Review of Hotel Stay”
Great value - you get what you paid for - the heater does not work very well. Other than that the place is a bit dark. Perhaps it is the weather. Internet connection is a bit flaky and also limited in the room.
This place is absolutely disgusting.”
The staff is so rude and unprofessional. They have no idea how to talk to customers. Btec workers.
I would never ever go back. Worse hotel I have ever seen
Poor and they charged me twice”
Disgusting rooms, really poor. They also charged me twice! Never again!!!!
The majority of the plug sockets were not working properly Only bar food available when coach parties aren’t booked in
Hotel met our basic requirements”
The staff were pleasant, our room was very comfortable and clean albeit dated in decor, the food in the bar was lovely, great selection and great value for money. However I was looking forward to a nice cup off tea after a very long journey and found the tea provided in the room was poor quality, didnt enjoy that at all. Nice surprise on checkin was finding there was
I didnt like the cleaningless
The staff are relaxing when communicating & very helpful”
Any queries are dealt with in a lovely manner
Nice & peaceful & lovely staff”
Value for money in restaurant
Perfect for me”
Despite the awful reviews I read I stayed at this hotel once before. My room this time comprised of a double bed, en suite bathroom with bath and overhead shower (soap and towels). Tea and coffee facilities in the room plus a T.V. I needed somewhere safe to stay for just one night and, as I had stayed here before, I had no hesitation in booking a room here again. I am making regular visits to both Worcester and Birmingham ferrying grandchildren to and from universities so this hotel is perfect for me. Parking on site (no hassle). Money is limited so to find a lovely room (both times) plus free parking, at the end of a long journey, is all I ask for.
It’s peaceful & no sounds of traffic.Great for respite.”
The lounge is very well organised - seats for tv & seats for talking, reading etc The food is reasonably priced & a varied menu
Not bad....the car park however.....”
Overall first impressions were not good. However the rooms themselves where clean and comfort (although our bathroom sink would not empty) As a family,we booked 4 rooms and have stayed here once before with no problem. Unfortunately this time my daughters boyfriend had his car stolen from the car park, although this was not the hotels fault and the night staff where very helpful,it has certainly put us off staying here again. The car park itself is scruffy and full of rubbish. The next morning we found out another vehicle had been stolen that night too.,so some security ( other than cctv) wouldn’t go amiss.
.the bed was full of hair. the bath tub was Rust which is not hygenic at all expecially with a youn”
the bed was full of hair. the bath tub was rusty which is not hygenic at all expecially with a young child. I was not able to give any hot food to my baby during my stay because there was not a microwave for customers to use. When I asked for the staff to warm it for me in their microwave she asked to fill a disclaimer which I refused because did not have time to do so since my baby was crying all over. I could not even use the kettle because it was dirty and the inner metal was rusted
Good value for money”
Clean, friendly, good value for money.
Out dated, tired hotel.”
It reminds me of old cheap hotels in Philippines. Metal key to get in to the room. Low security. My new towel must have dried in fish and chip shop as it reeked of fried food smell. The decor in the hotel is old . Random pictures of maps and portraits of unknown people in the corridor walls. The carpet was sruffy and marked. The toilet took 4 flushes to clear and the body wash/ shower gel was like fairy liquid diluted 100 to 1. There was no temperature control in the room. The bar served food up to 10pm which was good. However, the chicken fajitas I ordered were unbelievably salty and had me drinking water through the night. I opted not to go for the £10 breakfast the following morning. I walked a kilometer to a nearby Harvester instead. The view from the 2nd floor window that morning showed the garden full of trash. Absolutely dreadfully depressing, I wish I had photographed it to show everyone. This is another example of greedy owners running a large place with 5 or 6 staff.
Old hotel but very accessible.”
Hotel is showing its age but fine for Coventry and surrounding area. Price paid through Agoda was acceptable for the type of hotel.
Nice room( Jurys Inn clone ) ,TV,shower,tea/coffee,Noisy C/H. Good value at discounted price, less so the more you pay. Cooked buffet breakfast acceptable for price, but not great.Didn't try the Continental. Taxi from the station wouldn't be cheap the later it gets,it's a fair way out.
Our night was completely ruined. I booked a double room, on arrival, i was told that they had no double room available for me. On insisting that i should have been told in advance that there were no more double rooms available, i would have decided to look for alternative accommodation. The receptionist said it was a problem of the internet booking sites that continued to book and allocate people rooms that were not available. I was shocked to know that i could actually have booked a room that was not even available. To rub salt into the wound, the receptionist's told me to go and look elsewhere because that was all that they could do. This was now around 11pm. I decided not to torment my wife by looking for another hotel at that time of the night. As if that was all, I decided to take the twin bedded room. Alas! The horror of horrors! (I have pictures and a video) My wife set on one of the chairs, she almost fell. A clear safety hazard. The chair was not sturdy, loose on the joints - video available if needed. The twin beds were of different heights. So we couldn't make a double bed. The room was dirty, clearly not hoovered, the bathroom was dirty (Pictures available for proof). The ceiling paint is scaling off, it really was a pathetic unprofessional way of treating customers. Well done to the kitchen staff. At least their breakfast was decent, though the range of teas were limited. Clearly not their fault. I will never recommend anyone to this hotel, I will vigorously discourage anyone to use such a hotel.
It was quite a good stay. Only drawback is relyin on uber becomes difficult because it is on the ourskirts of coventry and closer to birmingham. So getting a can was hard. Breakfast choices were also less. A hotel withour hot chocolate?! But the minute drawbacks aside, cozy place for pple away from outside world.;)
Really far away from city center, about 20mins by bus.
