle to Petra is useful. It also sells a reasonably priced lunch box to take to Petra. The breakfast is not bad. Wifi works intermittently.
For sure, when you arrive at this hotel you fall on the charm of his wonderful garden and the hall. You will meet the Professional staff of the hotel who will give your key. And after you enter the in a really old and small ascensor. Don't be affraid it still working. After you pass through the passage, it have magic eyes to open the light, some work some not. Then you enter in your vetuste room. The room is a little small. The bed is confortable and if you are Lucky you will have a nice view on the park. The washroom have a small bath and it don't have fan on the roof. Then, the humidity stay on the room. If you want to wash some clothes and let them dry in the washroom. It will take a long time before to be dry. It have a free shuttle to go near the entrance of Petra. Really useful because the hotel is at the top of a hill and you have at least a 45 minutes walk before the entrance of the site. Depart at 7h, 8h, 9h and come back at 4 pm, 5 pm and 6 pm. Sometimes late, sometimes at the hour. The hotel is really near of the bus stop and near of the center of the Wadi Musa. It have a pool at the main level. Really appreciated after a long walking days (but not really ecologic for a desertic country). But the water was really blur and the temperature of the water really warm. Breakfast is nice, and the buffet for diner can be a good choice for Wadi Musa.
nice and cozy hotel to stay in”
The hotel is nice and cleane. The rooms are not luxuy room just standard
Great location to visit Petra. Nice terrace to relax after the tour. Uninviting pool.
Nice and comfortable hotel”
We had a relaxed stay for 3 nights in the hotel. It's location is very near to the historical site of Petra and the information supplied by the reception helped a lot. The breakfast and dinners are served only as buffet with a variety of tasty food. The rooms are clean and maintained and quite. A good consideration of a mid-price local hotel.
Good clean hotel, but no hot water later at night”
Clean and the service from the staff was good. The only thing to fault is that if you take a shower later in the night there may not be hot water. This happened to us both nights while we stayed there, and despite notifying the staff both times, it was not fixed. There are better hotels you can stay at which won't have this problem.
Clean room and public areas, great staff”
Bad stuff: The wifi barely worked in our room half the time, and the other half the hotel said it was permanently shut off. If they're still saying they have free wifi in rooms, you should contact them personally to verify. The AC shuts off between 7 AM and 5 PM, although warm air still blows. Our bathroom was way too small. When sitting on the toilet, my knees were close to the counter. No vent or window for steam. No iron or ironing board. (Didn't call to ask if I could borrow one, though.) No conditioner, no wash cloths, stingy with the toilet paper. (But I saw these in another hotel, too.) Good stuff: The staff is very friendly and helpful. There's a free breakfast. The bed was really comfortable. There's a pool. There's some nice lush greenery out front. It's a short taxi ride to Petra and a short walk to restaurants. Overall, we were pretty comfortable here. If they had improved the AC and wi-fi, it would have been much more comfortable.
Loads of Charachter at this Locally Run Hotel ”
We enjoyed the Amra palace quite a lot. Located high on the hill, take advantage of their free shuttle to the entrance gate to Petra down at bottom of the hill. We hiked it all the way up the hill after going to Petra in midafternoon, and it was quite a hike. You'll hike enough inside Petra, so avoid hiking up the hill to this Hotel.
Nice staff, great location”
It was a nice short stay. We really enjoy time there with one year old baby. Shuttle bus to Petra save us energy/time. Staff was helpful for all enquiries.
Good service og food”
Lovely hotel with helpful staff”
We had all our meals at the hotel - the meals are good and inexpensive. The hotel is nice and the service is great. They offer a free shuttle to and from the entry of Petra.
very Good Hotel, staff was very helpfull”
Very Friendly Staff”
We arrived late to the Hotel after a long drive and the staff were brilliant with humour and instead of giving us the triple room liked we booked they gave us 2 rooms so one of us could have own room. They couldn't do enough for us and we really appreciated it. Would totally recommend this Hotel to people to stay at while in the amazing Petra area!
It was OK. Breakfast was not great. Our bathroom had a leak and the floor was soaked the whole time. But the staff were nice and helpful, and overall it was reasonable value.
A basic hotel with superb service”
Pros: hotel staff are quick to respond to your requests and are very attentive. Cons: the room is very basic and a little tired.
Relaxing, comfortable, clean, very helpful staff”
Very nice hotel and good value, considering other hotels in Jordan. Would certainly stay again. Breakfast is an area of weakness that needs improving.
